So, I just hooked up my PC speakers up to the TV and WOW, Rock Band sounds so much better with quality sound. I truly adds something to the rhythm game when the sound is great... especially when you play it loud at 2am.

But more on topic, the DLC this week truly is promising. I probably won't be grabbing the Rush Album but the Bad Religion, Hot Hot Heat, and The Cult songs are great. Good week for DLC. Too bad I have to wait until Thursday.

Turn the bass way up!

In fact:
Creedence Clearwater Revival 6 Pack
•Proud Mary
•Down on the Corner
•Run Through the Jungle
•Up Around the Bend
•Ramble Tamble
•Travelin' Band
OK, my post got me listening to CCR again...and now I have to add to this...
so, continuing the CCR 12 pack.
•Lodi
•Born on the Bayou
•The Midnight Special
•Have You Ever Seen the Rain
•Molina
•Ooby Dooby

You need to narrow it down a bit:

Born on the Bayou
Down On the Corner
Proud Mary
Run Through the Jungle
Have You Ever Seen the Rain
Up Around the Bend

There's your list right there.

Bad Religion-Suffer can still be on the list
It was likely misspelled, see: Girl's Gone Grey (should be "not grey") on the leaked list. Just going off iTunes ratings as well, it's not one of BR's popular songs at all and is 1:30 long.

Sorry, but Ramble Tamble NEEDS to be in there, as well as Travelin' Band.
Have You Ever Seen the Rain can be dropped.

Yesterday, I decided to buy "She Does" by Locksley with the 100 points on my US-account (I´m from Germany). Now there is a strange problem, it says "Can´t retrieve infromation from Xbox Live. Please try again later". Is this really a problem of the live servers or could it be because I´m trying to buy it from Europe?

Strange thing is that I´ve downloaded Still Alive back in May with my US account and it worked perfectly. Anyone had this problem before?

I am at 60 something downloads myself. I was scared when I saw the number too.

Back to my previous question, how do you get an encore with the Rolling Stone set? All I got was "hit the drums and make fireworks" finale to it.

99 downloaded songs for me :( But there's probably only 3-5 songs I regret buying and they're still fun on at least one instrument (They Say, for example)

Rock Band hurts my wallet

164 downloaded songs. I really don't mind spending all this money. It would have went to other games that I would have played for 3-4 hours and permanently shelved instead.

I have 243 songs to play. Not sure how many that means I've purchased, lets say 160 or so.

The problem with DLC is it's a complete rip off. Relative to what you get on a Rock Band 2 disc, the amount we have to pay for, say, The Who Megapack or Doolittle is just retarded.

I wouldn't buy a Les Paul when you could get a game and guitar of GH:WT for a similar price to $70 next month. Guess it depends how inpatient you are.

I just realised if that rumour of RB2 coming out in PAL 2008... I might just put off buying GH:WT. I'm way poor at the moment and I know at least a couple of friends who I can play with and later just steal from.

Please be true! Else GH it is

Adding my purchases this week my count will be 88, but I am deleting Limelight cover, so that will nix one of them (along with Tom Sawyer from the main RB1 set.)

I think I'm just under 50 songs myself, the only ones I sort of regret are the Angels & Airwaves one since I've played it like once (damn you pack discounts!) and the Wolfmother track (Fuck that guitar chart :( It helps me relate to the people who had problems with Woman in GH2 which I found super simple)

Oooh, do you win your band on the cover of RS if you beat that?

Also, anyone know where I can find a list of the Tour Challenges? I'm goin' crazy!

Says Mr. I can't afford a NTSC 360!

I am struggling at the minute. I don't have enough points for everything I want next week, and my bank is being a complete cunt; I'm right at my overdraft limit but they won't let me prohibit payments once I reach that limit, it instead just goes out and they charge me an £8 fee for doing so. I've been on the phone 3 times today bitching and nothing has happened. I'm an angry, angry man.

I'll find a way though. Rush wait for no man. Plus uni starts again soon, and that means £1000 of free money*

Money not actually free, lifetime of debt ensured

I'm hoping I win more points with that Stride thing. C'mon!

If anybody was around when The Cars album was announced, you may remember I thought it was retarded to put a nobody band in the game. After playing their songs a lot, I now really like their album. Are any of their others worth my time?

Holy Shit!

For those that it might interest, $10 off a $10+ album purchase ($9.99 = free) on Amazon's mp3 service: http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=927834 Has to be an artist under SONY BMG, you'll know if they're eligible if it says "Special Offers Available" on the product page.

I got Tenacious D's Pick of Destiny for free :D

OT I know, but we discuss music enough in this thread.

EDIT: Deal is dead

Rock Band 1 PS2 disc: £40
Guitar Hero SG controller for PS2: £20
Guitar Hero 3 guitar for PS2: £50
Singstar mics for PS2: £20
Rock Band 1 for 360 disc: £40
Rock Band 1 instruments: £110
Rock Band 1 drum kit reinforcer du-dah: £15

---

£295.

Songs

243 total - 58 on disc - 9 Euro stuff - 3 free songs = 173 paid for songs. Obviously it's kinda hard to figure all that out with bundles and different prices. Lets just go with "quite a bit".

Can you win more than once with the same email? I re-entered the same info about 10 times over a few days...

It says in the e-mail that they won't e-mail you again unless you won again, so I assume they just re-enter you in the raffle.

I already won, so I'm not going to re-enter my shit again just in case, out of respect to GAFers everywhere.

I just put it in again another 10 times.

Sorry GAF, I need the points :(

So is it correct that the jack on the RB2 wireless guitar won't take old XBL headsets? I tried to use the little adapter from RB1 with my regular headset, then tried to plug in the chat pad headset and neither appear to be working (though I didn't jam 'em in that hard, didn't want to break anything).

The guitar's great with the exception of that annoyance. :'(

Make sure you're plugging it into the smaller of the two holes (not the one with the metal ring around it - that one's for the drum pedal). I did the same thing, kept trying to shove the headset adapter into the pedal jack and it kept popping right back out.

I've won $4 worth of points from Stride with two emails.

Actually, I might have won $6, I haven't checked hotmail in several days.

And I may jump on the 4000 points = $40 deal. And I have 6300+ left over from Target.
And I'm trying to decide whether I want The Outlaws Greatest Hits, or Offspring's GH, or Pearl Jam's Ten. I can download one at Amazon for free thanks to Struct.
emot-ssh.gif

On another note, worrying about RB hardware is a pain in the ass. I need more Strat 2 impressions. Is it as good as the Les Paul or Xplorer for down-strummers? How would it rank compared to the LP/Xp? Etc etc. I'm tired of my Xplorer and its shitty fret buttons, and I want to upgrade to a Strat 2 or Les Paul since my RB1 Strat is too infuriating to use as a replacement. (Random overdrive, terrible strum, poorly placed whammy, etc.)

And I want the RB2 drums for the many obvious improvements, yet they're really expensive and I don't think I can get a lot for my RB1 drums on eBay. God I hate decisions.

Are you just entering the same details over and over on the Stride page? I literally click on the button to submit it, go back, and do it over and over again.
