So I just talked to madcatz, probably the best customer service experience I've ever had. They said they'll send me a new pcb free of charge, but I asked for a complete swap, he's going to ask his supervisor and call me back. Very satisfyied to say the least.

There's no way I'll ever catch up to Ashour, and I've got Ridley right on my ass!

Get off my ass, Ridley! Delete some posts or something.
Never give up man, I used to be like the 18th just a few months ago but I got this far ahead with thoughtful posts and

That's a great idea but that pussy will never do it, he's a super troll so he needs to keep his real identity a secret.

I'm really curious about what Archie really looks like. I picture a fat troll, but he goes to the gym all the time and drinks protein shakes.

Maybe he drinks protein shakes all the time and doesn't go to the gym like he says. That'd plump him right up!

It's a shame that the top 2 posters don't want to share their pics with the rest of the family. All we have is a pic of one's back and the other's eyebrow. Smh.

I picture Dave as a mix of Rivers Cuomo and Kyle McLachlan.

I picture Archie as that fat slob from the Make Love, Not Warcraft episode of South Park.

Dave likes good coffee and loves a good piece of pie.

Apparently the embargo lifted off of Green Day Rock Band.

Some details about why pre Dookie albums, Kerplunk and 1039 was not included along with details about DLC ( there will not be any DLC ) :lol

I was hoping for at least some songs to fill in the gaps with Nimrod and Warning....

So basically this is a quick cash in for HMX/MTV Games that will sell off of the Green Day name alone.

Almost seems kinda Activisionish

Green Day Rock Band = Van Halen Guitar Hero? No it can't be that bad.

I wonder if there's an option to use their Dookie-era models for every song; they look a lot better than the American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown models.

Where were you when someone here posted his Twitter profile pic? Dave is one sexy beast, we just need Archie.

I remember when The Beatles: Rock Band was announced, I was very disappointed that they would do something that seemed so blatantly Activision... but then as the game inched closer to release, they continued to impress me with the setlist, additional features, the promise of great DLC. Over the course of it's development, I had gone from incredible negative towards TB:RB to having it be one of my most anticipated games of the year.

When Green Day: Rock Band was announced, I was far more let down than how I originally felt about TB:RB. Unfortunately, this time around, it doesn't seem like those feelings are going to change. Looks like this will be the first non-trackpack Rock Band game that I just skip entirely.

It seems like the game does have a lot of extra features to it, which is great if you're a fan of the band. Having a non-linear career mode sounds good, especially for more recent fans who aren't as big on the older stuff and vice versa. Kinda lame that they basically admitted that they didn't want to spend a lot of time making Woodstock 94 work, though.

"Foster also commented on some of the venues not chosen for use in the game. “For Dookie, we talked about a bunch of different options,” he said. “We considered Woodstock ['94] — that was one that was high up on our list — but daytime venues are much harder to pull off convincingly in these engines; they don’t look as good, which is why you always see things at dusk or night, or an interior. So that took that one off the table. "

Translation: we didn't want to pay for the license.

I'm bummed about GD: RB

I pre-ordered it for $50 one night which includes a free export... I was drunk when I did this and kind of regretted it after thinking about it some more.

blah... it's three "albums" and I hate one of those albums... so yea... probably not worth buying...

47 tracks of DLC basically.

I look forward to finding out what I can get for it used after keeping it for a week or two.

Fuck the haters, GD:RB will kick ass. I'm even more pumped up now that I see they learned some lessons from the complaints people had with the career progression in TB:RB.

It sounds a lot more likely that they didn't have anywhere near the budget as TB:RB had and they didn't have any resources to do it any justice.

EDIT: Looks like they made GD:RB with Dave in mind!

We considered big rock endings and tambourine phrases, and we would have put them in, but for the music that we were doing, there weren’t really places where they fit in, so we didn’t need them.

Translation: Green Day don't make the kind of music we used to want in these games. We've sold out.

So wait, are you defending BREs now?

Man, I guess Green Day hate makes you do crazy things after all!

EDIT: They changed the challenges for GD:RB.

The big difference is the challenges. The Beatles challenges were a way to have people revisit the songs, but it really just took a chapter and you played it again. With this, there are two main differences: One, the challenges are new configurations of songs, tied around a theme. They have a name that implies a theme and you’ll have three or four songs on that theme, and they mix from different chapters in the set list. And each challenge is specifically tied to a video. So we have 14 challenges and 14 videos.

And the last wrinkle is that you sort of “buy” the challenges: As you’re collecting photos you’re collecting what we call “cred.” And as you hit certain cred thresholds, you get to unlock additional challenges, and then each challenge has a prize. And you can see a little thumbnail of what that [prize] video is. So you have a chance to choose what you want to see. And they’re themed to different albums or periods of time.

Good to see Harmonix still don't understand that a playlist doesn't count as a challenge. Christ. So now you get 14 random playlists just because they wanna fill the game out? Smh. How about stuff like Guitar/Vox at the same time, finishing songs without using star power, I dunno. Something that isn't the exact same gameplay?!

Also whatever the name of that free song we got like 2 weeks ago is fucking awesome on drums. I'd pick it up even if it wasn't free. I bet that ending fucking up someone's FC as well so that's awesome.

How are the challenges in GH not "the same exact gameplay?"

I think you're mistaking "challenge" with "gimmick". The only "challenge" music games can offer come from the songs themselves and not from any outside intervention. I thought we had learned our lesson after the Battle mode fiasco from GHIII.
