Community sucked.

Also, Dane Cook > Mencia. If only because Cook was funny at one point.
How old were you at the time, though? I can't believe some of the stuff I've liked in hindsight. I still never had worse taste than Costanza.

Hallowed live is infinitely superior to the studio version...In fact I cant think of a Maiden song that is better in its studio form.

Every time I hear "Rock Band 3" and "innovation"...I fear...and get scared.

I dont know if Im the only one...

Pedro - I don't think you should be worried.

The press releases for Green Day Rock Band say you can export the full track list into "Rock Band 2 and Rock Band 3"

this almost guarantees that the core style gameplay we all know and love will be present in Rock Band 3... yes there may be new "learn to play" modes but there's no way Harmonix would turn their back on all the past DLC releases / past exports / upcoming RBN dlc.

but yea... if you're just afraid of Harmonix falling flat on their face... that's definitely a possibility. I've played guitar since I was in middle school and would love the chance to "learn" the songs in Rock Band 3.

I'm thinking they'll continue selling $2 DLC but offer $4 or $5 dollar tracks that come with lessons or updated charts. Honestly - this would probably open the floodgates to a lot of artists who have held out in the past because they want today's generation of youngsters to pick up a real instrument and not play games (i.e. Prince / Led Zeppelin)

uses your music collection and turns it into a level. It's geo wars mixed with audiosurf.

I bought it in the Indie marketplace. It's 5$ cheaper and you can use WMP sharing with it.

Super 8 Trailer=I RIDE THE J.J. ABRAMS HYPE TRAIN TO HAPPY TOWN!
It was basically the Cloverfield thing, so meh at that. Also my friend and I couldn't help but laugh because Super 8 is a chain of motels. :lol

Yeah, Iron Man 2 was a lot of fun, outside of the momentum-killing daddy issues sequence. That was probably the most epic use of pepper spray ever.

But I mean the "teaser". It's dumb and hardly shows anything. It makes me want to punch JJ, not see his movie.

Teaser. A word to tease you. Teases don't show much. Thats why it's fun. Your missing the point. That's like asking a stripper to immediately take all her clothes off as soon as you get to the club.

The studio version of Hallowed is too damn slow. The best thing they ever did was speed it up.
Yes and that what makes it better. The song is about a person waiting for his death not a person on ecstasy lol. The live versions are excellent and are perfect for concerts and head banging moments, but the original is perfect as a song.

Podcast Call

Looking for 3-4 people for Saturday Afternoon: 4 or 5pm EST obviously we will get together for about 30 minutes beforehand to make sure we're all ready etc. before going.

You will need the following;

Skype: http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/home

Audacity: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

MP3 Plugin for Audacity: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Lame_Installation

This will be a trial run for me to get the process down of editing and stuff, from what I'm told it shouldn't be so bad if we're all on the same page, editing should be simply a matter of you guys sending me the MP3's of your own voices and sticking em all together.

I'll PM the participants my Skype address tonight :)

Unfortunately this weekend is out for me, but I'll make sure to pick up the Audacity etc. so I can participate another week.

Kotick said that Guitar Hero "remains the leader in the category with more than 44 million games sold to date," and that both releases this year would be followed with "a full lineup of exciting downloadable content."

Notice he said nothing about DLC sales. Rock Band has to be MURDERING GH in that category.

I saw an ad on VH1 promoting the No Doubt album and they said it was EXCLUSIVE to the Rock Band store. Score another point for MTV games. Activision is losing bands faster than Infinity Ward employees.

I'm sure this has nothing to do with No Doubt's lawsuit. Activision really burns bridges, don't they?

How would this work, though? They won't have two separate charts per song for every instrument. Would you need the new guitars/drums for the "updated" charts? Would RB3 DLC (or the RB DLC going forward) not be backward compatible to RB2, RB1 because of this? The logistical nightmare this would create, not to mention the fragmentation of the consumer base, would not be feasible going forward. I don't know what to expect from RB3, but I don't think it will stray too far from the current model.

Black Sabbath is exclusive to the Guitar Hero Music Store.

Guitar Hero is already on life support thanks to Lady Gaga and Rust in Peace. Flash Delirium would be the coup de grâce.

FUCKING NEWSFLASH

"This fall, we expect to launch Guitar Hero 6, and soon after, the next DJ Hero," said Tippl. "This year, we've added more great, original music, new and innovative gameplay modes, and a significantly enhanced social gameplay experience. We expect to follow each release with a full lineup of exciting downloadable content."

FUCK YEAH GUITAR HERO SEQUEL.
