I don't know about that, every week there's at least 2 songs in the top 20, all major packs debut in the top 10. Also songs like "Don't Stop Believing" was in the top 10 for more than 3 months and that's just in the US. it's defiantly not as good as the 360 but there's a market for RBN on PS3.

Are you just getting this from the sidebar on the PS Store? We cant really tell how much they sold though if it is. For all we know it sold 20. I am sure that is wrong and i do agree there is a market for it. HMX sucks for doing this. I just hate the RB forums. Man they turned to shit. The slightest jab at HMX or complaining because of being a PS3 user and you cop nothing but shit. Those fuckers need to get out in the real world and realise that HMX is just a fucking company and not defend there every action. I mean i had some dickhead tell me i should complain that Halo was not on teh PS3 :lol WTF is this shit? Thats the dumbest remark i have ever read! Its nothing like the situation with RBN, and just goes to show how dumb and up HMX's ass some people are over there.

Deep down i hope RB3 bombs just so i can say Fuck you to HMX, while at the same time i love the product they give me, missing features or not.

I'm not sure why you're so down on Harmonix for this. RBN requires some way to have user-created premium content delivered to the public, and, as it stands, Sony doesn't have that capability. Utilizing XNA, which already had a whole peer-review structure in place as well as a financial system may quite possibly have been the only way to handle this. Sure, Harmonix could have delivered the audition code to the PS3 and Wii versions, but I sincerely doubt they'd be allowed to set up a financial structure separate from Nintendo's or Sony's stores.

Now, Harmonix has obviously shown that the 360 is the primary SKU when it comes to Rock Band, but it's not like they were getting any great treatment from Sony when they were developing games primarily for the PS2, so I'm not sure if I can blame them. And, yes, bringing the best of RBN to PS3 could certainly happen in a much timelier manner, but we don't even know what the issue is. It's possible that there's some legal red tape involved and that the rights secured for songs that were produced using the XNA framework won't transfer cleanly to Sony's camp. However, if songs do start appearing on the Sony storefront, then this all adds up to a casual annoyance and not something to wish their failure over. You seriously sound like you're going way off the fucking deep end.

Oh, and while the Halo analogy is rather absurd, there is a small thread of truth to it. However, I would have suggested this bitching is more akin to complaining that Hard Boiled wasn't included in the 360 version of Stranglehold. Simply put, it wasn't there because the system couldn't provide what was needed for its inclusion.

What`s going on here? someone gave the ok to have this thread be about everything but RockBand or what?? hehe,I thought I clicked the wrong thread... :lol I came in here to find some Hendrix impressions and I have news of Chuck instead ;)

Had another weird dream, this time it was about terror. Turns out in my dream, terror is a Canadian female Olympic Skiier, who was complaining she didn't get gold then we played Rock Band. I gotta stop browsing GAF.

I'm confused....over the past week or two there's been more Rock Band-related conversation than there has been in months...

or are you being facetious and I'm just missing it?

I came in here to find some Hendrix impressions and I have news of Chuck instead ;)

ooohhh...sneaky with the edit...I see how it is...

as for Hendrix, my take, broken down my instruments:

Vocals: Rather weak overall. Some good songs, but the difficulty comes from his slurred not-all-there voice. Of course, it doesn't help that the mixes on Hendrix's works have always buried the vocal line.

Guitar: Love it. Love every song. They're incredibly unique. Seriously, almost every track has you doing something that isn't seen in any other song in the game. Some real great use of chord HOs (fuck all y'all) and some awesome charting of incredibly complex licks.

Bass: Almost as good as the guitar. There isn't too much here that's challenging, but it's certainly never boring. Almost always just grooves beautifully.

Drums: Possibly the best of the four, and certainly the most challenging on certain tracks. Like the Bass, it's never boring, and like the guitar, you're encountering some rhythms that really aren't found elsewhere in the game.

Plus you had us Euro scum having shit to talk about half a year after the yanks :(

Wow, reading that made the anger of the shitty release dates come rushing back...

Fuckerrrrrrrs! :lol

I thought they made Frequency/Amplitude for Sony (and all the licensed tracks are from Sony's labels)? How much greater can treatment get than paying you to make a game and providing you all the content? :)

Anyway, long ago didn't Harmonix profess their Microsoft love by explaining the earlier release on Xbox was due to "Microsoft working with them to get the DLC working" or some such before RB1? Of course, that doesn't explain the RB2 dates...

I think they said with RB2, M$
See what I did there?
helped them with developing the game or code or something, that's why it came out earlier. Some bs like how the game would of came out the same day as PS3 but ms helped them speed it up.

I don’t really mind the RB2 one month delay, thanks to that we got trophies and an almost working voice chat.

Ah ok hehe,I just went like 3 pages back and it was mostly TV Shows talk ;) thanks for the Hendrix impressions.

