I dig it. hell, vocals didn't even come in until 3 minutes and I enjoyed the song before that too.

nothin' wrong with extreme metal. hell, I love me some decapitated and necrophagist

hell, I'm surprised there isn't necrophagist yet. shit would be amazing on guitars. drool.

Whoops! I picked the wrong song on their Myspace. I picked 'Excruciating Thoughts'... Go listen to that... LOL!

Edit: Though I'm guessing you'll like that as well, my reaction still stands..

I'm laughing way too hard at this... :lol :lol :lol

Reminded me of one of the prank phone skits (Jerky Boys or whoever) that kept calling the lady "sir".

have you guys decided what the podcast is gonna be about? magical pony's I hope.
I figure the first will be a warmup with some talk on DLC trends and RBN then subsequent casts will be more structured. Really I'm just curious about how long it's going to take to stitch together before solidifying any real plans as that will dictate heavily how we proceed.

Guns of Summer...

WTF is this!!!???

I cant hit that horrid drum beat even in practice at 50%. I want a refund.
If it's any consolation, I tried it yesterday with a friend (me on guitar and him on drums). We made it to 6%. On guitar only, I made it to like 14% this morning.

It's definitely a bitch, but once you kind of get it down it's a blast. Except for the chorus part. That shits hard as hell. I squeaked by that song and got 4 stars on the last few hits. Keep at it and I'm sure it will click. If I can get through it I'm sure you'll be able to get through it.

But you like Lady Gaga. Tornado of Souls solo is pretty awesome though.

Those Black Sabbath and DT solos are amazing as well. But yeah, there are Sabbath and DT solos I like more.

Not even the best solo off the album man. A Rite of Passage solo is my favorite off there.

edit: DT is Dark Tranquillity. Don't fuck with the acronyms bro.

Emotion of song + emotion of solo make it the best man. As a send off to a bandmates dying father that was a perfect ending to a tribute song.

Dream Theater was around first, they get dibs on the acronym as by the Law of Firsties.

We can't have rules like that, or The Two Towers gets TTT over Tekken Tag Tournament and Star Craft gets SC over Soul Calibur. That just isn't right....

DT never released albums as bad as Systematic Chaos and Octavarium.

also, Dark Tranquillity formed in 89 and Dream Theater changed their name from Majesty in 89. Fair game, Dark Tranquillity wins.

Subsection 1 of the law (the exemption) states whomever if referred to by the acronym first is given firsties.

I demand references that Dark Tranquility was using DT before Dream Theater.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Tranquillity

and Dream Theater changed their name in 1989, yes yes. That doesn't say when during the year it happened. Also, it looks like Dream Theater released their first real album in 1989 under their new moniker, while Dark Tranquility didn't do an album until 1993.

Oh, and this too:

Dark Tranquillity was formed in 1989 by vocalist and guitarist Mikael Stanne & guitarist Niklas Sundin, who looked at their influences and then decided to form their own band under the name Septic Broiler.

In 1990, the band recorded a demo cassette tape entitled Enfeebled Earth before they would change their name to Dark Tranquillity and change their musical style.

QED bitch.

QED bitch.
but Dream Theater is American and Dark Tranquillity is from Gothenburg, Sweden. Dark Tranquillity wins by default, silly American.
