This thread has proven that many people are shaken because of the realization of how much he suffered, and how far that took him. Many have been or are in similar places themselves, or have loved ones who are/have been in those kind of situations. Comments like yours add nothing, and can only do damage.

All right about that photo the pic came from a spanish site, If you want to see the site is this one and apparently the person on that photo was murdered and not only that, his picture was used as an example for PPT presentations for forensic students in Spain.

The people who are responding negatively to your comment are trying to say: "If you actually understood or learned more about what can lead a person to suicide, you would not automatically lose respect for someone who ends their own life. Your perspective would be well served by learning more about this before simply diminishing the person."

Depression is an illness. You realize this right? No sane person decides out of the blue that ending their life will solve their problems. It takes a lot of psychological anguish for a person to reach that point. Sometimes just speaking to the right person can make the difference, which is why people who are suicidal should seek help.

Robin Williams had never been one of my favorite actors, but he was such a huge part of my childhood that it's hard to believe he's gone. It's so tragic that Mr. Williams, and so many other depressed persons, aren't able to get the help they need.
Everyone one of you has probably read the Cracked article by now, but I feel that it should be shared again here. Depression is such a horrible thing, and I'm duly grateful that I'm not afflicted by it myself.
Robin Williams was such a wonderful guy, and his death has had an impact on me that I really didn't expect. It's wonderful that so many people recognize how great he was. I really appreciate all of the kind words about the man, on the internet and elsewhere.
