there are so many great 80p songs in RBN...this thing is full of win...

but I wonder if creators are really having some significant earnings from this....or, is introducing people to their music the main reason to participate as a creator?

I really hope they are getting benefits from this because I seriously want RBN to continue.

Skill in Final Fantasy, never thought it would matter. Not really pointing out people from here, but so many people bitch about how hard certain bosses are from the official thread and it's kind of comical. I hope whatever sequels come out stay somewhat difficult, they've been way too easy. This has been the first Final Fantasy that I have ever died from a story boss!
FF6 takes skill... other than that I'm with you.

Also, what's the damn deal with weapon upgrades? What's the point of leveling them up if you can get new weapons. And what if you get new weapons and they are worse than a level 5 Gladius? Do I have to spend the time/money/items to upgrade it on the off chance it might be better than what I currently have?

Your one of those types huh? I usually get so wrapped up in the story that I run from a lot of fights, as a result bosses are harder. But I like it that way XIII seems too easy. I spent about 3 hours on the Yunalesca fight in X. Oh and the Seymour one on Gigazat was a cocksucker too, but it was so fucking satisfying to win:

Don't talk to me about Seymour. I still fucking hate that guy.

Not very many weapons exist to just find, you'll have to upgrade at one point (chapter 11 :p). Gladius has good strength, but that's it, others have either good abilities or good overall stats to add to it. When leveling up weapons the ability on it improves as well. Gladius isn't bad or anything, but the weapon with ATB boost on it when level'd up is basically a second form of haste for her. Really lethal.

It seems like Chapter 11 is when the shit goes down. :lol Guess I'll keep an eye out for that weapon then.

Also the fight with Enlil and Enki was pretty fun. By the end, I was just switching Paradigms like no one's business to get what I needed done. Of course, I died a few times though. =P

I just cracked open the guide to read about that boss and it says nothing about doing more damage to him causes him to do less damage to you. I do know that he does moan and like fall over if you hit him a lot though. You're definitely right but even the guide doesn't help you know that.

:lol

Cork is just that good.

When/where do you get that sucker?

Pretty early, I know you can buy it in the shops. I think it's the Axis Blade. It has somewhat lower stats, but level it up and she'll be attacking fast. Throw haste on her and she won't stop moving.

Also, I was talking to a friend and he didn't know what paradigm canceling was so I'll post about it here in case someone doesn't know about it also. If you do a paradigm shift right when you either have a bar or after you just used it all, the ATB will be fully charged for you and your team. Can't do it more than once consecutively, but you can basically just have 2 full actions back to back. Hopefully that makes sense, once you get it down it's really handy. Just annoying that the first shift of the match does a close up on each member, but the rest is just a quick switch.

I read that last sentence as "Cock"

I fucking hated stupid Kimahri in FFX so I didn't give him a single thing on the sphere grid and then came the part where you have to fight his two brothers or whatever by yourself and it forced you to use that piece of shit. It took me over an hour. Now I'll forever hate that cunt.

I sure hope everyone does this already. If not, I can see why you guys think some of the fights are hard.

Yeah I figured that out early on. It's a free full ATB, and if you use it right you can get a stagger on tough enemies really quickly.

The only awesome part was filling up his sphere grid in anticipation. You could unlock so much at once because you never leveled him until near that point.

It came more useful later on for a quick emergency heal with all these bastards that like to one shot someone. >:(

I'm on chapter 10 and I haven't even tried to level up any weapons yet. I'm guessing I should start since I have no idea what I'm doing. Also I have like a hobo's coffee cup worth of gil. At what point do I get fucking money? I'm living in squalor.

Don't bother upgrading until chapter 11. There's a sidequest where you can half a million gil towards the end which will last you pretty much until the end of the game. If you want I can give you a little write up to help with upgrading weapons/accessories, I have it figured out for the most part.

Does anyone know what max level is for weapons? I have Lights stock weapon to lvl 9 and I'm reluctant to keep upgrading it.

Tier one weapon caps from what I have seen is 21 or 26. Tier 2 is 61.

I dunno, every game has been fucking bombing in price quickly after release recently.

And I don't think FF has as much mainstream appeal as it used to. Could see a quick drop.

Basically when it comes to upgrading you have 2 types of components, creature type and mechanical. Creature stuff adds very little xp but adds an xp modifier to your item. Mechanical adds a lot of xp but will take off the modifier over time. So what you want to do is apply enough creature mods to it to get a 3x modifer then put on as much mechanical parts to it to completely cap it for it's tier.

It takes 36 vibrant oozes to get a 3x modifying cap for weapons/accessories, and costs somewhere between 7-8k. Mechanical stuff is very expensive, but in chapter 11 there's a few parts where you can farm, or use the quest reward I was talking about earlier to just buy something good. I think the superconductors are one of the best money for xp thing to buy. Just save and quit first so you don't use too much mechanical parts, they are very pricy and getting money is the hardest part of the process. At least for me so far anyway, still trying to find some way to get money faster.

When your item has a star by it, it means it's capped. To upgrade it further you need to apply a catalyst which is a mineral. If you have the guide you can just look it up since it won't tell you in game. If you've done a decent job at getting chests you should be good for awhile until you're wanting to upgrade your tier 2 to a 3.

thanks for linking that Africa song. 1$ and an awesome chart? bought. I like the song too.
I was sold on it. Then the solo ended and it reminded me how shitty songs with double bass are in RB.

So you're saying the game takes a complete 180? Right now I dunno whether to be completely insulted or just resign myself to the fact that this shit aint for me.

RPG of the gen comes out in 10 days (and was delayed because of FF13's release date. Yet another reason to hate the game imo)

So you haven't played that either, right? And my guess would be you don't even own the platform it's on?
