Finally!! My Rock Band 2 drumset arrived!!!

Im absolutely happy with it! A LOT quieter, really good looking and the bounces are fantastic.

My only gripe with them is that now I barely hear my fills, the "velocity sensitive" thing is pointless to me as I have to hit VERY hard to reach the "3rd level" of noise, specially the blue panel. So...I feel strange when I do fills....have this happened to somebody else?

And btw, I LOVE the bouncing, but im not yet familiar with it....I got 5 star on Everlong with the RB1 drums.....and yesterday Javaman Jake DESTROYED me on this song. (I had a lot of fun playing with you)....maybe I got too familiar with the scandal that my RB1 drums made that I feel weird now that I dont hear my hits.

Two freakish pizzas that I nonetheless love:

Herbie's Hot Bite
Onions, Sweetcorn, Bacon, Meatballs, Pepperoni & Jalapeno Peppers.

Hot Tropical Breakfast
Banana, bacon, jalapeno peppers.

Yes, the second one makes me a bad person. No, I don't care.

Yeah, they should really have an option to turn on regular fills. Or at least make it a lot easier to be loud.

It was a pizone from Pizza Hut. Not technically pizza. Regardless it's Pizza Hut therefore it is automatically disgusting.

Yes, this is like saying "I ATE POOP AND IT WAS BAD!"

I'm not opposed to mushrooms, but I prefer toppings with distinct flavors.

I do miss the one local place that used to use sauteed onions for a topping. Soo good. :(

My parents were Episcopal (i.e. Anglican) so we get a free pass if we don't quite feel like it. Or during the summer. We're the only ones trustworthy enough to get summers off. The important thing is that we're preserving the majesty of the Roman Catholic church by having a good deal of obscure names for very specific places in the church and plenty of fancy vestments.

So Episcopal is like going back to college all over again?

There are three primary types of pizza in this country. New York, Chicago, and California. All three are different foods, none of them are proper Italian pizza, all three can be damn good. I would NEVER put broccoli on a NY pizza, never have anchovies on a Chicago, and never expect a California to fold.

Also, Pizza Hut is shit, Domino's is shit, Papa Gino's is shit, Papa Murphey's is shit. The only chain that creates a decent pizza is Round Table (California style, mind you) but, for the most part, if your pizza isn't coming out of your oven, or coming from a private pizzaria, then you're doing it wrong.

WhoooO!!!

Just finished like an all day Rock Band 2 sesh.

Around the world, man. Unlocked the RS Challenge but don't have the energy to play for like, what, another hour? My plucky band of Lostaways fuckign killed it in Stockholm. "...And Justice For All" into "Bad Reputation"! Believe it!

(For those wondering about the crew from Paddy's Pub, I made Rock Flag & Eagle! for a Hard run through World Tour, so I still have a lot of work to do before I unleash that monster.) (Gross reference.)

Anyway. I never got to this point (obvs) in BWT in RB1 so this quite a thrill. I even played a gig in Tijuana! "Rob Tha Prez-O-Dent" is SICK.

And that new G'N'R song, I have to say, as much as the band sound is different, if Axl's singing...it still sounds like Guns 'N' Roses....

I was just watching the Food Network and this one restaurant made mac 'n cheese pizzas. That looked delicious and sickening at the same time.

just played the offspring pack
and maybe it's the pain medication I'm on, but the offspring have the greatest drum songs ever.
And the crowd singing along is so fricken amazing.

Yeah, that was a blast. Overall you won the night though! It was hilarious how we both kept loosing the songs that we picked at the beginning.

As odd as it sounds, I'm glad the RB2 set is having the same problem with the softness of the fills, so it should hopefully be a simple software fix instead of a hardware one. The velocity sensitivity is really screwed up, they either need to fix it or just get rid of it.

Yes, and yes. The TJ concert is awesome, everything down to the loading screen of the band at the border crossing is perfect. Not to mention is had song of the best songs in the game (Rob).
Shackler's Revenge is still growing on me, but it certainly continues to sound better and better. Hmmm..wouldn't mind Better as a DLC track. Actually, that'd be too fucking awesome, so it probably wouldn't happen.

