WOOOOOOOOOOO i FINALLY 5 starred knights of cyclonia on medium, it was the only song i hadnt 5*'d in GH3 due to those fucking hammer ons/pull offs. A well deserved achievement :D

Congrats! That song kicked my ass in hard

WHOA there's a set for
magazine Rolling Stone
?

I WANNA PLAY DIS GAME.
Yep, it's the last major set in the game, graduating you to a "rock immortal." I'm surprised they actually got some real-world entities in the game like that, and Hot Topic, and some other things.

e: knights of cydonia isn't tiered properly in GH3, I can easily beat it on expert but fail miserably on welcome to the jungle, or stricken, or really anything from the second half of the tier list.

What do you want, Manowar?

not what I was thinking, but I'd take some manowar too.

I was thinking Blind Guardian, Therion, Disillusion, Dragonland, Pyramaze, Demons & Wizards, Mylidian,

and while not power metal, Evergrey and old In Flames would kick ass too.

oh look at me, there I go again

So...YYZ is our first instrumental...
Does that mean 'You're No Rock N Roll Fun' is our first song with no Bass track? (S-K only used two drop-tuned guitars)

In Flames would probably work, but the stuff you posted above is (no offense) ridiculous to try to put into a game that 'normies' play. You could probably get away with some older Helloween, maybe?

ok (no offense) but in a game where there's Visions, Thrasher, Blinded By Fear, Clouds over California nothing is too ridiculous. I would say some of the instrumental parts are too intense for the game, but have you seen the Dream Theater or megadeth tracks?

everything is appropriate, especially as DLC.

After listening to all the singles being released next week on DLC, I came to some conclusions.

1) File Hot Hot Heat under bands that could be decent if they didn't have singers that sound like retards.

2) The Cult: Awesome and weird at the same time. Not since the Pixies album have we had that...but the Pixies also managed to throw in boring into that mix.

3) Sleater-Kinney: HORRIBLE band name (totally forgetable) and a chick band...pass.

4) Stone Roses: Good...need more of this stuff (MANIC STREET PREACHERS)

5) Kasabian: The song is surprisingly good...I like the bridge...the rest is meh.

6) Bad Religion is Bad Religion...you either love them or hate them. I love to hate them.

No, they'll find something to make bass. See: Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

This browser based GH clone is pretty cool:

There's achievements too!

add me if you guys sign up.. username: costanza

Hey, thats my site! I am not sure how many invites for the beta Andrew from JamLegend gave me, so if anyone is going to sign up, do so sooner than later.

Add me as a friend if any of you guys sign up (already just added you Constanza and Dave). http://www.jamlegend.com/user/PacoDG

After 1 song

"You have earned 8/38 achievements"

Loves it.

I used Xpadder to get my Strat to work with the game. Bar the engine being kinda poor when loads of notes come it's pretty good. I VERY much like the way it shows you the global high score as you play.

Makes me feel like I'm playing Gran Turismo 3 again, which makes sense as to why I drive faster when the song comes on the radio.

Haha yes! It's what I always think of whenever I hear the song. So awesome. I had a GT3 mix of all the songs in it, and I blame it for getting my speeding ticket that one time :D

Question for people with a lot of DLC:

What are some DLC songs with awesome drum parts?

I don't have any DLC, so this is open to all songs.

really depends on what level you play on, but

RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH! easily has the funnest drum parts as far as first thing that pops into my head. then Oasis and Smashing Pumpkins. Also, Interstate Love Song. My Sharona, Joker and the Thief, Black Sabbath songs, THE BOSTON PACK! Hysteria, Avenged Sevenfold, THE WHO!!!!! SOAD, and if you're a god at drumming the megadeth pack.

those are my personal standouts, because they are varied and keep fresh throughout the songs. awesome stuff.

if you play on medium you might as well not care because they are probably all too alike.

I am quite quite partial to "War Pigs" and Smashing Pumpkins "Siva"

I have no doubts The Who will get recommended, but just keep in mind War Pigs, it's good.

(Also both System of a Down tracks are pretty fun drum songs)

Speaking of fun drum parts, I was surprised at "Come Out and Play" on expert drums. Sure it's a little repetitive, but it's fun.

As for DLC, definitely the Boston pack.

In Rock Band 2 I usually play drums on Hard (have yet to fail a song) and the hardest song I have played is probably Everlong.

Just to give you an idea of my skill level.

Thanks for the recommendations, going to d/l a bunch of stuff tonight.

man.. I just need to chime in again at how jazzed I am by next week's DLC..

though I do have one interesting observation. Interesting that the first on-disc replacement that they've released (tom sawyer) is coming out AFTER you have the ability to delete it from the game. I wonder if that seriously had anything to do with it....?

Anyway, I've given all of the singles I didn't know a listen and beyond The Cult and Stone Roses I'm just going to grab Bad Religion and maybe Kasabian... couldn't really get into the others.

Waiting for my us copy of rockband to arrive, but is the euro songs up for download? i.e. rock and roll star by oasis?

The album has leaked by the way (Dig out your soul). Great times.

haha awesome I agree. I remember when that song came out, in 03 I believe, and I tried to like the song but I couldn't get passed dude's voice.

The dude's voice is awesome. Without it the band would just blend in to nothingness.

Make Up The Breakdown is a good album, I still really like it. I never got in to anything else they did though.

The PS3 apparently cannot delete RB DLC. Even if it released several weeks ago, you'd still have the ability to have only the original version of Tom Sawyer when you first buy RB2, and if you bought Moving Pictures you'd have two versions of Tom Sawyer in RB1. Harmonix wouldn't delay the DLC by three weeks for such a minor "annoyance" that wouldn't be fixed in most cases anyway.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes to all!

Throw Manowar in there too! Add in some Iced Earth on top and I'm in heaven! *With Matt Barlow on vocals, please

They have a bass player when on tour.

Really? I've seen them live twice and it was just the three of them both times.

Both times were before "Show Your Bones," so maybe it's changed since then?

Yeah Barlow is the only way this is acceptable. Also Disillusion would be absolutely fantastic if it were anything from Back to Times of Splendor and not Gloria which was incredibly disappointing. :(

I'm fairly sure when I saw them there was just the three. Maybe they have somebody sitting in the dark. This was after Show Your Bones came out.

Yeah, I love how they're just spewing out tracks to get up to 500. My wallet doesn't love it so much, but screw my wallet. What did it ever do for me?

I have a dumb question. I Just picked up Rock Band 2 and it seems like some of the songs are missing? I don't see that Alanis Morisette song and there is another song I can't find either,. I'll edit in this post when I remember the name. Do you have to unlock some of these?

you get around 20 or so and have to unlock 60 of the rest.

Sweet, I felt I was missing songs too and am a complete retard for not remembering some need to be unlocked (the no solo tour thing throws me off)

Out of the DLC I've gotten so far (60 or 70 songs) I've had the most fun with the Boston pack. Message in a Bottle is a blast too.
