Yep, I lost 1.4 million (and change) fans for playing the Hot Topic sponsorship show. I don't have a clue why it was so much. I did have the win/lose double fans staff member hired, but that means I would've still lost 700,000 normally?! Needless to say, I turned off my system without saving it. Pretty absurd.

Losing that many fans isn't that big of a deal. As BWT goes on the amount of fans you gain per song starts getting pretty high.

Why else would I be playing Train Kept A Rollin' right now?

It ain't gonna happen though ;) I can't even gold star it.

I wish it was easier to know which songs I need to improve on. I have gold on all but 5 now (final 3, Dead On Arrival and Creep) so I just ignore the other tracks, but maybe I could get an extra 20k on all of them, for all I know.
 
So whats up with the visual effects being taking out of Rockband 2 when you get the Unison bonus?? In Rockband it flashed and glowed right when you hit it so you knew, in RB 2 it does nothing. Some decisions Harmonix made with this game make absolutely no sense and is another perfect expample of this being rushed to the market.

I only just gold starred Train Kept A Rollin' & Flirtin' With Disaster today. Just got Creep, Run to the Hills and Pleasure (Pleasure) left.

there are basically two career scores that I am aware of. One doesn't include DLC and is the one used for the online leaderboards, and one DOES include DLC but is not used for any online rankings. IIRC that is.

I still have Seven, Can't Let Go, Timmy and Brainpower in the bonus setlist. I hate those songs so much, Seven and Can't Let Go especially, so I find it hard to put the effort in.

OH GOD I JUST PLAYED SEVEN AGAIN, I HATE THIS FUCKING SONG.

What's the new goldstar cut off for it? I just got 299k or so two times in a row.
 
The cut off for Seven is 302,863 apparently. I have a score of 305,927, but because I got that before the last update it's shown as just 5 stars despite being an adequate score for gold. I ain't playing it again though, at least not until I've GSed everything else.

Meh, getting gold on it isn't going to increase my career total enough for me to bother then. What's your Gamertag, by the way, so I know who to hate?

I just got 140k on Run To The Hills, which is apparently only 15k off the new cut off. I may spend a lot of time trying to get it, if I could just nail that little riff in the chorus I could maybe get it, I'm fairly solid with the verses now.
 
So everybody probably knows this, but if you turn on no fail, log into every instrument, and just let them sit there in a song, you can hear only the vocal track. It is very cool to listen to stuff like Bikini Kill or Talking Heads as you can pretty much hear all the stuff that tthe music hides in the background in their voices.

I think the song itself is alright, it might actually be kinda fun on guitar if it were like, a minute shorter. Vocals are great, can't remember what drums are like.

Drums are good, but, like you said, goes on a little too long.
 
You know, I think one of the worst problems with input lag is that I never know if it's the lag causing the mistakes or me. For all I know, I could have a defected guitar! ..... Maybe I'm just rusty. Seems like a lot of songs are kicking my ass when I know they shouldn't be.

I think I'd like Bandages a lot more if my ex wife hadn't listened to it all the time. At least I don't have to listen to her sing it anymore. :D

FINALLY, after about a year wait, I finally have my copy of Rock Band for PS3. (Could finally import when the patch was released). But need help in recomending song for download:

Got so far:

Oasis pack (best band in the world)
Metallica pack
Who: My generation and behind blu eyes
Boston: More than a feeling, Peace of mind
Heroes
DT: Constant Motion
Number of the beast (are the rest of the songs as good?)
You got another thing comin

And some other I can't remember. What kind of songs do you recommend? That are fun to play.

Bandages is the newest best song to download. It is fun for all three play type s(dont know about bass though)...
 
ION is really starting to piss me off, as I don't know the status of my orer, and they haven't replied back to an email I sent them 2 days ago.
 
I got some stride points, I only set up 1 account but it made me happy because I can use the points for anything not just rock band.

2 dollars never made me so happy.
 
I just started getting into drums I'm a medium drummer with a RB1 kit.

Should I try to get an Ion kit at any cost? (I'm poor but resourceful)

Should I get a RB2 kit?

Should I stick with my RB1 Kit? (I put silencers and have modded the drum heads the best I can for hit accuracy.)

What is the general consensus?


Also my uncle was the drummer in a band here in San Diego called Stress.

same here, its great to finally join the party even if most other attendees have been here for hours and are already completely loaded and boogying while i am warming up on my first lager :D Can't work out how the guitar playing is different to gh but it is somehow and i quite like it, also digging the bars after being a bit concerned initially. Looking forward to working my way through the DLC. BTW is the pixies dlc out in EU yet? Its in the DL store thing but i wasn't able to DL them for some reason i couldn't work out at the time (late and i had been out previously so admittedly wasn't my sharpest).

intrigued by the possibility of getting a mic stand for singing / geetar at the same time, is this kind of thing popular? Is it v difficult (i can do guitar to expert level comfortably on RB but i am not a good singer and have never played a singing vg before)? Actually an interesting one would be to do mic / guitar AND boogy on dance mat at the same time!!! You can have that concept for free for RB3 harmonix :D

that sucks. I ordered mine from amazon and it came when amazon said it was. alot of people are going to amazon now for some reason as ION is sending them stock before there direct orders.

If your going to be seriously drumming (hard, expert) then the ION is worth it. If your casually going to be drumming then the RB1 kit is fine.

If you just wanna be a badass though the ION is the way to go. it's a fantastic set. :)
 
Okay. I don't know why, but the Rock Band Store keeps telling me Moving Pictures isn't up, when it clearly is. I checked like a billion times, and I think I almost tried everything.

I think Harmonix hates me. Why Harmonix, why ? I bought both NIN packs ! Why are you so cruel to me ?

Have you ever seen them perform? All the chick ever does is walk around stage and bang on something rhythmically. Bass drum, cowbell, anything she can get her hands on.

I hate them.

I play the drums almost exclusively now. It took me forever to pick up the drums - but now that I have, I've made the switch from plastic guitarist to plastic drummer.
drums are fricken awesome!
 
Well I don't know how soon it will be before I go to Hard so I'll stick with the RB1 kit.

Now about Stress I must get them to Rock Band!
