Rock Band Platform |OT|

Just popped in Rock Band 2 for the first time in like 5 months. Got the sort-by-stars update. I vaguely recall being told that the reason the patch took so long to come to PS3 was to sort out the legacy star rating mess, but I was playing quickplay and everything was under "Unplayed." What's the deal with that?

Everything is sorted as it should be in World Tour.

Also, Sahz is the only character I like as far as the plot is concerned, but Lightning is easily the best battle character, especially since I just upgrade all of her shit and ignore everyone else.
 
This gamestop promo code is only good for 1500 orders and the shit just made slickdeals front page. don't have time to download the demo

Maybe I'll just order FF13 with the code. That would make it cheaper than anywhere else anyway..

It depends. The cool thing about BF is you can be a great player without having to rack up kills. It has a strong emphasis on support techniques that, in theory, helps the entire team even if it's as seemingly simple as spotting an enemy. It's the biggest reason why it's the only competitive multiplayer game that I will find time for.

BF really doesn't play anything like MW, so I don't know why people keep making the comparison.

It's nothing like MW2. It's more comparable to BF1943 (an XBLA game...) which I got for free off PSN and felt like I paid too much. I've never been one for the huge maps, tanks and snipers kind of FPS game though.

An interview with Alex Rigopulus regarding Rock Band 3:

“Unfortunately I can’t say anything about Rock Band 3 at this point except that it’s coming this fall and it’s a big step forward for Rock Band. This has been a two-year development cycle on this title and it’s a pretty significant level up from where we’ve been. We’re pretty excited about unveiling it at E3 this year. Holiday 2010 release.”

“Honestly, we don’t spend a lot of time thinking about the rivalry between the two franchises. We’re really just focused on, not just Rock Band, but the [music game] category as a whole and what we need to do to get there. And for us, that’s just a secondary consideration.”

Regarding Rock Band Network:

“We’re trying to work very closely with our partners to cultivate the platform, but, I think for us, Rock Band Network is a huge aspect to the future of Rock Band. We’re trying to eliminate Harmonix as a bottleneck to getting content on to the platform. What my hope is over the next year or two is that there’s going to be an explosion of content that’s available on Rock Band. Far more if we were just licensing and producing it all ourselves and we’re already seeing that. In the first month after beta and after we launched the thing, there’s an incredibly rich pallet of content available for the platform and that’s just going to explode over the next few months.”

I think he's hyped because Rigopulus is saying that RB3 will be Lisa Lionheart instead of Malibu Stacey with a new hat. We'll see how that turns out.
 
God, please don't make it a real instrument edutainment game.

None of these games have EVER been a big step up from the previous one, so it's either hyperbole or something to fear.

I want HG/SS, but I have an awful feeling I'm not going to like it. I still enjoy the Pokémon formula even though it's pretty stale.

Well, the new ones are remakes of Gold and Silver, so probably yea.
 
I bought both of the last pokemons to play with my wife, we got bored of them quickly. So I probably won't be buying the new ones. FFXIII is superior though, I can say that without even having played the new pokemon. And fuck you sazh haters, I wouldn't get. Five stars on any of the hunts without his buffing abilities, 5 atb bars and haste ftw.
 
I didn't play a single Pokemon game after Blue then played my younger brother's Platinum a couple months ago and it seriously is the same thing just with different and shittier Pokemon. I loved it back when I was like 10 but wasn't really feeling Platinum at all.

wait why are you people comparing FF13 to Pokemon? they play COMPLETELY different.