The Offspring pack is excellent on drums and vocals, a few times fun on guitar and bass, but always great for a full band. The crowd sing-alongs aren't as good as they have been in the past, but I wouldn't call them crap. Then again, I have a speaker that seems dedicated to the crowd, so maybe I'm hearing it differently.
Anyone know if GH does the crowd sing-along thing? If not, I see it as a pretty big strike against them, as it's such an amazing feeling when it happens on certain songs.

Maybe if it was America's Next Top Idol ...and possibly a new Amazing Inventor Race to Be An Apprentice Superhero with The Stars! it would have a chance.

Mushrooms are even better, however. Especially fresh mushrooms.

You guys are my new best friends.

Speaking of Rock Band though, is the whole offspring pack good? I was thinking just pretty fly for the vox, I'm not a fan at all really

Of the three, I think I like Gone Away the best, thought Self Esteem is the best on drums.

The chorus is a little catchy, and everything after the solo sounds good... but everything else sounds completely out-of-place and random. And it sounds overproduced. And it isn't very fun to play. I finally beat it on expert today, though.

It just doesn't sound nearly as good as their older songs. They should make all of Appetite for Destruction DLC.

If you're not a fan of the songs, they really aren't worth getting, unless you're a big drummer. (Which I'm not.)

It's like being Catholic except you took out all the guilt and almost all of the religion.

It also tends to be fairly liberal. While there was the issue recently with a gay bishop (I really wouldn't have expected that level of controversy) my parent's priest was divorced with a child and the assistant pastor was female.

I've heard from other atheist friends about their crises of faith and how hard it was for them to break with the religion they were in, but I've never heard that from any Episcopalian. It's basically a matter of no longer bothering to go to church.

It depends. The Round Table about two blocks from my house is absolutely terrible. Normally I'd say that yeah, they're pretty acceptable for a chain. I've also found Papa John's and Pizza Hut to be adequate. Domino's is definitely shit. Little Caesar's, however, falls into realms so deep and black that I can scarcely contemplate it.

They're not a huge chain, but I've had decent results with Extreme Pizza as well. I certainly wouldn't go there if they weren't a block from my house with decent specials though.

One thing everyone should try is cornmeal crust pizza. Done right it can be really good.

Yeah looks like the go. With Colour and the Shape plus RB2 and friends getting GH:WT, I'm going to be inundated with a fuckload of new tracks soon anyway. Shouldn't be wasting my precious points since they're going to cost me 40% more when they run out :(

Oh it's definitely no classic G'N'R, but if you can see the direction Axl wanted to go in on a lot of Use Your Illusion. It's pretty terrible fundamentally and not something that works well as "rock music" but something about Axl singing it kind of keeps it from being The Worst Thing I've Ever Heard. But it's clear that Duff and Slash and Izzy were the masterminds of the "real" GNR sound and that the only songs Axl "wrote" where the piano ballady stuff. And "My World" of course. Now he's just free to do whatever he wants. It's not very good, but he does have that singular voice.

Oddly I totally didn't recognize him at first when I started playing San Andreas and I even knew before that it was him... it just didn't click in though. I'm just too used to his singing voice.

yeah, I hope they patch it soon...I definitely dont hear ANYTHING from the blue and green panels in my fills...this bothers me a lot. I think the pedal is good, it has resisted some sessions of Painkiller, Shhh, Indestructible and Devour....but im keeping my old reconstructed RB1 pedal anyway as a substitute in case of a catastrophe.

I laughed a lot yesterday playing with you....you pick Breaking the Girl and I won.....I pick Histeria and YOU won.....then you pick Message in a Bottle....i won....lol...that was cool. I look forward to our next match =)

I tried Rio with the new RB2 drums and I did a better score...in fact I have did it in almost every song I played until now....but I keep doing TERRIBLE at Everlong for some reason.

By the way....you are GREAT in that song....that makes me think my 1st place in Neogaf's Drummers is in danger =(...

For some reason the red/hi hat songs seem to come easily to me. Same thing with wierd off beat bass drum hits but I'm hugely weak in the 3 or 5 in a row bass drum beats (I think the end of American Woman has those) or double hits on my left hand. Also I'm horrible with almost all of the heavy metal songs. I can never seem to get those down. YYZ was a beast of a song!
