Three movies minimum is the standard for any starring lead in a superhero movie these days. Six and nine movie contracts are getting more common with Marvel. Samuel L Jackson had nine movies, and immediately wanted another nine movie contract when he was getting to the end of his first.

I was stuck by the ‘I am vengeance’ line. I don’ pay much attention to Batman, but I recall one of the 90’s flicks with Robin turning on the difference between revenge and justice.

I might be wrong, but I think this is one of the key threads running through the Batman mythos. Batman has the power to take revenge, and is tempted, but chooses justice instead.

If this is right, I suspect that this will be a self-hating Batman, constructed to pander woke y’alls, whose dominant motive is revenge- not justice.

New Batman should have been Gerard Butler. They could have had him kick Joker off a bridge and scream "this is Gotham".

Or he could be recent Gerard Butler and turn Batman into a romantic comedy.
