I wish I was a student at Full Sail :( Their Game Development BS and Game Design MS look kick ass.
Actually, the MS is "Game Production" and is more about managerial stuff than design. We do have a Game Design BS, but it's an online degree.

Too bad I'm broke :lol I'd probably be able to get into the MS no problem, but have no way of getting any money to move there or to pay for the stuff :|

Maybe in a year or two after I can land a job with my generic BS in CS degree :(

Hey, how good (or bad) is the Phoenix Wright iPhone port?

Seems like it's the same game with uglier navigation icons. Looking at the GBA sprites is a bit odd after AA4 and AAI really upped the game with the detail on the characters.

GBA Sprites > Newer ones.

Edgeworth looked great, but I still didn't like Gumshoe's new look that much in Investigations nor did I like
Oldbag's disgusting new look.
Not to mention the

Franziska von Karma
did look better though. <3 No complaints on Apollo since they were new characters and were greatly animated.

Get it, Duck. You need to play it.

How much is it? $5? If it's $5, it's a fucking steal.

Threw some cash into the pot for Xev. Really hope it winds up going to his legal fund; I'm not the most sue-happy person but when your fuck-up threatens someone else's life you better pay up.

On topic:

Those picking up the July issue of Official Xbox Magazine will find a three-page spread detailing some of the content and additions gamers can expect out of Neversoft's Guitar Hero 6 (now known as "Warriors of Rock;" read below) effort, which is scheduled to clash with Rock Band 3 later this year.

The article has Brian Bright, project lead of the title, admitting the series has been offtrack since World Tour, stating "We really wanted to capture the soul again ... In my opinion, the first three games had [it]." As for revealed features, the article reveals the following:

*None of the features introduced in GH5 - jump-in party play, mixing and matching instruments, playlists, etc. - have been removed from GH6.

*The main career mode will be shaped into more of a story mode, which focuses on the game's signature characters. The characters set out to defeat "The Beast," an entity that has defeated the God of Rock in battle. With the God and his guitar now powerless, the characters set out to defeat The Beast. The story progresses with the standard cutscenes, all narrated by KISS's Gene Simmons. In the story mode, each character has an ability that carries over into gameplay - for example, Lars Umlaut can achieve a 5X multiplier without star power and Johnny Naplam cannot fall below 2X multiplier. When players reach an encore, the characters transform into an altered warrior form that extends these abilities even further (the example OXM cites is Lars morphs into an animorphic boar and can now reach 6X multiplier without star power).

*When the player completes quest mode, a "quick play plus" opens up, allowing players to use these forms and abilities outside of the story. This mode also extends the song-specific challenges established in GH5. In GH6, each song has 12 individual goals to accomplish, extending the total possible number of stars in a single song to 40 and, evidentially, imported songs and DLC purchases will be formatted to implement unique in-song challenges.

*Players can access a leaderboard with an option to jump into a game with the same perameters in an attempt to best their score. When attempting to beat a friend's score, the HUD has an additional indicator that shows the player's progress toward beating the score. Performance is also tied into a ranking system that tracks status, with OXM making a parallel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's system. A "share" option is also being implemented to forward high scores to friends.

*GH6 will keep tabs on how often you play certain songs and will suggest DLC content that is similar to the genres or bands played most.

*A song progression bar, detailing how much time is left in a song, has been added to the HUD.

*More song-sorting options, such as instrument-specific difficulty and earned stars are being added.

...

OXM also teases another song in a small footnote - Megadeth's Dave Mustaine will be creating an original track. The song is titled "Sudden Death" and it will serve as the final song in quest mode.

Neversoft read my request list ^_^

That "if you like X, then you'll love Y" tracking would only work if, you know, there was more DLC.

That does seem like something that would greatly benefit non-hardcore Rock Band DLC downloaders, though.

There's 350ish songs I think? I mean, it's not Rock Band but there's enough stuff that most genres are covered. It may be more like 250 I think, I unno.

Besides, with WoR we begin the great transition to 10 tracks a week :(

But they did some work on the DS games IIRC so they aren't the exact same ones from the GBA games. They also enhanced the music for the DS games.

Duck if you can play them on the DS then do so, I'm sure the 1st game is dirt cheap now, also the DS game has the extra 5th case which is one of the best cases ever. I don't know If they included it on the Iphone one since it wasn't in the Wiiware game, you had to buy it as an add on.

I'm sure you're busting your nut over each song having a total of 40 stars to earn, but that means you gotta play other instruments now!

I'm kinda hoping it's 40 per instrument, and the stars are for things like notestreaks.

Totally!

Hearing this bad news today has sucked quite a bit, but it makes me happy to know our little community truly cares about its members, and we've even had donations from lurkers, which is just awesome as well. I guess humanity isn't totally destroyed just yet.

Current donations: $186.53

Holy hell! I'm very surprised we collected that much money so far. Kudos to all the lurkers who pitched in as well!

Why not? If they're expanding it to DLC, it's more than likely generic challenges, which means why not make them for all instruments?

Well, for starters, how many variations on one song could you do for a single instrument? Since there will be songs that won't have guitar solos, you very well can't have a generic challenge for all songs on guitar to have a solo challenge. Vocals is another issue altogether: they barely came up with a decent number of vocal challenges in GH5 and you expect them to come up with twelve per song? It's just not going to happen.

Each song is going to have twelve challenges, some favoring one more instrument than the other, but they will cover all four instruments in each.

Don't ruin my dreams, bro. Why do you hate me so much?

For the whole program? That ain't too bad. Plus there's always financial aid.
Yeah.. It's an accelerated pace. For instance, the Game Dev. program is a BS, and it's only 23 months. So when you calculate that you only need two years living expenses and such, it's not that much different than another university.

60k is still quite a bit of money :(

If I had even a quarter of that though I'd totally consider it. Looks like their job placement rate is damn good too.

Re: the love-fest

Lets put it this way...if anyone of you were to show up in San Diego, you'd have a place to stay.

Noted and saved. I've actually referred folks to stop by your shop when they are out there. :)

Only problem is stafford loans max out at 20k and its a two year program, so you'd have to find a bank to give you a 20k loan plus living expenses.
