I agree with the 1st part but trying to reach the next level with trophies is a big motivator on it’s own, not to mention increasing the number of trophies you’ve acquired.

I beg to differ, I tried the acheivement thing before trophirsd existed and kept buying ps3 despite boosting a 6k gamerscore in a month. Trophies show me how many hard achievements you have and throw an rpg element into the mix so they win.

Agreed x 10000. My RL friends made me buy it more or less, id only play it with them though. The squad DM if fucking great four teams of four versus each other to fifty, there's a tank too.

meh to PD, it was good back in the n64 days but alot of people are going to be dissapointed imo. its a game that hasnt aged well at all.

BC2 and MW2 are both good, both have their problems though.

Wow I completely agree with this entire post. Quite unusual on GAF.

I think PD is fueled mainly on nostalgia, and, while it might be pretty good, I don't think it'll be amazing like some people remember it being. I played Goldeneye (I know, not the same, but similar) last year and it's just not that fun. The frame rate is abysmal and it controls like shit. It just happened to be one of best and only 4 player console FPSs at the time. Nowadays...not so much.

The framerate isn't a factor anymore since the XBLA version will be running at 60 fps.

I haven't played Goldeneye/PD in 4-5 years so I can't really comment on the controls.

I definitely believe that an upgraded version of PD will be the best splitscreen FPS you can play on a console.
 
So I'm gonna be without RB for the better part of this week, more than likely. We're getting new flooring installed this week. In preparation, we gutted three of the rooms over the weekend (living room, office, spare bedroom). We had to move all the furniture, cut out the carpet and padding, and remove the tackstrips and baseboards. Both my wife and I are pretty exhausted, but it'll be nice to go back to work today and not have to do any physical labor.

We've got a neighbor who's a carpenter that's going to come cut and lay the flooring starting on Tuesday night and while he's doing those rooms, we'll be dismantling the master as well. If he can get the current three rooms done on Tuesday, then we can start moving stuff back in there after he leaves and I may be able to play Gaga, the others, and some new RBN stuff on Thursday/Friday. If not, then they'll have to wait until the weekend. FML.

Oh you can keep playing once you beat it? I spent at least five hours yesterday fucking running around in Chapter 11 because I was worried it would be my only chance to take care of all that stuff. I still can't find the last C challenge but I think I have a lock on where it could be.

You're probably right. However, just like every other DLC, I'll try to find some redeeming factor in there. Also, I'm sure there'll be at least a few good RBN tracks released this week.

Anyone know the best way to find a Slim nowadays? I want to replace my 60 before it randomly craps out.

All I have available to me in this hellhole is a piece of shit Gamestop, Walmart, and a 90% closed down Kmart. Amazon has some 120's in stock from Target but they're charging tax plus shipping which is just stupid.