You guys still play Uncharted 2 co-op at all? Hope so, cause I finally got around to picking it up last night. Hadn't bought a PS3 game in forever. Also grabbed Just Cause 2 and FFXIII for the 360.

Anywho... need some of you on my PSN Friends list. Only have like 7 people on there and 3 of them I know IRL got rid of their PS3's. :(

PSN: JCahill

OK seriously, give it another chance. The first few episodes are pretty mediocre. By episode 4-ish it's damn fun and by episodes 6-10 you'll fucking love it. It basically gets better with each episode.

And Party Down is sometime in April.
You're using the Olimario Defense? Come on.

Metroid Prime is awful. A disgrace to the Metroid name.
Hey I finally agree with Dave on something!

I thought Other M looked atrocious also. I refuse to play any game with a sideways wiimote. 3D exploration with a midget d-pad and have to switch to 1st person just to open doors and shit?!?!?!? No thanks.

1) I will play Uncharted co-op with you. I haven't done that in forever. PSN: Forensick

2) Why the heck did you get FF13 on xbox if you have a ps3?

Guitar Hero DLC

Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd kicks off the month of downloadable music on April 1, with a three song track pack featuring the rock anthem that first brought the band national attention, "Free bird." In addition, gamers will also get the popular singles "Simple Man" and "Gimme Three Steps" off Lynyrd Skynyrd's 1973 debut album.

On April 8, gamers can let the good times roll with the Fall Out Boy Track Pack, which contains three hits from their certified-platinum album Infinity on High. "Thnks fr th Mmrs," "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" and "The Take Over, The Breaks Over" will have players rocking out to the creative lyrics and catchy tunes that helped garner the band mainstream success.

"Gives You Hell," the 2008 hit single by The All-American Rejects, "There's No Other Way" by alternative rock band Blur and "Addicted" off Saving Abel's debut self-titled album will be available as downloadable singles starting April 15.

On April 22, the stage is set for Grammy Award winning French alternative rock band, Phoenix, to make their Guitar Hero debut. "Everything Is Everything" from Phoenix's 2005 album, Alphabetical, will join "Lisztomania" and "1901," from their award winning 2009 album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, to give fans of the band a new way to experience the music they know and love.

Driving home the broad selection of rockin' Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero downloadable music is heavy metal pioneer and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Black Sabbath, on April 29. The unforgettable and intense experience that is Black Sabbath comes to music gaming fans, as master tracks, for the first time, featuring "After Forever," "Into The Void" and "Sweet leaf," three tracks off their double-platinum album Master of Reality.

Wonder if Sabbath will come out. Other than that...I like Blur and will buy the Lynny Skinny pack I guess.

Heh... because my wife really enjoys watching RPG's which means I'm going to be playing FFXIII on the living room TV - a Panny HD CRT that does 1080i, not 720P. My PS3 is down in my office/man room/dungeon. Since the PS3 doesn't scale, I'm not guessing if I'll have to play every game in shitty SD or if I'll actually enjoy it proper. So if a game is going to be played in the living room, I get it on the 360. I'd much rather have some compression in the vids (which aren't as bad as the fucking drama queens made it seem) than have to play the thing is SD because it only supports 720P/1080P.

I'll add a few of you guys tonight, and hopefully we can get some UC2 in!

If Activision can get Freebird, then so can Hmx. They're probably holding it for RB3.
If that's the case I really hope it's not the finale. Not because it wasn't a great one in GH2, but because it's one we've already had.

McBradders said:
Yeah, like Freebird and all those Black Sabbath master recordings we have, huh?

Sometimes, Archie, you try a little too hard.

Come on, you should know this stuff by now;

If it's GH-> RB it's one less reason to buy GH.

If it's RB -> GH it's leftovers.

This is all in the RBGAF guide, man. /sarcasm

Considering 6 of the songs are already in RB, "more RB leftovers :lol :lol :lol " is a fair statement.

I can imagine HMX are sat on a literal goldmine of fucking awesome shit for RB3.

Bohemian Rhapsody
Freebird
The entire discography of the Travelling Wilbury's!

BE STILL MY TWITCHING PENIS!

As a gigantic Metroid fan, Other M fills me with lots and lots of dread with the direction that they're taking it with. Sure, the argument of "well, that's what they said about Prime!" can apply, but we know substantially more about Other M pre-release than we ever did about Prime and it sounds like the extreme conclusion to what was first started with Fusion. As someone who decidedly disliked Fusion, this is not a good thing.

Eff all you Prime haters, too.

4000 point cards are on sale for around $41 right now at amazon.

The 1600 online codes are at the #1 selling spot, so I'm trying to figure out if there's something going on there also.

There was a screw up where if you added 2 1600 pt cards they automatically gave you $10 off.
