Someone on the RBN forums asked what the [velocity] MIDI event did, and a HMX dev came in and said something along the lines of "nothing... yet".

Could they be stealing the velocity drum notes from GH for RB3? Or was the guy just blowing smoke...
Neversoft stole it, they found out Harmonix were testing it years ago. Obviously Harmonix test to perfection and won't launch till it's amazing.

If they're going to introduce new drumming features I really hope double bass is one of them.

That tactic certainly worked in regards to user created content!

I know once you can access the drive, there's a manual eject. Check on YouTube just in case.
Oh yeah thrust me you can disassemble the drive easily, quite easy to put back as well, When my 20 gig YLOD it ate my batman AA , I had to open it to retrieve it. Did not find a manual eject on my drive tough. I'm quite happy with my new slim. I use my old fat ps2 for ps2 games now, I kinda miss the upscaling/smoothing PS2 function but I mostly play PS3 gmaes now so the loss is not unbearable. Sold my non working 20 gig for 125$Cdn. I did not want to wait for sony to repair it and it would have costed me the same (repair/exchange in canada are 175$)

On the one hand, I wouldn't put anything past HMX quite yet. On the other hand, it is Nord, he's practically going around with a cigar and a length of hose when it comes to RB3.

It makes no sense to use a text event for that kind of thing, just use a note like forced HOPO.

My guess would be they hope to implement custom drum samples (GH:M) and maybe you can map parts of the actual song to them and set it to be velocity-sensitive.

Cork did you know that if you upgrade Vanille's weapon all the way to Nirvana using 1 Trap and then dismantle it you get 3 Traps?

I think I might upgrade her shit so I can do that and have the three traps I need for the real weapons I want.

Just saying, i've been listening to Tenacious D and have concurred that if harmonies are in RB3 and Wonder Boy is not, then HMX might as well not even have harmonies.

The Tenacious D album is so fucking awesome. I really wish they'd make another one.

The soundtrack to the movie doesn't count because it mostly sucks.

Why in the world would you want that? Do you hate yourself, and want to destroy your well-being by using that peice of shit?
Your opinion means the world to me.

RB2 drums aren't out here, and the new (2009) GH drums work perfectly.

Lies! "Classico" and "Beezleboss" are fan-fuckin'-tastic.

So is "Master Exploder," but it's been driven into the ground now.

Nirvana is such an awful band it almost makes that not worth it.

double bass is a waste of time. the only really big jump would be cymbal charting. anything else is meh.
How is it a waste of time? Don't you want the most accurate charting possible? Just look at Painkiller, even though it's tough, it's a joke compared to what it would be with double bass.

Harmonix didn't do it first.

Double bass is too hard for me, but so is most drumming :(

Yes, having accurate charts is stupid.

And I'm sure it would take them so long to add in more bass notes, the easiest charted note in the music game genre.

It's not about accurate charts; it's about playability. Double bass does not work nearly as well with the pedals they stock the drumkits with and I think that's an issue you can't have go away by saying "they should buy a pair of $70 pedals instead". You're not looking at the big picture!

Also, GH is one to talk about accurate charts after the Laser Cannon Deth Sentence debacle.

Whats good about it? Have you seen the expert plus chart for Slayer? Fucking retarded.
You know, most players would say that about an expert guitar chart. Let's underchart it instead, yeah? Ace Of Spades was so much better for it in GH1.

With the current equipment, its impossible to do that shit. Well not impossible, but its pretty fucking hard. I have a omega pedal and a stock RB2 pedal and its hard enough. Not fun. Cymbals would be fucking sick though.

While driving I was thinking about how bad GD:RB is going to be, which got me thinking.... I think The Who and Black Sabbath are the only bands they could have done a game on that would keep all instruments pleased while still being an extremely popular band. c/d

but you guys can go back to arguing about silly double bass

All I'm saying is...

RB3 better have some sort of library organization that's actually functional.

RB2's single song scrolling is nearly inoperable with more than 400 songs.

GD:RB is going to be a good game.

Without even bringing in the fact that the game is going to be one huge chordfest, Green Day's music is terrible. The Who and Sabbath are the only logical choices.

Would sell like garbage.

Just giving HMX some ideas. Smart ones for once. :p

A Sabbath game would be incredible.

I'd also jizz all over a Radiohead game. Even though a lot of their more recent stuff wouldn't chart too well.

hmm... who else...
