What are you guys? A bunch of 16 year old girls? Beer is not an accquired taste and its probably one of the most delicious beverages created, the darker and thicker the better imo. I suppose domestic beer could be an accquired taste because it tastes like watered down beer, coors light *shudders* for example nearly tastes like beer flavoured water.

I have tried many, many types of beers (my parents are basically beer connoisseurs, they will not drink the average Joe domestics) and every kind I've tried tasted bad to me. It's like diet soda for me: No matter what, I can always taste the sweetener, and it tastes terrible.

Fair enough, at least you have tried some good (and bad I assume) IPAs. I can think of 3 people I hang out with on a regular basis that don't like beer, its always skewed like that from my experience too. I guess there aren't many people in this thread that have an affinity for a cold beer.

Well, you know, Vanilla Coke isn't even out here, so I can't really judge.

If you want to taste what vanilla coke tastes like just mix regular coke with some Captain Morgan's spiced rum. Taste's like vanilla coke plus it's alcohol.

smh at those who don't like alcohol. I've never been drunk once in my life and I still love the stuff.

Edit: I don't really like beer all that much. Except Shiner Bock. It tastes like Brown sunshine.

They're a really good indie band with great guitar and drum work. I wish they were in RB because they'd be so much fun. Their new album isn't that great though, listen to their EP "They Make Beer Commercials Like This".
Menos el Oso is also a great album.

I certainly like good beers. Problem is, I can't even buy them myself. sadface

I used to hate alcohol for many years. I never thought it would be my thing, then I started drinking different stuff, shots, mixed drinks, beers. In fact, my first beer was a Dos Equis. I tend to prefer Mexican beers. It's probably the Mexican in me. Ja ja. Eventually, I've grown to like it. I rarely drink now though. Maybe once every blue moon. Speaking of which, I've come to love Blue Moon beer. :lol

I don't understand why anyone doesn't drink alcohol. This "Straight Edge" thing is hiding some sort of emotional problems.

I dont understand why anybody would want to drink alcohol, needing a buzz to fit in? to be "loose" to be happpy? If anything drinking alcohol is hiding some sort of emotional problems.

It's not a case of needing it though. There's a difference between alcoholism and casual drinking.

Its a pretty rare occasion that I drink. Like once every few months and even then, I don't go and get wasted. I don't even see the point of having a beer with your meal if your not getting drunk off it.

Alcohol doesn't make some some drooling idiot crawling on the floor eating mud. It affects your mood slightly, it doesn't change who you are.

Update the OP.

I just bought the No Doubt album...
blame Amusix

It is a REALLY nice album for drums. EVERY song had something interesting, very nice rolls and cool hi hat rhytms everywhere...

Tragic Kingdom is FANTASTIC.

I would list it in my Top Ten of the year so far. Simply incredible. I loved this song.

I recommend buying the whole album...if you dont want it, be sure to get Tragic Kingdom...whatever instrument you like to play.

Edit: Thanks Amusix for your very useful insight analysis. Also thanks Wired for keeping in touch with everything.

I've been to Penny Lane though!

Is there anything really to do at Abbey Road? They don't give tours or anything, right? Is it kind of like, "hey look, there's the crosswalk and there's the door." And then by law you have to take a picture of you crossing it?

Ravien I really don't understand your line of thinking, why can't you have a pint or two casually without getting drunk? I think it's much more unacceptable to buy a case of beer and think "I'm gonna get stupid fucked up tonight" I have some friends like this and think that drinking one or two drinks is a "waste" which I think is completely backwards. I rarely get shitfaced, the last time was at a friends birthday outting and people kept buying shots and I just kept drinking them :lol

It's just a street. There's not much to tour. I think I've maybe been there once, but if I have was young...

When my girlfriend was at uni in Liverpool, she lived about 5 minutes away from Penny Lane. So it kinda lost it's appeal quickly.

I just don't drink enough, so beer used to be pretty gross to me. Its an acquired taste and now, I can drink almost any beer without gagging. Cold Beer is always good, but if you're having a meal, the last drink I want is Beer usually. There's always gonna be a better drink to have that isn't alcohol, so whats the point? 1-2 beers usually isn't enough for the average person to even get buzzed so I dunno. I'm with you though, I've never been shitfaced, just really drunk, and I always regret it.

The real question is; did you go to the barber shop?

The only food that beer really meshes with, in my opinion anyways, is pizza. I rarely order beer with food, unless I'm at a steak house with friends or something then we'll drink a beer to pass the time, not necessarily to drink with the food.

EDIT: How could I forget BBQ? Beer and BBQ in the summer is just about the best thing ever.

This doesn't even make sense. Sure, the beer tastes terrible but parties aren't fun? What do you do during birthdays?

Wings. Or Chinese food. Also, any food while drunk is amazing.

I'm talking about the typical college party. Drink terrible liquid while listening to even worse music as everyone is smushed into a tiny frat house. At least that's been my experience on multiple occasions.

Ahh ok. I've only experienced that sort of party twice, they were alright. Lots of girls usually. I just hate the bar/club scene. Actually, its more of the club scene. Nothings better than going downtown to a bar with some friends, drinking some beer, watching the game, etc but whenever they go to clubs with dancing and shit, and you gotta yell to talk to people, fuck that.

I went to a club in Florence, fucking horrible experience. It was all drunk college kids dancing to shitty American music. Everyone had a Guido haircut and they were all dressed like they were ripped right out of Jersey Shore.
