That needed to be in RB3, regardless. We had Run to the Hills, we had Everlong. We need another monster disco beat song.

I dunno. The more I think about it the more I'm confused/worried about the logistics. And frankly I'm not going to assume anything that's hinted at until it's spelled out. There's other things it could mean; most people write music on piano/keyboard, after all.

Obviously it wouldn't be the full band finale but come on dude, no way would Hocus Pocus be harder to sing than that.

Have you honestly tried to yodel? It's really fucking hard. I've been trying to learn so I can sing Zimbabwean music and it's soooo hard.

Anybody know of a GB:RB PS3 demo today? Or no chance because lol @ PS3.

Yes in the US.

Cambridge, MA – May 25, 2010 - Harmonix Music Systems and MTV Games, a part of Viacom’s MTV Networks (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), announced today that a demo of Green Day: Rock Band – featuring full versions of “Welcome to Paradise” and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” – will be released on Tuesday, May 25th, via Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft in North America and Europe. Singing along with Jewel b-sides 13+ years ago. :lol

And seriously Dave, call Bobby right now and get that GH dlc up. I want to play the shit over lunch because I'm going to be swamped tonight (mowing, smg2, rdr, pantera, movies).

I'm saying there isn't some system that checks if you're yodeling properly or not, if there was, yeah Hocus Pocus might be harder, but there's not. If I were playing the song I'd try my best but it's only ranking me on my pitch. What you're saying is akin to claiming Footloose and Fancy Free is the hardest song on vocals because you need to learn to play sax to pass it.

Just tried out GD: Rock Band (my first time playing RB with a Turtle Beach headset, which was great) and I'll definitely be buying.

Love Green Day. This'll be so much fun on vocals.

I like the idea of the keyboard. Hopefully this means we'll finally get a ton of ska music since so many ska bands use keyboards and piano. Or maybe I'll have to wait until RB4 when they add in brass instruments.

I took classical piano lessons for 13 years and have always wanted to learn more Rock/Pop songs on the instrument. I was already stoked as F! for this game. Now I can't flipping wait. Bring on all the songs with piano that could never be charted in Rock Band up until this point. BRING IT ON~!

I trust Harmonix will chart the Expert Piano/Keyboard instrument NOTE FOR NOTE!

seriously... it would be pointless to do otherwise on Expert mode.

They'll dumb it down for sure on the easier difficulties but there is no reason for them to not allow support for the full keyboard (except maybe peripheral costs).

Midi keyboards will be supported. Trust. Me.

So I played through the GD:RB demo again after my wife left for work and I could crank it up and the calibration still feels off. I played RB2/Beatles with 0 Video / 30 Audio for my receiver, and it's just about perfect. Did the same thing on GD (and even tried 0/0 because I ran with that for almost a year), and still ended up missing silly stuff.

I even tried two different guitars, thinking maybe one of them was fritzing out, and had the same problem. Popped in RB2 and everything's fine. I'm only missing things I actually missed. Hopefully I can find some good numbers for GD:RB or else I'm gonna get pissed.

I tried plugging in the values from RB2 and it was off. I'll run through the manual calibartion method later tonight ~ 10 times and average out the values and try that.

They'll figure it out. Somehow.
I'm fine with the addition of the keyboard as long as it doesn't make the screen completely cluttered and if you can buy it separately. I don't have any desire to buy more mediocre instruments, especially when I'm probably going to get good woods soon. At least it will help open up the kind of songs they can implement.

I don't ask a lot of of their animation team since they're actually great, but they absolutely, positively need to have the guitarist walk up on top of the piano prior to the ending solo for maximum impact. It would be the defining gaming moment of all time.

Oh God I don't have any more room for another large plastic instrument. ION already takes up half the space.

I like how hardly anyone is actually talking about the demo itself. Maybe Harmonix wanted to draw the attention away from the actual game :p

This means no more awesome keyboard solos charted to guitar. Go die in a fire Harmonix.
They never really did that to begin with.

I wonder how they'll handle BoRhap's guitar chart. Somebody to Love has piano charted to guitar but Killer Queen doesn't, and as a result the latter is pretty empty.

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
The Doors - ???

The 360 only supports up to four controllers. RB3 PS3 exclusive confirmed?
Considering the majority of RB sales are on the 360, that makes perfect sense.

With how cozy MS and Harmonix are, I'd expect them to make a special allowance. There's no way they didn't think of this already.

Wait, what? Why buy this if you can hook up your drum directly to the GHWT drum?

Depending on what edrum set you have you may not even need that. The GHWT brain has a MIDI out, with most quality sets all you would need is a MIDI cable.

Look at it this way csb, The Doors are practically guaranteed to be in RB3. Light My Fire keyboard finale?!
and it wouldn't be worth playing if the keyboard wasn't charted to guitar.

kind of like Smokin'
