I used to be a plastic guitarist. It was my main reason for getting the game in the first place.

I barely touched vocals and drums for the first several months.

Then I pulled out the drum set and realized I could play on Expert. And I realized that drums was fricken amazing (it was just boring on medium/hard).

I don't have a problem with expert vocals and I think I could pass most songs in the game. I just don't ever do VOX. I like the instruments more right now for some reason.

So, I was a plastic guitarist for 6+ months, but now i'm a plastic drummer. Drums are fricken awesome. Go drummers!!

Hear Hear. I played through GH1 through 3 but never really progressed past the hard difficulty. Being able to play drums opened up a whole new level of fun for me on expert. I just wish they would have picked less heavy stuff in the final set. I've got no drive to learn those.

Those are the exact songs I need star power for too. I can usually get through Visions without needing it but I usually try to save some just in case.

I think with enough practice I could maybe do Afterlife, but I'd need to learn how to play with two hands on the buttons. The other three just go faster than my current max speed, and I'll need to wait till my next 'level up' (ie. the moment you realize you're better then you were the last time you thought about it).

I just tried playing Constant Motion without using OD. Wasn't happening. The end of that first solo is nuts.

I hate how if I don't play for a few days my hand becomes super weak and it takes a few days of playing to get good again.

I can tap ok in GH 3, but with the timing window in the Rock Band games i'm not even going to bother. Afterlife and Constant Motion are just way too fast for me. I could maybe do the descending triplets in Bad Omen/Devil's Island since tapping descenders usually isn't that hard for me.

Once you know that this is someone you'd enjoy having more sex with is the time to see whether you actually want to hang out with them in the future. Yeah, same here. I was on a huge drums kick, but once I progressed to mid-tier expert level, the game went from fun to tiring, tedious, and well... not fun. Doing triple bass beats all the time isn't my cup of tea.

I was on a huge drums kick, but once I progressed to mid-tier expert level, the game went from fun to tiring, tedious, and well... not fun.

I had the exact same experience. Got to the final tiers on expert and just said 'screw this'. Ended up returning to Hard, and having a lot more fun.

Now I play Hard drums, with a bit of showmanship....Expert bass, where I'm most exacting on myself...and hard/expert bass with medium vocals for pure fun.

I've held off buying singles thinking that some day I'll want to grab the whole pack of songs for cheaper, but that's never going to happen.
And, honestly, I don't listen to music at all so the only song from those albums that I even recognize is the CSI theme song.

So yeah, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

And it's just a fucking awesome album.
After that, Moving Pictures.

Here's an odd question, any recommendations on where to get a decent mic stand for a good price? Or just in general what would be a good one to get if I want to do Guitar/Bass, or even maybe Drums and vocals? I was looking on Amazon and a few have controller cradles, but if that's just a feature to help them justify overcharging for crap I'd rather get something else. Suggestions?

Rush – Everything. Limelight, Tom Sawyer, Red Barchetta, and YYZ are all excellent songs you should buy, and you may as well get the remaining 3 songs for $3 (one buck a piece).

Megadeth – nothing. Maybe someone else will come in here and claim otherwise, but everything in that album is excruciatingly hard, terrible-to-listen-to thrash metal. Peace Sells on the RB2 disc is by far the best song imo from that album, and the only good one.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Under the Bridge is obvious, and get Breaking the Girl and Suck My Kiss as well. The solo in the latter is extremely fun.

The Who – Baba O'Riley, Who Are You, Amazing Journey, and Young Man Blues. I'm probably forgetting something else. Just don't get Eminence Front, though, it's boring on drums and tedious and not fun at all on guitar.

The Pixies – They suck. You likely shouldn't take my word for them, and therefore just watch some of the album's songs on YouTube, though.

The Cars – My Best Friend's Girl and Just What I Needed. There's some other solid songs on the album though, so wait for other recommendations re: this.

Judas Priest – The Hellion/Electric Eye is a must, so is You've Got Another Thing Coming. The title track is pretty good as well.
