Omg my boss wife just called me to tell me this at work. So sad. Loved this guy. You never know what their real life problems are. Poor family. His wife is devastated
He was basically my second father growing up. Dead Poets Society left a permanent impression on me, and he was so amazing in so many other films in all sorts of roles.
I could actually see a sadness in Robin Williams in some of his later roles, like for example RV, not a sad movie at all, but there was just something about his performance in that movie and other movies as well that made me think he was severely depressed and I don't think he hid it well. It's fucking tragic. One of best there ever was
This is awful news. I don't think in my lifetime ill see another talented human being with such interesting charisma. The man was a funny and dramatic actor.
For me, his death has the impact of Michael Jackson's. My childhood was Mrs. Doubtfire and Jumanji. Robin Williams is just one of those people you assume will be there forever. His movies will live on forever. He took his life after making so many people laugh. Mrs. Doubtfire 2 sure isn't happening.
every person should be treated with respect and it's just as sad as the many other suicides out there, but there's such a powerful sense of injustice here that someone so successful and well liked and mature can be reduced to taking their life. a sobering reminder of depression's horrible power.
