GGs Baker by the way. Even though I'm rusty and even when I'm on my game I'm still pretty shitty. We can take comfort in the fact that we'll never be as awful as that fucking dude we played with first though. Let me know anytime you want to play. I tend to talk more shit than I actually have any skill though.

It appears to me HMX took the easy way out. They probably organised something with MS to use XNA which is crap, as now there is a 30 exclusive period, as well as only getting "select" songs. After buying over 600 songs, ION kit, Drum Rocker, you would think you could get the same treatment. Instead your left behind, and its rubbish.

Also Sony sponsor that Take The Stage with Rock Band tour that HMX does as well as a few other things, such as being the main game to show with the PSP GO! So its not liek Sony does nothing.

And on the analogy, i have no idea what that is in Stranglehold, so i cant comment :lol But i guess you could say the challenge rooms or whatever there called in Arkham Asylum?

And yes, i think that too is bullshit.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. It's not the software framework that is most likely the issue (though I'm sure it's a major reason why XNA was chosen) it's the financial one. Essentially, when you buy a RBN track, some of the money goes to MS for the servers, some of it goes to Harmonix/MTV/EA for the software and store front, and some of it goes to any one of literally hundreds of independent personal accounts. It is this final slice that cannot be done with the existing Playstation Store billing process, and it is not something Harmonix would have any say in changing.

The analogy works as follows: the Stranglehold special editions on PS3 and 360 were identical save for one feature. On the PS3, the disk also contained John Woo's movie "Hard Boiled" (of which the game is a sequel). It was left out of the 360 version not because of any deal with Sony, but because the system simply couldn't do it. Because of the additional space available on a blu-ray disk, the movie could only fit on the PS3 version.
To put it more directly, if Microsoft had not created the XNA, then RBN as we know it simply would not exist.
 
I hope in the future RBN comes to Australian 360 gamers. We have no XNA support here (pretty sure it's because of our god awful classification system), but it makes sense to add RBN support to our shores.

This post is mostly because Band of Horses "The Funeral" got announced this week and RB Bandits tracks are coming soon.

The Funeral was announced? I doubt that song is all kinds of fun to play but I really like it.

People, avoid Clash of the Titans. Without a doubt the worst movie that has come out this year. That movie sucked so much ass.

I'm with ya. I don't know how people can cope with shitty flash storage for MP3 players. But they'll never release a hard drive version of Zune HD, we just gotta wait till flash storage becomes non-shitty :(

Its getting there, its just crawling its way there. I had a 30 GB zune when they first came out and hated it, so I returnted it. I'm sure the touch screen makes it much more operable. For an mp3 player I prefer a smaller device, the only reason ipod touch gets a pass is because it is a phone too. I use my droid for mp3 playing now though. The only time I really use it is in my car though, for excercising and things that require a more portable device I use a shuffle.
 
Apologies for being on-topic, but what's this I hear about Free Bird coming to GH5 DLC this month, outright replacing the exportable Smash Hits version with a newer (better?) guitar chart to boot?

This true? It seems really... suspect. Like if Harmonix rereleased Foreplay/Long Time as DLC and it had a different drum chart. Wat?

The chart is actually worse in one respect; they've removed tap notes from the intro :(

As for why they're doing it, you can look at it two ways; fixing what they percieve as a poor chart and opening up the possibility songs off expansion discs can also be DLC (they also did it last month with some Blink 182 track), or getting lazy and re-releasing songs as DLC. Seeing as they've redone the charts I guess it's probably not that much easier than just putting any new song up. I assume they figure Free Bird will sell...

Had 2 bars with NameGenerated, which wasn't incredibly bad, but noticable. I'm up for games regardless at 2 bars and upward.

Nope. I got a ipad piggy bank set up and everything. Kinda glad it comes out late here. Gives me time to read impressions and find out if it can be jailbroken. I know if it came out tomorrow, I would have to get it. The reviews are odd though. They're all positive but none of them really convey why it's good. The reviews are pretty much reading like the iPhone reviews, just giving descriptions of what the device can do, but at this point, it can just do what the iPhone can do minus ebooks. Yet, all of them are saying the ipad is a "winner".
