My ex only listened to Tool, Black Album and Paramore/Hawthorne Heights/other garbage like that. We broke up.

I bought the first MGMT album yesterday since it was on sale at iTunes. Holy cow, I haven't had an album make me want to move my feet while listening to it like this in a long time. Now where the hell have I heard "Kids" at before? I didn't realize it was them. Also, the song from the NeoGAF album (didn't know it was on there until I went to listen to the album on the iPod and that came up under the "album" section) was completely awesome, and I want to second - or third, or whatever - that vote.

To be fair, Ashour said he fell asleep while playing TWEWY which isn't even possible. It was probably too hard for him :(
I was gonna say that that and TWEWY are the only things ever to make me fall asleep unwillingly. Boring shit.
:lol @ TWEWY being hard.

I have a feeling you played it on easy or just have never played the game. Everything you say is the exact opposite of TWEWY.
I played for maybe 6-7 hours and got bored to death, I don't know if it gets harder after that.

Your entire existence is overrated.

I must admit, I'm a big fan of Nickelback - and not ashamed. I own every album, and have been to 3 of their concerts in Arizona - I think they're fantastic - despite having very little musical talent or originality behind them.

The mentality that a band should be musically brilliant really irks me. Not every band can be Led Zeppelin, or Tool or some other genre re-defining/unusual/indie - we need bands like Creed, Nickelback etc to create the cookie-cutter songs that allow the brilliant bands to sound so different.

Realistically, I'm not a fan - because I know full well that half their songs are piles of shit (anything remotely soft/ballady) and of the other half, only half of those are worth listening to past a semi-decent riff. But I can tell you right now - they throw a good concert. The songs that are good are really good though, I find that I can listen to them over and over, and still enjoy them. The riffs are usually catchy and the lyrics - while nothing mind-blowing - serve their purpose.

So yeah, ultimately I can't understand the hate at all. I can't listen to Porcupine Tree, or Weezer or Pavement or Vampire Weekend or etc etc, but I'm not going to shit all over them as if they were bad bands. More importantly, I think Nickelback might be one of the most talented rock bands ever - because they've managed to make 4 massively successful albums in a row - without people catching on to them making the same shit over and over, and they even fit some of the most unnecessary/gross lyrics into radio-heavy music while the teen girl fanbase buys their music in droves. Even more amazing is the fact that they are continuing to gain momentum, when most bands at this point in their life cycle are starting to lose fans, break up, or shift their focus in music - Not Nickelback, you can bet they'll make the same album again - and pocket a few hundred more million dollars.

Those aren't anyone we know, right?

Attention PAX East: The Rock Band Freeplay Stage Needs A Drummer

While the singer desperately tries to make up for the absence of percussion, the PAX East Rock Band Freeplay stage is clearly in desperate need of a drummer.

I clearly remember there being a substantial line to play Rock Band at last year's Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle. Perhaps it's just too early in the day, or maybe the singer scared all of the drummers away. As I wandered off after catching this video, his tortured screams followed me down the hallway.
