I don't like the Beatles and even that paragraph made me want to shoot my fucking head off.Dave's MTV article said:We were pleased with the performance of Beatles: Rock Band but we were expecting higher sales. Our core audience of 16 to 34-year-old males are much more familiar with Green Day music than The Beatles. This isnt a band that has been around for a short period theyve been going 21 years. They have a great history. It is in fact a much wider audience than some people might give them credit for. Green Day probably has a much higher awareness than perhaps The Beatles did.
Hopefully it does bombRewrite said:Well, Green Day RB can outsell The Beatles RB, but I still think it's going to bomb.

How do you guys think Rock Band 3 is going to do sales wise? Do you think that it's going to do better than Rock Band 2? I don't know if people outside of us (who still like it and still play it) will be excited for it. I hope there's no new instruments, but that's unlikely.

If this genre is to continue, it will need a major shot of originality and innovation.

TheGreatDave said:Well that'll be Harmonix's first GH game since GH2, so it'll make sense.
I was referring to new versions of Strats/Drums, but since "potential" new people can get into Rock Band 3, obviously they're going to provide instrument bundles. There's a part of me that wishes that they don't release instrument bundles to see how the software (the game only) sells and if that's good enough to make them more revenue (since new instruments = more money to make).Space Cadet said:When you write this, do you mean new versions of the regular RB Strat, new stuff on the Strat like the GH slide strip, or totally new instruments like the (god forbid) keytar?

Space Cadet said:Oh, okay. I didn't know how to take that. Obviously, they will have newer versions; I just hope they don't change the instruments too much, as I don't want to be in a GHWT guitar situation with that god awful strip. Regarding the bundles, I don;t thinkt here would be a way to get noobs into the game without having them. Most people would not want to scrounge around to find drums, guitar, and mic to play the game; even though it would probably be the cheaper option. Convenience FTW.
From the RockBandAide article: "Unlike the other guy, we havent been bringing a new game out every year. What you will find with Rock Band 3 is that first of all the music is great and it is new music, and lots of it but there are some new consumer features that you will find exciting.
I really like the sound of that.

Agreed. That's 90% of what this thread is, when it's on-topic.Ridley327 said:New music can mean a lot of things, like, I dunno, music that's never been in a rhythm game before.

MrOctober said:Because just about everyone in the show is named after or their name references a philosopher (or someone or something that gives you insight to their character) and if you look deep enough you can get a better idea about their character from the philosopher's theories. If his name was Thomas Hobbes it would be huge since he was a feuding philosopher with John Locke.
