I think I'm going crazy here. I got a song that was sung by a guy but the track title had in brackets "(Paramore test recording)". Has anyone seen that in there game? I've been looking for it in the set list but I can't find it.
Cheese before bedtime, methinks.

Yeah, maybe. It was strange, because I there's only a couple of songs with brackets in the title (the Rush song, for example), so I thought I'd find it easily... but it's not there.
I guess I should have been paying more attention.

I'm sorry to post this here but I remember that someone created a thread with a list of all the RB / GH songs.
Does someone have the link of this ?

BAH. I picked up an ION set from Bestbuy last night, but the cymbals don't work for for crap. I've tried all kinds of different angles and tension with the upper screws but hadn't had any luck. Apparently there's a lot of people on the Rockband forum having the same issues. Clicking on the plastic part of the cymbal works like a champ, but the rubber where you're supposed to hit only registers about 50% of the time. There's no way that it should be necessary to wail on them to get them to register and 32nd notes are impossible on it. It's particularly frusterating considering how right they got the pads, which are much more sensitive then the RB1 set I was using. Are any of you guys with ION sets having this problem? I'm thinking the problem is either too much rubber padding, a faulty piezo, a poorly installed piezo or a miscalibrated brain. Here's the inside of the cymbal, under the mounting bracket.

The Piezo is directly under the rubber strikezone, but that is where the worst response comes from.

Well, when Dream Theater played live in my country for the very first time (2005 I think), Pull Me Under came up as an encore and James La Brie went, "You all like this one, don't you?" and the crowd went crazy. If that's not a clear sign that it's a fan favourite, I don't know what is. Even the band acknowledges it.

erm, it might classify as a 'fan favorite' but I don't think that necessarily means its peoples favorite song by them by any means, they have many better songs, it just so happened to be their first and only public single. I wouldn't even put it in my top 10 favorite songs by them. not even close.

I don't have the song so I can't check myself. But the most likely culprit was Papa Roach - Time Is Running Out, from the album "The Paramour Sessions".

Ah yes, that's exactly it! So, I was just having a sleep deprived hallucination that made me misread that as Paramore.

whew, holy shit.

so I just did both DT songs back to back on expert drums, man, those are the funnest songs on drums by far.

then of course right afterwards I went and tried visions, screw being tired!

I beat it without star power! :D (67k, 3*)

Fuck World Tour. I was doing the Rawk-Aid event in Dublin (or wherever), and it requires you to play two songs of your choice, and a randomly selected song. I chose two songs I could complete; Rock Band chose Blackened.

What's with Rock Band always "randomly" choosing the hardest songs in the game all the fucking time? I don't think I can remember an occurrence when the random song wasn't something stupid hard.

That's strange. I alway got something really easy.

Did it say something like challenging mystery set or impossible mystery set? Usually you can guage roughly what level the random songs are going to be by the description. I think the ones without the description either pick middle grade songs or choose from the full set.

Ive had good luck with those type of random chalenges. Ive had twice the (Get less fanns/money for an easyer song) and ive twice declined and got an easy song anyways

BWT in general is awful. I would pay for a DLC patch that just gave me RB1's career mode with proper sorting and playlist options.
Haven't we been over this? The ONLY difference between RB1's career mode and RB2's instrument-specific challenges is that you have to play the songs in each block in order.

Yeah, I got "Greatest Man Who Ever Lived" on random once. Y'all gotta buy more songs.

;D

I'm not talking about the process of unlocking songs, I'm talking about the months and months when I want to just go and pick an instrument, then pick a song, and see my scores. The switch from the old solo career mode to the new WT one has resulted in posts like Archie's saying he got Gold stars on a Panic Attack song and the game doesn't display it after the event. I'm glad they opened up WT to single player, but I wish they'd either made Quickplay better or just left a classic mode in as well.

There was no labeling at all, it was just "Rawk-Aid Benefit blah blah", and when you go go preview the songs it says (Choose Song), (Random Song), and (Choose Song) again.

So I just beat Impossible marathon part 2 (my hands are dying) and I was awarded "a set of crazy instruments" yet I only got the goat head guitar and I didn't get a new bass. Are the other instruments drums and a mic?

I'm gonna be screwed when I do random setlists.
Alot of my favorite music is metal and stuff I can't play.
Unless I get to pick what instrument (I'll do vocals on some if I need to).

Question: Do you get the see what the random songs are before you pick your instrument?

The easiest solution would to have stars beside your scores in quickplay. I'm not nearly as motivated to play and improve on songs if I don't have an easily accessible barometer as to how I have done in the past. No clue why HMX made such a blatant oversight.

Obviously it was more important to put album art there.

Album art is one of my favorite additions. I love it.

But look at this:

Put the number of stars beside the score. Easy peasy.

or behind the score, faded. I want to see my damn earned gold stars!

maybe make the numbers gold? that could indicate it. I don't care about any other star ranking, but I sure as hell want to show off gold starred songs.

No.

Also, I tried that Rawk-Aid Fundraiser again. The random song, instead of Blackened, was Drain You. Yay!

Just kidding, it was Constant Motion. Fuck you, World Tour.

Did anyone get the Steel Bladder achievement yet? How long did it take you? What difficulty did you guys play on?

I just got the Steel Bladder achievement, along with the Expert Platinum Artist achievement.

It took us about 6 and a half hours non stop. :lol

They really should let you save setlists in this game.

I'd love to create and save a setlist of my favorite drum songs, or vocals songs, or guitar songs. or my favorite songs to listen to. Or a setlist that includes all the songs for that instrument except the ones I can't play.

If that happens, I should be able to browse this saved setlist and have a select random song feature.

Even if they tried to argue that it would take up too much space, they could just use a gold dot (or gold star, or star inside a gold dot... whatever) for gold stars and a circle with a number inside it for the rest. Give us something, FFS.
Better yet, just hand the reins of the franchise over to me, lol.

refreshing beverage + quick snacks + waterbottle + sock = problem solved

Sock? :lol

I just finished up a ranked expert game a bit ago against an excellent player. I barely managed to squeeze a win in the first song (3s and 7s) but when we were randomly matched up the next round he kicked my ass on Limelight. We were going to go for a third, but unfortunately got matched up with other people. I looked him up on the leaderboards and he's number 3 in the career total ranking. :oO
