It isn't "way lower". Intelligence test performance in the general population shot up in 20th century but seems to have hit a limit. Nobody really knows for sure what intelligence test data means anyway, what it predicts or what causes high scores. Mostly it is associated with experience of being able to do office admin jobs or knowing how to fill in forms well.

Gaming industry has changed so much so rapidly. Doom TDA and Death Stranding 2 got outsold badly by Peak , REPO and Schedule 1. Roblox has more users than the entirety of Steam and PsN. Big budget AAA games are going to die an ugly death.

Adults still buy decent single player games. And when those kids grow up and become adults, they will also want to play something better. There's always going to be the single player games market. Maybe the budgets will get lower but that's not necessarily bad.

I'm not at all worried about any changes coming to gaming. My only issue is that I have literally too much to play right now. When I started gaming it was with quarters in an arcade. Shit changes.

If you're heavily insistent on playing only single player AAAA games though, you're probably in for a rough time. Everyone's explained how unsustainable it is for the last 3 generations.

Oh course it will have staggering numbers. It's available on PC, every console bar Switch, basically every mobile can run it, and even a Mac version. Combine that with being a social media platform and voilà.

That's why it's critical for both Sony and Xbox to get their mobile stores running with their games and subscriptions. Tencent understands this very well, mobile hardware is powerful enough to run most games at 1080/60. Basically all indies, all AA, and some AAA games. Sea of Thieves or Grounded 2 absolutely should be on mobile.

a huge part of it comes from poorer countries where the tech may not be powerful enough to run Fortnite etc but will happily run Roblox.

If I would be poor I'd rather buy for my child one of those china consoles with 15000games included. Roblox needs internet, so proper poor people can't actually afford it?
