does anyone here live in New York City?

Does the Village Pourhouse still do their Almost Famous Tuesdays with Rock Band??

sigh... I'm moving to NYC in two weeks and was looking forward to checking these out regularly. I've been once when i was visiting. I met a few guys from the Gurnkillers band that won last years $10,000 prize for the annual Rock Band competition.

I hope they still do something with Rock Band at the bar.
Yes, they still do. I know the guy that runs it, and he's always posting it up on his twitter and facebook page. They seem to get a good turnout every week too.

It showed up on NoE's release list for July-September.

I'd imagine it's a track pack, more than anything else, especially given the title of the game.

When I was a policeman in belgium I saw my share of results of disgusting accident, ringing a 2 o clock in the morning to announce the death of someone's kid is really depressing, especially when you've seen the state he was in.

I got rear ended once by a lady who had a dispute with her husband and had packed all of her stock in her car she had maybe a window of 2*2 of visibility left in her windshield, everything else was obscured by her stuff. She never saw us while we were stopped at a red light, she hit us at maybe 40mph, still shook us a lot, both cars were totalled.

On an another note 2 weeks before RDR :) I'm pretty pumped about that one

Good news :D

That's fine for me. I don't care that much for special venues and other stuff, anyway.

Another thing to point out was the playlist promotion that they were doing on Rhapsody in which users could vote on the preferred version of a given song was about 30 songs; hardly a towering number and definitely lends a lot more to the idea of a track pack. Think of it as the new AC/DC Live, but with (hopefully) better value.

At least it'll have Yellow Ledbetter!

I was just talking to someone the other day about how I was wanting some new track packs. RB:PJ get!

I just hope this track pack (if that's what it is) at least uses RB2 as the backbone.

Harmonix have a skill when it comes to picking bands I hate. So far they're beating Activision 3-1, although if a RHCP game happened (I doubt it) it'll be 3-2.

Beatles are the obvious exception. But seriously, fuck Pearl Jam.

Do you think they'd include harmony parts in the export? They could be part of the reason why this has taken so long to come out.

Could be a possibility. I haven't listened to a lot of PJ after Vs., so I don't know how often they use harmonies. I'm sure they'd be in there though if necessary. Seems a lot of recentish DLC has the harmonies in them.

Well, in the case of Pearl Jam, let's just say that Vedder is attached to a certain high up HMX employee. Why else do they have 2 albums, a few packs and a full fledged disc coming out.

Animals and Meddle. They're both better than Dark Side.

I said meddle = meh-ddle a few pages back.

I put the album on while driving in to work this morning though and I've gotta say...

pretty sick album.

I still think Animals and Dark Side of the Moon > Meddle though.

With the exception of AC/DC, they're picking bands that are still extremely popular and relevant though.

How exactly are AC/DC not still extremely popular? They sell out every large arena show they play in minutes and the Iron Man 2 soundtrack which is just a glorified best of album has reached number 1 in album charts across the globe. Black Ice sold a fuck tonne of copies as well.

If I'm not mistaken, Black Ice was one of the best-selling albums of 2008, despite being exclusive to one retailer. They're still an immensely popular act to this day.

When did the last Van Halen album come out? A decade ago?

When was the last time Pearl Jam were culturally relevant? Two decades ago?

I'm no defending the shittyness of GH:VH, but lets be real. Pearl Jam are awful and nobody but depressed 30 year olds give a shit. At least with VH the decision was made because Eddie is a decent guitar player. This is a vanity project for a PJ fan in Harmonix.

Because we all know Van Halen is much more relevant making daily appearances on classic rock radio with the same three songs we've heard for over 20 years.

The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 189,000 copies sold in its first week of release, the only independent release to top the Billboard 200 that year. It is the first Pearl Jam album to reach number one in the United States since No Code debuted at number one in 1996.[29] On the Billboard 200 dated April 3, 2010, Backspacer logged its 26th week on the chart, making the album Pearl Jam's longest-charting album since 1998's Yield.[30] Backspacer was certified Gold by the RIAA on January 28, 2010.[31]

Van Halen's last album was 1998, and only got to #4 on the charts.

Guess there's a lot of depressed guys in their mid-30s desperately clinging to shitty music.

I was trolling Pearl Jam before they were even in RB, so my conscience is clean on this.

That's what you do. :3

I'm the definition of fair and balanced.

As long as the PJ live songs are good versions, I see nothing wrong with this. Pantera on the other hand suck live (I have seen them live twice and heard the live disc), so we better get fucking master tracks for them.

Looking forward to the official announcement for the PJ setlist. I'm hoping we get a ton from VS.
