*plays Satch Boogie in RB2*

Wow, this is incredible. I really feel like I'm one with the music, I feel like I am Joe Satriani. I know what he's all about.

*plays Satch Boogie in GH:WT*

Wow, this is such a fun gameplay experience, but I kinda wish I could be playing this song in a more authentic environment. I don't feel as connected with the music, I am not Joe Satriani.

Sadly not alot of people in this thread will get this comparison but you pretty much hit it spot on. Especially considering The Show is STILL very pick up and play while maintaining hardcore sim status.
For the record, both The Bigs and The Show are great games.

As for RBN being a good thing for indie bands, it absolutely is, and has already proven to be. Sure, you can't expect a local club band to compete with the sales numbers of an established name, but a good song, or a fun one to play sees much greater and much more widespread insertion than simply selling CDs at local gigs. Moreover, it becomes a way for the bands fans to interact with their music.

I fail to see how RBN will be successful for non-established bands. Not only do they have an overwhelming amount of huge bands to compete with they have a fair amount of smaller labels to compete with. Originally I thought that RBN was to be used for the players bands to put their music there, which they can do, but when you have Billy Idol on there charging 3 bucks for a song it kind of ruins the philosphy. What I took from the core conecept was very indie to smaller acts getting their music out there for a buck a pop, so it IS accessable for you and me to get. I think they need to change their standards for what goes on RBN though, and maybe one day it can be what I assumed it was intended for.
Because it allows them to get their music in the game. If RBN was not around there would be many bands left out in the cold. HMX can't do everything, it's just not possible. It's not as if you take those bigger names off of RBN and feature them as regular RBDLC suddenly those smaller bands that very few people know about will sell more. The same tracks are available regardless. RBN is a platform for anyone to get their music in the game, regardless of their popularity. I'd say the number of smaller bands greatly outweighs the bigger names anyways.

:lol I don't think that's what anyone is trying to say.

Code is on the back of the manual it works the same way as LRB though, you need the disc and then it will produce another code to download, at least on PS3.

Hey Birdman did you buy "it"?

Yeah, already about halfway through the career. I haven't touched the 21st Century Breakdown songs yet for obvious reasons. I did voxtar through all of the American Idiot and stuff after Dookie and did pretty good.

That's not what I was getting at, since Gamestop offered a free token if you pre-ordered the game.

I pre-ordered from gamestop and the free token was printed on the receipt. Not sure where it will be if it was mailed to you. Did you look on the receipt/packlist?

There is absolutely nothing on there that could be used as a code. I'm reading that the code is supposed to be emailed to customers who ordered online, but I have received no such message.

Guess it's time for "Yell Until Something Good Happens"!

It might take a few days. I know Amazon usually waits 2-3 days before sending you a code for their exclusive DLC for a game. Maybe Gamestop is the same.

Apparently, PS3 owners got their codes yesterday. If I find out Sony had anything to do with this...

The Bigs is the superior pick up and play game btw. Not that the Show is bad, its awesome. But the Bigs looks great and plays even better and is more fun. :/ Best thing those Canadians have made.
Beer? Maple Syrup? Beavers? Bioware? Mounties?

Pre ordered it from gamestop but in stores, receive a carton with the code on it , yay 47 new songs in RB2, did not even opened the GD RB game, hope to resell it for more than I paid for (trade 3 get 1 free , I traded 3 games that I bought for 9.99 each :) )

If anyone wants to play RB2 on PS3, leave me a message , I'll be playing GD songs while waiting

Couple of things to note from that, specifically the release window and use of "keyboard bundle" (if it's a keytar, why not just mention that?)

Keytars are incredibly uncool. It'll never be branded as a keytar, even if it looks like one.

One can hope that they've learned their lesson that a lightsaber should not have the same properties as a 2x4 with neon lighting. For a game based on using that kind of weapon, they sure fucked that up.

Honestly I'd rather get a new Battlefront. Battlefront 2 on XBL for OG Xbox is some of the most fun I've had in online console gaming. Jedi Academy was also ridiculously fun online.

Dudes, Mortal Kombat.
Yea, if the new game is 2D I'm day fucking one. If it's 3D... I'm not even renting it.

oh also, new Itagaki game, DAY ONE. *crosses fingers for an action game*

First off:
The keyboard thing could just be a placeholder. GS is notorious for changing reserve info as it comes in.

Secondly:
I got an extra export code from GDRB and a mic stand. Tomorrow is very much voxtar time.

Final:
Battlefront 2 was fuckin' awesome. I'd love a BF3. SOMEONE DO IT!

Aren't their placeholders usually on the 1st though?

Also, RB2 came out on a Sunday as well.

You have no idea how much it killed me when LucasArts killed Free Radical's incredible looking Battlefront 3. That company has no fucking clue what quality is.

TFU is kinda the sequel to SotE, if only because it was a massively hyped canonical non-film installment for the series. SotE merely wasn't completely retarded about it.

The Wampas in SotE scared me.

And Jedi Academy was great.
Force choke + throwing people off the edge of maps = SO AWESOME.

Original KotOR has to be my favorite SW game though, damn near perfection.

Damn Force Unleashed and Portal 2 on the same day? Fuck my wallet.

ALso I don't care how bad the game is I'm a sucker for Star Wars games as well.

I thought so too. However, if it is not a placeholder, that would mean no full band or guitar bundle which is unrealistic.

On a side note, who else is getting the new Transformers game? I'm excited for it even if it turns out to be a piece of shit.

This doesn't hurt either...

I liked the first SWFU, sure it wasn't great but it was fun enough.

Jedi Academy is probably my favorite SW game though, that or Dark Forces 2, I loved playing that game online and tearing it up with a concussion rifle, haha what a noob tube, I was like 12 to be fair. I pretty much hated the combat in KOTOR so fuck that game.

It was 97% broken on Hard so I fucking hated it. I also think every single boss fight glitched out to the point of having to reset the game.

wat

KotOR is like Mass Effect but not awful.

I'd buy that other guitar game day 1 if I could just plug in any old electric guitar (via some dongle). But since I can't I'll be waiting for it to drop down to like $60 before buying it exclusively for the Clapton :(
