Everyone who says this type of stuff about Snyder... like he's pretentious... usually come off as pretentious to me, like you think you have it figured out and are above Snyder but really he's a lot smarter than you give him credit for, and probably smarter than you. When he started talking about Justice League being like the Knights of the Round Table and Campbell's Heroe's Journey it helped solidify he knew more than any of his detractors about mythic storytelling, assuming his detractors even care about mythic storytelling and don't just want safe, palatable quippy garbage or whatever else. His films are almost all masterpieces. You'll get no quarter from me in arguments about Zack Snyder.

Honestly? I'm sick and tired of Batman. Wish DC/Warner would give more spotlight to other heroes. Give me a new Shazam movie or something.
But I think the trailer looks good, and Pattison is a interesting choice. It looks way more grounded than anything Christopher Nolan ever did and I'm curious to see how Matt Reeves handles the material.

It could be a lower budget film, they wanted a more grounded neo-noir detective story but then I'd also say to wait for a second trailer, often the bigger money shots aren't in the first one.

Would have been, if not for the emo hair. It's basically inspired by the comb over, only you comb it all forward and into your eyes.

They are literally taking cues from Batman:year one, long Halloween storyline, looks, +new 52 Batman.
They are going for a very young Batman who is still trying to deal with the emotional impact of being in a city that gives no shit about his parents being murdered.
Hence why he seems full of rage when he beats the shit out of that thug, why he was getting into a fight with GPD officers.
He looks almost unhinged on the tipping point to almost killing someone by punching them to death.
Also tidbit the bat symbol on his chest is the gun that killed his parents. He molded it down into his suit he put together. Looks like he doesn't take care of himself, because he's literally obsessed with taking his fucked up baggage out on scumbags of Gotham.
I want to see his progression as a detective, and how he finds out his journey goes beyond vengeance on the underbelly of Gotham.
Fucking can't wait. Everything I live about Batman comics is literally in this.
