The songs themselves are so bad, I can't focus on the charts.

Some of them are borderline, like Lush and Jane's Addiction. However, they were just bad enough where I have no desire to hear, let alone play them again.

Also, Sonic Youth was an overrated shit band back when they were popular, and their music hasn't improved with age.

Last night a friend (guitar) and I (drums) played the West Coast Marathon, which consisted of:
Shacklers Revenge
Chop Suey
Everlong
Peace Sells
Souls of Black
Battery

Needless to say, I am pretty damn tired this morning.
 
The FIFA Soundtrack is so much better then the Madden one, why can't the DLC pack be coming from that.

On the other hand it hasn't got any Franz Ferdinand.

Knowing my luck, Franz won't be in the Madden pack

I really don't think we're ever gonna get that "Madden pack". It's been too long since Madden was released to make sense from a promotional standpoint.

Meh... The exceptions just prove the rule.
You know how people want a way to just listen to the music in the game, like the jukebox feature we were going to get? I've already been doing it since last year. It's called going into practice mode on bass and not doing anything. It's more true to the album mixes, anyway. In Rock Band, the bass is actually mixed loud enough to notice, even if you're not looking for it.

Yeah, I had started making a list of my favorite tracks in RB to give you an idea the kind of stuff I do like, but I quit and just deleted it after having 15-20 on there. I really do like the setlist as a whole. Everything from Dream Theater, to Lacuna Coil, to Motorhead, it's mostly good-to-great stuff.

The guitar solo at the end of this song is awesome.

Girl's Not Grey is an early favorite track for me (on guitar and vox). It's a shame that the "WHAT FALLOOOOOOOOOOWS" that repeats during the chorus isn't part of the main vocal track more than two times :( That's the best part of the song!

Hey, I'm not a bad guy.

However, regardless of how loud or aggressive a piece of music is, it HAS to work as a cohesive whole. Stuff like Sonic Youth or most of the other tracks on that list are just noise to my ears.

Also, that list is subject to expand. I haven't yet heard stuff like that AFI song, which may or may not make the cut (their track from RB1 wasn't great, but it grew on me after awhile).

AFI didn't have a track in Rock Band.
 
De-Luxe is probably my least favorite song thus far, and its really all because of the guitar charts. I like the song, but absolutly hate the way its charted. As a down strummer those types of songs kill my hand.

I just picked up a capture card. All my UK friends were sending me questions about RB2 so I told them I will put up a stream of me going through everything.

Man these random set lists are way too intense.

I did the Merch Girl one last night which consisted of Chop Suey, Aesthetics of Hate, then some RB2 Tier 1 crap. Two more notes in the AoH solo and I would have failed.

Even though I love the song, and asked for it numerous times before it was announced, I'm not entirely sure how many times I'm going to feel up for playing through a 7 minute song that's basically one or two chord sequences. Maybe I'll love it when I play it, on account of it being Teen Age Riot, but the chart doesn't seem the most thrilling. I had no idea the song was actually 7 minutes long, it never seems that long...
 
I just got a new 360 (I cant wait 4 weeks to get my RROD one back :().... and my god is this thing much Quieter!!!

I can hear the songs in the game now :lol

The intro is ungodly boring. However, once it kicks in, it's a mother f'ing workout.

I'm with you though, I don't want to play it again anytime soon.

We were having sort of the same issue yesterday. Random setlist (5 songs) and it was:

Who Are You?
some other really long song
...And Justice For All
some other really long song
the song that ended it (think it was Carry on Wayward Son)

During our second marathon yesterday, we just unplugged the HD, so that we would only get RB2 stuff and get everything unlocked quicker. Still missing a few songs, but have most of the setlist available.
 
I'm going to be picking RB2 up after class today. I can't wait!

Wasn't there a t-shirt pre-order bonus at Gamestop? That's where I pre-ordered mine. If so, can anyone verify the size?
 
Yeah the random setlists are weird. I did 2 and got 2 Disturbed songs in a row both times. I don't even really like the band, but got the songs for free from the Best Buy promo. I'll probably delete them from my drive so they won't pop up again.

All they had at my Gamestop was XL. I'm going to have to try and shrink mine, I'm more of a medium sized guy :(

I did that too. Those songs were so awful even at FREE they were overpriced.

I had to sing Heroes by David Bowie yesterday. I bought that song mainly for the guitar, and because my girlfriend loves Bowie. Talk about hard to sing, ugh. I'm awful at singing really low songs.

Heroes is probably the worst cover in the game. It feels like a chore to play on every instrument.
 
Played nonstop from 12 something on Sunday till 2 something on Monday.

I fucking love this setlist, I knew I already loved a lot of the songs but godamned there's maybe 3 songs out of the tons I've played so far I've been like eh.

and thats saying something when you realize how many fucking terrible songs are in the game. Alanis Morrisete, Presidents of the United States?! fucking god-awful. there is so much tripe in this game its amazing that i love it as much as i do.

Alice in Chains in Rock Band?! 'nuff said. its a song off of one of the wakest of there albums and it fucking rules. put the whole catalog on there and i can die happy.

anyways awesome game. so damn fun. and just in time, i was getting so tired of the tracks on RB1.
 
I must say... BOTB is actually pretty cool. Chasing your friends score is a lot of fun and at times fustrating when you can't beat that persons score.

How come nobody is online right now? :(
 
Presidents of the USA are lovely. Even if Lump ain't the song I would have picked. And You Oughta Know is gonna be amazing to sing at the very least. Would she go down on you in a theater?

You know whats shit though? The Paramore song in this game. So boring. Misery Business would have been much better.

Well, I got the game yesterday but I didn't have much time to play. I've only made it far enough to unlock the van so far. I gold starred Today on my second play through, which for me is pretty good.

I haven't been following this thread closely, so I apologize if it's common knowledge now, but can you use the Rock Band guitar for Guitar Hero yet, or is that going to work just with the new GHWT game?
 
So there isn't jukebox mode, did they cut the photoshoot mode too? I remember reading E3 articles that said you could post your band members and take photos of them that you could upload to Rockband.com.
