I just rechecked and reedited my post. I wrote it incorrectly. I meant that those are the only songs I do like on their own. "In The Garage" was one of the first songs I learned to play on bass. I love it death.

Somehow when I wrote it I actually screwed up in a couple of different places. As an act of contrition I will now eat a bowl of raisin bran.

I think the Pixies are way overrated, but I do enjoy playing Wave of Mutilation and Here Comes Your Man. Debaser is ok but just sounds goofy.

Yeah, that's why I'm getting it. Although there may be a problem; what if the achievements are like...get 100% on a track? I don't know AC/DC THAT well, but...they're kinda talented in their own way, right? What if I can't 100% their guitar tracks?

but I wanna put the disc and case right next to my copy of RB2 on the dvd shelf so it looks purty.
 
Did anybody buy Song with a Mission? that was on my "to buy" list when it was 80 points but it went up to 160 before I got RB.

Worth paying full price?

What are you doing exactly? I have been trying to beat Ride the Lightning since day one and I cannot get past the first solo. I only have six songs that I cannot finish and most of them have crazy solos or the just plain crazy like Constant Motion.

Out of curiosity, in Rock Band 2, is there a way to play a single song - say a new DLC song - in the career mode? Or can you only play single tracks in Quickplay?

Just got the game last night and spent a good portion of the night playing the RB2 disc songs... Gotta say I have mixed feelings. I've only played guitar so far and I gotta say... the quality of songs from GH2->RB->RB2 has turned for the worse. Almost every song in RB2 is a strumfest of random cords with a couple (very good) exceptions.

Gotta try drums today.

Let's never speak of GH2, that game was a travesty with terrible song choices and most of the good songs were horrible covers. Rockband 1 has an amazing song choice, probably the best from the GH/RB series. RB2, i'm only half way through, there's too many chick songs and unknown songs but it's getting better as the songs are getting more challenging.
 
GH2 is better than all of them. GH1 was broken, GH3's setlist was pants and Rock Band's wasn't much better, especially if you play guitar above medium and don't like paying for a challenge.
 
I'll definitely agree there.

Guitar Hero 2 probably has the worst song selection out of any of the main games, and worse than GH80s.

It's not to say I don't appreciate the artists, but they picked real second string shit there.

GH2 has the best songlist of any music game on disk.

and here I was thinking it was the best, outside of RB2.

Not in terms of appealing to a general population. It's WAYYYY too focused.

Look at their choices.

Foo Fighters? MONKEY WRENCH
Aerosmith? Last Child
Cheap Trick? SURRENDER
Alice Cooper? Billion Dollar Babies
Alice in Chains? Them Bones.

I can go on, but when I think of these artists, I don't immediately think of those songs. I don't want to play Tattooed Love Boys when I want to play the Pretenders, I want Brass in Pocket.

GH2's list was appealing to a single group of people and basically just their elitist wet dream songlist.
