I'll probably pick up Kickstart My Heart & Dr. Feelgood. The other Crue songs in the game are mad fun to play, I wouldn't mind having two more.
Those are the 2 songs I decided to get, both are very fun to play.

I would like to sing Gigantic in Rock Band.

God. This would be heaven. If I ever get to make my giant monster movie for kids (DAMN YOU DREAMWORKS) I want the song Gigantic to be the themesong.

Even though it's clearly about Kim Deal voyueristically watching a couple fuck and lusting after the guy's big, black cock?

Man, you're making the kinds of kids movies I actually approve of. Five stars.

Also with "Kickstart My Heart" and "Under the Bridge" we're getting closer and closer to my idea of a Challenge/Battle of songs about heroin. Of course, none of them are the songs I probably would have chosen, but hey... as long as they give it to us.

Picked up the entire album. Time for Change and Without You are fairly weak (though still have great solos) but the rest of the album is straight-out fun. In fact, this is probably the 'funnest' pack since Boston.

Also, the rockpedal is pretty damn cool. Still getting it dialed in, but it's a perfect fit with the Ion kit.

I'm of the Paul Reubens / Soup Sales school.

This week's pack reminds me that about 6 months ago I found out a cousin that is the same age as me is now a highly paid "escort" working out of Texas and that she frequently "escorts" Vince Neil. That wrecked my brain on a number of levels.

I'm inclined to agree. I liked the Who pack, but some were boring on guitar. I liked the Megadeth album, but I can only pass half the songs. It's not the first choice I would've made for the next album (how about some more Motorhead or Mastodon or some freaking blues?) but it's really fun.

I'm gonna have like 8,000 points by the end of the week, so is there anything really good that I may be missing.

I have the big stuff like Boston, Rush, Metallica, and alot of the singles.

Definite pickups:
The rest of the Who Pack, The Cars: The Cars, and Motley Crue: Dr. Feelgood
The Offspring: Gotta Get Away & Self Esteem
RHCP: They're Red Hot
Devo: Girl U Want

Anything really good off of The Pixies or Megadeth or the rest of Blood Sugar Sex?

All of Peace Sells is fucking awesome.

Probably the best two songs from Doolittle for the game are "Debaser" and "Here Comes Your Man". Both are also, aside from the game, awesome songs as well.

Peace Sells is just classic. My favorites are Wake Up Dead (that song does not STOP on the drums... it's awesome), Peace Sells, Good Mourning / Black Friday, and My Last Words. Those last two are insane on guitar in R/L, but in game I've only tried them on drums... doable on Hard, but tough. My wife can't touch them on Hard on guitar.

Sadly my fingers aren't fucking awesome.

I, however, have frequently been told that my fingers are awesome. :D Fucking awesome, I believe, would not be entirely out of line.
Or something like that at least.

Still, not quite enough to want to pay for Megadeth. Great band, great album, completely not fun for me to play.

Hadn't really heard much about this, but the Peak Starpex guitar is an all-wood, full-size guitar controller for Rock Band and GH (well, before they both became compatible). Just launched and should be in stores soon. It's $180 and only available for the PS2/3.

PS3 Fanboy has a mediocre hands-on here.

Frankly, I think the actual repurposed Strats make more sense if you're going to blow this kind of money. Any of those actually make it out into the wild yet? When are they expected to drop?

Will Blood Sugar Sex Magic become available as a full album in Europe or do I have to download individual tracks? It's listed as an album in the Music Store, but everything is saying "PURCHASED" (which is faulty, coz I haven't), while in the PS Store there only the individual tracks.

Not mentioned, but The Priest album is a lot of fun to play.

BBG... wasn't sure if that was your gamertag or not. I switched from my HD CRT in the living room to my LCD downstairs and couldn't play for shit last night (almost failed My Last Words). So hard to re-adjust to the timing difference. Shoot me an invite whenever though man.

Ok, so earlier in the thread I asked if it would work if I imported Rock Band 2 from the UK to Australia and then bought Rock Band 1 here, imported the songs into RB2 and then returned it. Seemed like it would be no problems.

HOWEVER, someone on another message board mentioned something. Will the update that allows you to import Rock Band 1 songs into RB2 be available in Australia, despite the fact that RB2 probably won't come out here for ages?

