Hey, I got my hard drive!
Good news: it works. 360 detects it as being empty, and it's formated with a Japanese name you can easily change.
Bad news? The build quality is kinda shit, the little bit that goes in to the console like...bends. It works, so I'm not too bothered, but I think removing it one or two too many times could snap it off...

Anyway, I don't think I'll be picking up the HDD until closer to the EU release of the game, as I have just enough space to cope at the moment, so maybe the price will drop a bit before that.
However, if for some strange magical reason the US release is region-free then I think I'll spend the £80 as I need a new HDD for the export.

Yeah that's what I forgot to mention. It was the path I was going to take but in the end I just got the 120GB drive and did away with the 20GB'rs. It sucks that swapping hard drives between consoles is fine yet swapping hard drives on the one console is a nightmare.XShagrath said:

We really need more Stones in RB2. I would love to be able to play more of their songs. I'd also like to see The Darkness get in. I could never even hope to sing that high, but their songs are awesome.

Hopefully it will be fixed in RB2. Sluggo has said that all the talkies on disc are in complete working order, except for one in "One Way or Another". I don't know if "working" means ridiculously easy like Debaser, or somewhere in the middle, where you have to actually say something that resembles what is actually being said.

It was terribly terribly grating! You should at least have to say the right words. I am of the camp that talkies shouldn't even exist. *Every* phrase has a pitch, even if it is spoken. Therefore, you should always have to match the pitch, and it would make things much easier and more uniform than all of the broken talky nonsense that has gone on with RB1.

I have preordered Rock Band 2 from Play Asia, with super fast shipping. I am putting this much faith in the game being region free, because the New EA (TM) are a lovely company. I'm done being negative. BELIEVE.
But if anybody gets a copy of Rock Band 2 and a PAL 360 before it ships to I'm not opposed to info...

I have been told by a very reliable source. But is not HMX internal. If the info turns out to be wrong, I will slap them. Different source to last time though, which is when Helen told me. I will try and get confirmation from her tonight. If she signs on Facebook. It's a great way of bugging her.

People were expecting it to be region free? Man that was never very likely. Such optimism is always going to lead to disappointment. I just want it out here this year, but I think that's doubtful.

Although I am still waiting on 100% confirmation from HMX (though, I'm 99% confident it is region locked, leaving myself a little loophole) I believe we should start Operation: Slap EA. I will be at the Redwood Hoojamaflip for EA. We must find the name of someone who works there to slap.
