None of those are new artists. Excluding the complete crap Guns N' Roses song which probably could count as a decade old itself the most recent is 17 years old. Classic, yes. Great, definitely. But new? Thankfully not.
Shackler's Revenge is such an amazing song! The chorus is so fucking fun to sing! It may be tough as hell on guitar/bass, but it's really damned fun to sing!

LOL limp bizkit, I'd personally love some Godsmack

There was a post a while back on the RB forums where a user was listening to a radio show where one of the members of Godsmack said they have given RB access to some of their music so sooner or later there will be some Godsmack DLC.

Regardless it's not entirely a new band so much as a formerly great band that quickly became a kinda crap band and then broke up being run by their crazed former lead singer and working on the same damn album for well over a decade... it's definitely not a "new artist".

I expect this to happen right around the time when Sarah Palin becomes President and we all sink into a new dark age as the world quickly crumbles around us.

Remind me to take a voluminous shit into a box and mail it to Harmonix. Hopefully that will soon be DLC as well since I have made it so easily available to them.

Yeah. I dont want Godsmack in RB. Do we get Scorpion King DLC for the Rock Shop?

Rock Band 2 has revolutionized music gaming with the ability to export most of the songs from the original Rock Band disc [3], Online World Tour, daily Battle-Of-The-Bands Tournaments, Auto-Calibration to eliminate TV lag, wireless drums, quieter, velocity sensitive drum heads, support for up to three cymbals (sold separately), No Fail Mode, and a real Drum Trainer.

Oh come on!

Awesome. I like Godsmack, and the great thing about their music coming as DLC is that you really only need one of their songs. They all sound the same, and I'm pretty sure the singer is singing about the same thing every song.

In all likelihood I'll purposefully choose not to purchase RB2 until much later in the week. I don't entirely understand the obsession with having it immediately and as soon as possible. I still have some things to finish up in RB1.

I played RB2, and I know why everyone would.

Just came in now, new?

Liars. I saw the PS3 version yesterday already in stores. I had it in my hands, but then they took it away from me when I wanted to give them money for it! :-(

I understand street dates, but I'm still a little miffed.

I bet its the song where the singer is expressing his need for space and how he is, in general, a loner.
I think the main lyric was... hmmm
"keep away from me!"
No....
"Fucking get away!"
no...
"I stand alone!"
No...
"Keep away"
noo...
"Taking a step back so I can breath"
no...
"hard to find how i feel... especially when your smothering me!"

I cant sort it out. I just know it was the one with the REALLY funny music video....
fuck...
nevermind:D

Wait the RB2 pack is 190 retail? Why is my local sams club showing it as 167? Usually there are price differences, but that is quite a difference, and bigger than normal. (And why I was actually considering getting the pack instead of just the game)

Finish up? What?

I can't handle the song select in gig mode. RB2 has much better speeds. Plus the old characters and money don't transfer, so it's not worth it to me. Just play the 3 songs that get left behind and shed a single tear.

I tried finishing up the last five DLC songs that I couldn't finish but to no avail. I guess it is kind of sad that yesterday was the last day I will play Rock Band 1.

there are some real douche bags online. just because you can play expert it does not give you the right to laugh at people who come in and choose a lower difficulty.

I just left the room. I mean what type of shit is that. when I play online I really don't care what difficulty people play at. I play online to have a good time and just jam. If I want gold stars then thats when I set up a private party and invite my expert friends.

then the guy messages me and asked why did I leave? because I don't like your shitty elitist attitude. I dont care that we are all expert players. let people play however they wanna play. >:(

when i play online, i don't care what difficulty people play on. since the track moves at my speed no matter what. i just wanna jam and have fun.

People often forget that the Scorpion King soundtrack is one of the best of all time...even the Creed song on that cd is tolerable (not the Nickelback song though).

Only Lost Highway soundtrack comes close with all the early Rammstein love.

You think that's bad? I just recently got back into playing Halo 3's multiplayer...

I was playing online the other day with Tiduz and I had to kick some girl because while she had some DLC it was all complete shit and I couldn't pick random songs without getting disc tracks or absolute crap that I wish I could somehow delete off my system, but cannot.

I don't care how weakly you play, but I do care if you have shitty taste or a lack of quality DLC.

Fun fact: Belgand once loathed a person to death through sheer force of hateful contempt after they professed that an inferior taqueria was, in fact, rather tolerable.

Alice Cooper DLC coming soon?

As if your television set doesn't get enough of the video game Rock Band, now comes Rock Band the TV show. EW.com has learned exclusively that Rock Band 2 The Stars, a spoof of VH1's celebreality competition, will air on the network's VH1 Classic channel and online beginning Oct. 15 (it'll eventually air on VH1, though no date has been set). Professional rock stars Alice Cooper and Sebastian Bach will play hosts to 12 wannabe rockers who live in a loft together and vie to out-skill each other in challenges designed to showcase Rock Band 2's new features. Rumors of a potential Rock Band show surfaced in early September when a casting call appeared on the game's website seeking "hardcore fans of the video game ROCK BAND to form the Ultimate Rock Band." Specifically, it called for players to "be a master of at least one instrument, and preferably excel at all of them." The show will air as six mini-episodes.

Combining game-play with general rock attitude, each week the contestant with the worst overall performance will be eliminated. Once it's down to three players -- drums, guitar and bass -- those two groups will back Cooper and Bach at a final showdown taped at Los Angeles' famed Viper Room. The winning band will then get to play in between sets at the L.A. stop of the Rock Band Live tour featuring Panic at the Disco, Dashboard Confessional, Plain White T's, and The Cab. That show happens to be tonight at the Staples Center.

So I work at a regional bank in Arkansas and we held our quarterly Sales and Service rally yesterday. They always do a decently entertaining skit (including one last year with a guy playing Ozzie Osbourne and including just enough drug references so as to not get fired), but this year they just had a group go up and be a faux rock band complete with English accents. Sure enough, they played Rock Band instruments. I figured when they were going to do their "concert", it would just be them pretending to play while the actual song played, but they actually really played it with all 4 instruments. The only one that appeared to be on medium or lower was the guitarist. They did More than a Feeling, and the vocals guy actually nailed it. It was really impressive and got a big reaction from a crowd that was about half young adults and half middle-aged or older. It looks like Rock Band is finally starting to break into the mainstream to surpass Guitar Hero in recognizable rhythm games.

are they fucking serious

I don't know about some reality show, but I'd watch guys like Kov and the Wong Brothers play Rock Band and Guitar Hero on TV any day (FULL DISCLOSURE: I worked, briefly, for the WSVG and totally fell in love with those guys).

Let's predict tomorrow's DLC announcement. RB2 PS3, PS2, and Wii come out on Sunday. Next week's releases will also be the last week DLC releases before GH:WT.

20 free songs? Some singles? 20 free songs and singles? An album? 20 free songs and an album?