I'm all worried now.

It should, there's no reason why the Australian version of RB1 would have the export feature taken out.

It should work, despite being region locked, everything else about it seems region free (can use US DLC and such)

It's an unlock code you buy. All it does is let your songs be ripped and then they're essentially DLC.

It should work fine I'd guess. If it doesn't I wouldn't mind shipping my UK RB1 disc up to you to use.

Sounds like he's concerned that Australia didn't get the RB1 update that added the export option.

The updates are the same worldwide AFAIK. At least has been the case with all of my games except maybe Army Of Two which had a seperate EU version

Speaking of GH2. I can't 5 star all the hard songs :(

I have like 4-5 left. I only tried them once, but it pissed me off. I WANT MORE ACHIEVEMENTS

Do you mean the hard songs on expert, or just the songs on hard difficulty?

I've got ***** for everything on hard, but I doubt I'll ever be able to do it on expert.

If anybody wants to play a GH:2 song they probably haven't played before, buy whichever pack has Bury The Hatchet in. It's fun. And Sin Documentos.

On "hard" difficulty. No chance in hell I would come close on expert

Off the top of my head, Trooper, YYZ, Misirlou, Free Bird and Hangar 18 (I totally thought I had this too) are on there for me.

I could prolly do at least half of those on another attempt but unless I do them all it's just wasted time!

You should go and do them all. Think how proud you'd be. Plus, achievements!

Practice, man!

I need to play GH2 again, I haven't played it since summer. I had 9 songs left to 5* on Expert, with my last play of Hangar 18 at 2.7 multiplier.

EDIT: not including the bonus songs, I only play a couple of those.

Honestly if it gets to the point where I'm practicing it loses fun instantly. Same thing happened when I got stuck on Freya, then again for Raining Blood.

Luckily I overcame those songs randomly picking it up after not playing for a while.

Perhaps the same will happen with GH2!

Probably. When I went back to GH:2 after not playing it for...like, 6 months or so, I laughed at some of the songs I only had three stars on. Like Stop!

Wow, is it just me or does Motley Crue NOT know when to end a song? Every fucking song they repeat the chorus 900 times to artificially extend the song's length way past its welcome. I guess if you're on guitar it's fine as you get more solo opportunities, but as a drummer I want that shit to end.

You don't have the Police songs, do you?

Yeah that's what triggered me. THIS SONG WAS HARD?! :lol

Then when I 4 starred Hangar 18 I ejected the disc.

The same thing happened to me. I recently went back to play GH2 and was shocked at some of the songs I had gotten 3 or 4 stars on before.

Maybe on day GH:2 will get the re-release it deserves. And the GH:Aerosmith engine I crave.

Well, it would could fit in Activision's vision of 3 GH games a year. It would be perfect in the Aerosmith engine.

Plus I could sing Who Was In My Room Last Night. And as long as nobody is bringing awesome DLC like that out, I'm all for it.

And it'd fit in with Harmonix's 5 Rock Band games a year too!

dreammastah said:
I have all DLC. Playing through 10 songs in a row is different than a few Police songs (and it annoyed me a bit then).

Repeating the chorus for a few minutes at the end of a song is a huge pet peeve of mine. It's like they couldn't think of any more lyrics, so they just repeat that until they get tired of playing. END THE DAMN SONG.

Well that's Sting in a nutshell. You should probably listen to the songs before you buy them next time to see if they become monotonous,

TheGreatDave said:
They should have just got Wavegroup to record an extra solo and thrown it in there. I don't need my music to be faithful.
Isn't that what they did for GH2?

Also, for anyone looking for 5*s on GH2, try looking up the star power charts on Score Hero. It helped push me over the edge and I laid claim to my merit badge and 30 nerd points. The only achievements I'm missing now are 500K on a song, 1M in coop, Beat Jordan on Expert, and all 5*s on Expert.

The Fred Meyer in Auburn, WA had Rock Band 2 (PS3) out for sale today.

I pick up a copy and take it over to the register, totally playing dumb. It doesn't ring up. I keep playing dumb. The gal working the register figures out that it's out early and can't be sold until Sunday. I play the sad puppy card. Doesn't work.

I HAD ROCK BAND 2 IN MY HANDS AND IT WAS TAKEN FROM ME! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
