On the flip side, the last machine I built turned on first try and even that made me think something was wrong. :lol

Well, I'd say the piss-poor launch of Rock Band 1 and 2 harmed TB:RB's sales more than the core audience nonsense ever could. Glad they're acknowledging their plans for Europe sucked ass, though. Even if it's incredibly late.

How do you guys think Rock Band 3 is going to do sales wise? Do you think that it's going to do better than Rock Band 2? I don't know if people outside of us (who still like it and still play it) will be excited for it. I hope there's no new instruments, but that's unlikely.
 
It's probably going to have around the same numbers as TB:RB, possibly a bit more with the correct marketing. Not a chart-topper, but maybe a solid fifth of sixth place in the NPDs.

The Keytar will sell 5 million units.
 
I seriously doubt RB3 will match RB2's sales, unless Natal is a success (:lol) and there's heavy cross-promotion (MTV advertising RB :lol). The genre just isn't nearly as popular anymore.
 
RB3 will be the final rhythm game as we know them.

If this genre is to continue, it will need a major shot of originality and innovation.

Because just about everyone in the show is named after or their name references a philosopher (or someone or something that gives you insight to their character) and if you look deep enough you can get a better idea about their character from the philosopher's theories. If his name was Thomas Hobbes it would be huge since he was a feuding philosopher with John Locke.

When you write this, do you mean new versions of the regular RB Strat, new stuff on the Strat like the GH slide strip, or totally new instruments like the (god forbid) keytar?

I highly doubt that MadCatz will just keep producing the RB2 strat.

I was referring to new versions of Strats/Drums, but since "potential" new people can get into Rock Band 3, obviously they're going to provide instrument bundles. There's a part of me that wishes that they don't release instrument bundles to see how the software (the game only) sells and if that's good enough to make them more revenue (since new instruments = more money to make).

Oh, okay. I didn't know how to take that. Obviously, they will have newer versions; I just hope they don't change the instruments too much, as I don't want to be in a GHWT guitar situation with that god awful strip. Regarding the bundles, I don;t thinkt here would be a way to get noobs into the game without having them. Most people would not want to scrounge around to find drums, guitar, and mic to play the game; even though it would probably be the cheaper option. Convenience FTW.

Good to hear you like it BBG, i got in on the Amazon deal when they had it for $45 + $10 gift card :D Cant wait to play it next week but with Alan Wake and RDR its not going to get THAT much play time
 
oh, well I thought the demo was fantastic. The game gets crazy and very challenging, Especially the elite races when it seems like they ratchet up the computer AI. there is no difficulty setting either for nubs.
 
Just wait till that Criterion Need for Speed. That shit's gonna be tight.

Yeah I knew that, I just think it was dumb to not give his name when the situation easily presented itself.

I actually liked Carbon and Most Wanted a lot but this is probably the next racing game I get. I wish there was a next gen Tokyo Xtreme Racer :(
 
All I know about Split/Second is that it isn't 60 fps, which is a crime for a racing game.

Speaking of racing games, I got to see Mod Nation Racers' load times in action; truly inexcusable shit.
