so... saying "different strokes for different folks" is in bad taste?

I was being sincere. He plays PS3 because his friends are on PSN and I play XBOX because my friends are on XBOX Live.

too soon? I wasn't even trying to say either console is better... I don't get it birdman.
...Seriously?

OK, after watching Metric on Later with Jools Holland last night, I've come to 3 conclusions:

1. Emily Haines is pretty hot.

2. Metric NEEDS to be in Rock Band 3, that shit is perfect.

3. Crystal Castles are shit

I can understand that. The JRPGs have been pretty subpar this gen, as a whole. I guess this generation is Shooter Country.
Thing I hate most about this gen is the shooter focus and lack of GREAT JRPGs. FFXIII is good, but I NEED MORE :(

Third Person Shooters > First Person Shooters any day of the fucking week for me.

I have enjoyed this gen. A lot of great new experiences and games I would have never imagined I'd play. Consoles don't have shit on the DS, though...can't even express how many hours of gaming that handheld has given me.

playing split/second :P
My friend keeps telling me to get it since he's always playing it, but I am not really sure if I'm going to like it. Blur looks more interesting to me.

Metric doesn't need to be in Rock Band 3, but I wouldn't mind some DLC.

I'm actually gonna go to bed. Was planning on watching an episode of Modern Family, but fuck Hulu.
I'll remember this.

Yeah I prefer TPS over FPS. I love this gen and wish it was last gen when I had a lot of time for games.

Try the demo. I kept playing it over and over and over, after I was done playing it I went ahead and pre-ordered it. still didn't pick it up though, time is a bitch.

I have both Blur & Split/Second and IMO SS is way better.

Hey, I'm addicted to The Court of the Crimson King, tell me which King Crimson album to get next, kthx

I can't believe no one else has responded to this yet (or am I?), but I'd tell you to go to the Bruford/Wetton trilogy next and to start with Larks' Tongue in Aspic and then to follow that up with both Starless & Bible Black and Red. If live stuff is more your thing, seek out The Great Deceiver, which is live material from that era and contains a couple of performances that they ended up using for tracks on their albums. It also helps that they're rather fantastic live.

Xevren watch: Any updates on our comrade?

On topic: I have to tidy up my games room today at the request of my better half. There are comics, games, toys, plastic instruments and shit everywhere. I have no idea where to even start.

I think I'll move my consoles around first. That should take most of the day. Then sort out seperating out my pile of shame so I play those now I won't be buying any new games at full RRP.

Anyone want to come over and do this for me? I'm lazy and would rather play RDR. Last night before bed I hogtied a whore and put her on railway tracks and sat there on my horse for 20 minutes waiting for a train to run her over. It was worth the wait.

all day babah!

I'd heartily recommend the 80s trilogy, too; I know Discipline is the easy one to go with, but Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair are pretty great, too.

seeing as you have to be of a certain age to even know about that show, it shouldn't really be a surprise that he's not heard of it.

ahvostik seems to be older than me and I was the one who made the reference. I just used to watch a lot of I Love the ___'s when they were popular.

Yes yes yes! I love me some metric. There aren't enough female friendly bands in RB sadly.

I'm aware. I'm just saying that not everyone's heard of the show.

Even if I had heard of the show saying "different strokes" is and should be known to be short for "different strokes for different folks"

anyway - you'll be seeing a lot more of me in this thread. I moved to New York City away from all of my IRL friends so I need a forum/thread like this to give me some more human interaction. New York City = you're surrounded by tons of people... yet you've never felt so alone. (/I love it here).

Also - I just realized, birdman, you were saying it's too soon to talk about Gary Coleman's old tv show because he just passed away yesterday. now I get it. Sorry for being an idiot. /sincere.

I have no idea how to make an animated gif anymore. The last time I did it was in '98 on Adobe Premiere 5 or some shit.

I thought this Gimp Animation Package would do the trick but I can't find a windows installer.

Just assume that everyone is kidding and not offended and you just didn't get the joke if you think they are from now on and you'll do just fine.

Sorry.. It's easy to get the Baldwins mixed up.

I know, they're not related.

To be fair, they are the only ones you need to remember.

Don't worry, I'm not gonna get pissed at you for not getting a joke. I won't even deduct your Bro points this time!

woooo!

I still have bro points! :D

I can't wait to not be a junior anymore. It's going to be so sweet.
