Struct09 said:Can't be answered yet, we don't even know the full list of songs that will be able to be exported. Best guess is that it will be 2-3 GB.
If anyone is talking about installation, they're probably talking about the upcoming Xbox 360 dashboard update that will let you install games to the hard drive.
StrikerObi said:Unless the No Doubt pack only contains content from the original S/T, Beacon Street, and Tragic Kingdom, I think it would have been a better choice to only go with Tragic Kingdom as DLC. Everything they have released past that album (Return of Saturn, Rock Steady) has been a complete and utter disappointment.
Also, the pack better include Spiderwebs, Sunday Morning, and Tragic Kingdom.
It strikes me as very odd that they would announce a bunch of full albums and a best of No Doubt when the "best of" No Doubt is pretty much the Tragic Kingdom album anyway. Much like Boston, they really didn't do much that was that great outside of one album (in the case of Boston, their original s/t).

Ouch. Getting shot down by TheGreatDave on musical taste does not feel good.TheGreatDave said:Because GH1 was enough.

Seriously Harmonix you NEED to make this happen.
TheGreatDave said:I've enjoyed some Incubus. I own a couple of their CDs!
Nah. I can't think of many of their songs that I'd care to play all that much either. Certain Shade Of Green is the only song I remember sounding kinda guitary, but it's been awhile since I've listened to them. Although that song with the Hitlers in the video was OK!

Any pack would have to have Hardware Store and Albuquerque, no contest. Hardware Store would be a hilarious vocal song to play, and Alb would be great just for the spectacle of it. I'd round out the 3-pack with This is the Life, just because I think it would be fun to sing, but there's plenty of other ones that would be great.
parasight said:Listen to S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
It will completely change your opinion on the band, because every record afterwards was just a shameful pop album full of ballads and whining. S.C.I.E.N.C.E. on the other hand was like Mr. Bungle/Rage Against the Machine/Red Hot Chili Peppers (BSSM era).

TheGreatDave said:I don't think I'm gonna play it again for a bit. I hate that song really, I always fuck up. Fast little hammer on sections of the same two notes aren't my strong point.
I just gold stared Last Train To Clarksville though, which has taken me far too long. That is one excellent song, one of my favourites in the game. Singing and guitar I love. Singing, especially, because I can hit that kind of tone perfectly. I get 100% on hard usually. Take the laaaaasssst train to clarksville!
By the way, I can't believe how bad I am at this game right now. Simple songs I'm fine on, but I can't beat that Megadeath song that came out. I'd like to think it's because I'm rusty; my hand starts aching really quickly, but what if it takes me months to reclaim my iron left hand of old?
Belgand said:I swear I hit 85,000 on "Last Train To Clarksville" on bass earlier today. After scoring I went and checked and found that it would have just edged me in for #1 on the PSN leaderboards. I mean, it's a pretty easy songs on bass, but this was my first sightread of the bass part. Somehow, however, it didn't seem to go through. Nor did the next two times I played it because I felt like I had taken a less than ideal path the first time (and failed to make much more than 80,000 each time). Grrr!!!
Sometimes it takes a while for my scores to get fed up to the leaderboards, but this is the first time I can recall that a score just plain didn't go through at all despite being online and logged in. It would be nice if there was at least a local scoreboard so I could content myself with knowing what my damn score was, but since this is bass I had to go through quickplay so there's nothing.
Edit: OK, so after loading it up again it finally managed to go through. This is a good thing as well because I was wrong: I only got 82,000 which, while still being enough for a very respectable 5th place (not bad for a first try), is not actually the same as setting a new high score. Glad it knocked me down a peg, or rather four. This whole thing also proves that if you're looking to set high scores and make it to the top of the leaderboards bass tracks of DLC on PS3 is the way to go.

saunderez said:That sucks, the repair company over your way must suck balls. I've got 3 consoles, 2 PAL and 1 NTSC - the 2 PAL ones have both had RROD, a launch one I fixed myself prior to the 2 year warranty and the second slightly newer I sent back to Microsoft (or Teleplan Solutions as the shipping label reads) for repair. The NTSC one is a launch console that is still working fine, it's a bit of an anomaly.

Hey all,
So there is a 360 title update coming out for Rock Band today, PS3 will follow and we'll let you know when we have an idea when it will drop. What's in it? A couple of things.
First of all - it updates RB1 so you will still be able to purchase DLC from the Rock Band store. Downloading this patch is required if you'd still like to do that.
Second - Lowers the threshold on gold stars making it easier/possible to gold star songs. This won't affect leaderboards as it only affects the threshold, not the score.
Third - Lately a few songs have had unhittable notes. This should be fixed now.
Lastly - It will allow you to export your songs from the RB1 disc to the hard drive for play in Rock Band 2. Official language follows for this feature-
Nominal fee of $4.99 (400 Microsoft points) required for export of Rock Band 1 soundtrack to compensate music licensors for expanded use. The following Rock Band disc tracks will not be available for export into Rock Band 2: * "Paranoid" as made famous by Black Sabbath, * Run to the Hills as made famous by Iron Maiden, and "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. In addition, the title update will also be released simultaneously in Europe. Tokio Hotels Through the Monsoon from the European disc release of Rock Band will not be available for export into the future European release of Rock Band 2. (* Indicates a cover song, all other songs are original master recordings.) Expanded usage rights for these particular tracks were unable to be secured from the music licensors for this feature.
