In a shitty engine? No thanks!

I'm sure HMX is sitting on Black Sabbath for RB3 as well as some other big name stuff we've known about for some time.
Yeah I'm sure it's chilling right beside that Metallica 12 pack.

If there's not a Metallica song in RB3, it's probably safe to say the licensing deal fell through.

I can kinda understand not knowing bands outside of the radio. It's unfortunate, but I can see where they are coming from. But saying there is not good music after 2001? And why 2001 exactly? ARGH! it hert brayn
I can kind of see his underlying point, though. It seems like for every '70s and '80s song there's another two dozen post-2008 songs released as DLC.

Which would make sense given that this is the 2000s.
Yeah I know, but since RB is a music game I'd like to think that people would rather play some decent classic rock instead of Flyleaf's latest single.

I agree that some people would rather play classic rock but it all depends on your demographic for people that are actually buying DLC. Plus I can guarantee its a hell of a lot easier to license newer stuff and also you will probably never run into problems with masters.

On the upside, newer stuff tends to sell pretty well, which means they can afford to take some risks with more obscure stuff or put in the work necessary to get older masters up and running.

Glass half full!

Ok I only 3 starred Indigo Friends on Guitar, but I gold starred it on Drums. Man that song is FUN! :)

Also, officially passed 300 drum gold stars today as well. :D

I <3 Indigo Friends. Try and start each green strum on an upstrum and the chord on a down, that's what I generally do and can gold it more often than not.

To be fair, it's three more prog songs from a band that's already had three songs in the game. The lack of new artists in the genre is somewhat disheartening, RBN aside.

These challenges are going to be the friggin wet death of me. UGGH
How the fuck are you still playing them? It's 24 fucking songs...it seriously takes no time at all. And one of the challenges is only 2 songs long!

RB2 has the best setlist in music game history.
I'm not sure if you're being facetious or not...but it is a damn good setlist, despite all the hate it gets in here.

Hell, take the sample below and remove any 10 tracks you'd like, and you still have a list that's a lot stronger than the majority of music games.

AFI - "Girl's Not Grey"
Alanis Morissette - "You Oughta Know"
Alice in Chains - "Man in the Box"
Allman Brothers - "Ramblin' Man"
Avenged Sevenfold - "Almost Easy"
Bad Company - "Shooting Star"
Bang Camaro - "Night Lies"
Billy Idol - "White Wedding Pt. I "
Blondie - "One Way or Another"
Bob Dylan - "Tangled Up in Blue"
Bon Jovi - "Livin' on a Prayer"
Breaking Wheel - "Shoulder to the Plow"
Cheap Trick - "Hello There"
Disturbed - "Down with the Sickness"
Dream Theater - "Panic Attack "
Duran Duran - "Hungry Like the Wolf"
Elvis Costello - "Pump it Up"

Jane's Addiction - "Mountain Song"
Jethro Tull - "Aqualung"
Jimmy Eat World - "The Middle"
Joan Jett - "Bad Reputation"
Journey - "Anyway You Want It"
Judas Priest - "Painkiller"
Kansas - "Carry On Wayward Son"

Survivor - "Eye of the Tiger"
System of a Down - "Chop Suey "
Talking Heads - "Psycho Killer"
Tenacious D - "Master Exploder"
Testament - "Souls of Black"
That Handsome Devil - "Rob the Prez-o-Dent"
The Donnas - "New Kid in School"
The Go-Go's - "We Got the Beat"

The Guess Who - "American Woman"
The Muffs - "Kids in America "
The Offspring - "Come Out & Play"
The Replacements - "Alex Chilton"
The Who - "Pinball Wizard "

It's on par with GHWT as far as guitar goes. GH2 and GH3 are light years above any other games though.

The worst setlist not counting Green Day: RB would easily be GH5.

disclaimer: I'm sure RB2 setlist is amazing on drums, after all it is HMX.

He's having trouble staying wet while playing. He has to take frequent breaks because he dries up.

I wouldn't disagree with this but GHWT and GH5 are just as bad or worse. The days of fun on disc setlists for guitar are over man.
I agree. But seeing as the tracklists have way more tracks now then they used to, it's as much a case of inconsistency as a lack of good tracks. I think GHWT has tons of shit but is quite under rated in terms of how much good shit there is. I don't expect you to agree though :p

Don't worry, after the abortion known as GH5 I definitely appreciate WT's setlist more.

I just can't believe the credits song was Pull Me Under. Such a huge smh at that.

RB2 and RB1 both have worse setlists than any Guitar Hero game. RB2 is actually terrible on guitar.
You and cork are confusing the quality of the soundtrack with the difficulty/quality of the guitarwork in the songs. Your instrument elitism is bringing down your opinion down.

I'm with costanza (omg). Can't you play a song you enjoy, even if it's not difficult at all?

(Take These) Chains (tier 2 or 3 guitar) is more fun and better than Battery (devil horns tier)

Shaggy annihilated.

Considering I can easily take half of RB2's 105 songs and make an awesome setlist, I'd say it's soundtrack is far superior to most GH's, and, without question, superior to the following:

GH - 47 on-disk songs, a dozen of which are crap
GH80's - 30 on-disk songs, with some truly abhorrent covers (including Twisted Sister doing a shitty cover of themselves)
GHAerosmith - 41 on-disk songs...including 4 from Joe Perry's horrible solo album
GHVanHalen - 44 songs...with guest acts chosen by Wolfgang...

No...I do believe you misspoke...

You want my honest opinion? Stand up!

I'd fucking fall asleep playing any song on guitar sitting down. Yes, even Megadeth.
