Torchlight is fun for a couple days but gets really old really fast. Lack of online + lack of classes really hurt it imo.

14 hours of battery life? Really?
and only for $150 less than the iTouch XL!

Agreed. I played about 7 hours before I said screw it, I'm not going down another floor.

Diablo III plzzzzzzzzzzz.

Let's play along with this outrageous claim and assume it can do 14 hours. This is probably on lowest brightness, wifi off and minimal use. I bet that laptop gets 8 hours with wifi on compared to the 13 hours of continuous video playback on an ipad.

If it's anything like regular Apple batteries it'll be half of that in a couple months.

(I've owned 3 iPods, same shit every time)
Yea...I got nothing. I charge my iPhone battery 3X a day and I don't wanna pay the $100 because I'm sure a new iPhone will be out in a few months.

Yeep. I bought my psp on launch day.
Same, I even replaced the battery and it still happens. Although I don't think the newer battery is made by Sony (it was only $12) so it probably sucks just as much as the launch battery.

I constantly steal the batteries out of my Wii Remote for my 360 controller, and they are always fresh.

I was making the point that if Archie doesn't use his phone for anything compared to smartphone users the battery won't die. But the point is valid about how shitty the library is for the Wii is well.

I'm sure if you buy a real battery that won't happen.

I once forgot my fat PSP on sleep mode for 2 weeks and only 20% was gone.

It's pretty much never a good idea to do a movie based on a show, especially one that got canceled so fucking long ago. You should be happy that there's no movie really.

Didn't stop Firefly.

And that movie made 25 million and cost 39.

Who cares how much it made. I liked it, plus it had Dennis from It's Always Sunny in it for a couple minutes before he was killed off. :lol

Yea except for the faster processor, more ram, the 2 bigger, better batteries, modified OS, better speakers, screen lock, better resolution, etc.
Do you own stock in Apple?

:lol :lol :lol
I did a stock game when I was in college, Apple stock is good over long term...short-term, not so much.

Making the battery the focus of the iPad is the best thing Apple has done. It makes it so much more appealing.
This. 10-12 hours of battery life on a device is amazing.

I was talking from an OS perspective. It's basically a reskinned iPod Touch OS which is a modified iPhone OS. =/
Given what it's trying to be, that's a good thing.

When multitasking inevitably comes to the iPhone OS, the custom OS for iPad is going to be a lot better than a random tablet with Windows 7. It's not really a case of "not putting effort in". Considering what you want from these kinds of devices (good battery life, speed) I'd say the device is great. The issue for us normalies is price.

I'm sure we could say that for any Apple product, oh look at these fucking macbooks, still using the same OS, same thing for any new windows OS, how much shit they ripped off from Mac OS X, its pathetic.

Computers and pseudo-netbooks aren't the same thing.

I was talking about from one device to another. I can understand the iPod Touch having the same OS. It's basically the iPhone, but I wanted something brand new and fresh when it came to the iPad. Something customized to it, rather than modified from something else.

haven't had a chance to really test it, but it seems reasonable. I'll set it up at work tomorrow and see what happens in 9 hours with wi-fi on + full brightness.

So it runs pretty good, right?
oh yeah. It's speedy, even when it's running outlook and word and firefox at one time.
