To reach the promised 500+ songs (includes RB1, RB2 and DLC):

RB1: 58
RB2: 84
DLC: 218 (including this week's Rock Band Tour pack and Megadeath album...at least according to a site I checked)
------
Total: 360 (you can't make this stuff up)

This means Harmonix has 15 Fridays left to announce 140 or more songs. Not even including the 20 mysterious free ones, an average of 8 songs have to be announced each week to reach the 500 mark.

The point? A lot of songs are coming! Also, math hurts me.

I must say that I can't believe these charts are exactly as bad as GH3's and nobody has said anything. Random hammer ons, ridiculous chord hammer ons, chop suey, it's all really bad. What happened to the guy who made the chart for live forever?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I cancelled the fucking order!

$96! That's like...nearly £50.

I've never had download speeds even close to this slow before on Marketplace. The Megadeth album is only at 18% after 50 minutes.

I have having same problems with all dowloads. I checked the download speeds from my PC, and it seems every few minutes the download stops downloading for a minute then starts up again.

I have my 360 hooked up through a wired connection, and I was thinking I had a fault in the cable and was ready to buy another one.

I guess I may as well buy an American 360 system now.

Why the hell would you do it like that? $60CDN plus a tiny shipping fee from VG+.

Because back when I believed in my own false assumptions, I wanted the fastest shipping I could get. VG+ usually takes over a week.

Some guy on CAG is claiming to have seen an MTV news bit last night stating a 12-pack of Beatles' DLC is on its way.

Any confirmation here? Sounds like total BS.

I expect people would have exploded if this was true, but who knows.

Rock Band is too dark and gritty for the Beatles. If they ever get in the game I want a filter put over the game constantly that makes the backgrounds colourful.

http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=Npeaen - Some videos of the DLC, Expert guitar.

But Rock Band has the Monkees, which are almost like the Beatles.

I'll let them not put the effort in for just one song ;)

Wow, the Dashboard Confessional song they've put up this week will be great for any annoying teenagers you have near your 360!

i think the overuse of shitty indie music is a larger offender than the charts but that's just me.

A couple of the music video shoots fit that description, and maybe the psychedelic trip-out effect from stuff like Grateful Dead and Black Sabbath.

Yeah, the Grateful Dead FREAK OUT effect does half the job. I'd be happy seeing the Beatles anywhere really, but the Rock Band "universe" doesn't seem any better suited to it than Guitar Hero, unlike most bands who probably suit the darket look of RB more.

Did they axe the disable songs you don't want to play thing or did I misunderstand them or am I an idiot and can't find it?
I haven't seen it yet either. Maybe it's unlockable?

Honestly the Beatles deserver their own game with a fluctuating art-style that follows their artistic progression.

Fuck, nobody is going to do it right and it makes me sad.

Listening to Natural Disaster by White T's...am I hearing Beastie Boy's "Girls"? Or, even closer in vocal style, the parody 'Squirrels'?

I know this is not happening, but here are Beatles songs that I think would work:

Get Back (Guitar great, drums would get boring though)
Come Togeather (Fun for both, after a boring guitar start)
Hello, Goodbye (Would not be a normal song for anoyone, but might be fun once you get past the intro)
Penny Lane (excatly the same as above)
Day Tripper (GREAT song for everone!)
Help! (Same as above!)
I Feel Fine (probably would be the best)

Needs more Back in the USSR, Twist and Shout, and Paperback Writer.

Some of the ones that jumped out at me on the RB2 disc were Uncontrollable Urge sounding like Misty Mountain Hop, (Had to look up the title based on some lyrics I remembered. Zeppelin song titles are designed to be impossible to remember) and Spirit in the Sky sounding like Boogie Chillin'.

I'd go with:

Day Tripper
I Feel Fine - Intro is so fucking awesome.
Paperback Writer
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Lady Madonna
Here Comes the Sun
And Your Bird Can Sing
Everybody's Got Something to Hide (Except for Me and My Monkey) - No one ever seems to mention this one, but it's great on every instrument.
Birthday - Same as above
Help
Helter Skelter
A Hard Day's Night

OMG Peace Sells..But Who's Buying is so damn hard, but yet so much fun.

The only song I have yet to beat is Bad Omen on Guitar. That solo is a bitch.

Something that hasn't been mentioned, but I think is an AWESOME change in Rock Band 2 are the new effects.

First, the order of them has been rearranged, so that chorus (the one that should be used most often) is at the end (flip the switch all the way) and so is the easiest to hit.
Second, the effects have been adjusted, and the flange is freaking sweet. A true early VH sound.
Finally, the Bass effects....Harmonix have nixed the echo (something useless for the low-register instrument) and replaced it with a kick-ass distortion/overdrive that works beautifully in a lot of the heavier tunes. Heck, you can even overdrive the overdriven bass in Battery.

I know most people never lean how to properly use these effects, and so write them off as crap, but I'm definintely a happy camper here.

That's good news, I'm not a 'serious' player and really enjoyed just experimenting with the different effects on lead guitar. Glad to hear the bass effects are better pronounced this time. To me these effects add to the illusion of a killer cover band taking a tune and making it their own.

The RB2 drumset is WAY better for rolls, but has anyone had problems getting the bass pedal to register? It felt like I had to stomp the crap out of it sometimes to hit the note. I ended up going back to the old RB1 bass pedal.

I think the Dinosaur Jr. song is one of my favorites to play on drums right now. It seems most of the songs are more difficult than RB1 (on drums) and I'm only like half way through.

And this is why, despite liking the album (it's a fucking thrash classic) I probably will not buy it. Oh yeah, and being just about as broke as conceivably possible. I just don't want more songs that I won't play very often because of how brutally hard they are. I'd rather buy songs that I know I'll play very often and think "Hey, that song's fun, let's play it!"

I don't feel the need to prove myself. I do that by having sexual relations with your loved ones and household pets.

Do any stores actually have the RB2 Guitars in stock yet?

I don't believe so, but I could be very, very, completely wrong. I know it was delayed.

I'm not buying any DLC, so obviously I won't be getting it, but even if I were buying DLC I'd probably skip Peace Sells. The title track excluded. I don't need any more metal tracks, and I don't like playing them in RBs engine anyway.

Harmonix lied, gamers died (after playing GG&HT in back-to-back mystery setlists). True story.

I'm going to be pissed if you can't remove single songs from your rotation. I've purchased full albums with the intention of removing a few of the lousy tracks through RB2's interface. This just isn't possible otherwise, since full records are treated as a single file in the 360's HDD interface.

In other words, fuck Silver.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think more what happened is they tightened up the bass pedal input time.

In RB1, you had to "lead" the kick. At least in my head, it felt like I was hitting the pedal a tiny bit before the note (not a calibration issue). In RB2, it's more exactly on point.

I might be crazy, but I think there's less distance to push down on the RB2 pedal, so that could explain the difference.

Baker said:

There's been a few times that I've been playing and felt the same thing. I'm usually aware of when and how I messed something up, but there have definitely been times where I felt that I hit the bass accurately and still had a miss.

So I sorta fixed my drums by following this tutorial on RB's forums in case anyone cares or has/had the same problem that I was having:

http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81358

Seems to do way less crosstalk now and I'm satisfied but I may mod the drums a little further if it becomes a huge problem later on by just trying to switch sensors (if that's possible) with the RB1 drums to see what would happen.

Either way I voided my warranty but I don't care, it works!
