It there are achievements for "realtar", and no lefty version available, I will RAGE! The existing plastars, while not optimal, are perfectly playable by lefties. A realtar wouldn't due to the strings. FFUUUU!

:lol Youse a whore.

I will be extremely upset if there's no lefty realtar anyways. A game is probably the only way I could actually learn to play an instrument, and I doubt I'd be able to switch to righty after 4-5 years of playing GH/RB.

There's 15 tutors within 20 miles of me, apparently. I guess I expected you not to live in a third world country.

The realtar stuff is going to be so insignificant in the grand scheme of things. When it comes to Pro Mode it's the keyboard and drums that are going to have any significant take up.

You're giving south Georgia way too much credit, Albany and Valdosta being the exceptions and not the rule. :lol

What's the problem with just flipping the guitar around so you pick with your left hand? Is it just the whammy/button location?

With the plastar, it's whammy placement. It's not a huge deal, but I can only whammy really long sustains. With a realtar, I'm going to assume that since it's an actual guitar, the string placement would be opposite on a lefty guitar.

You won't need to play "full" chords, anyway. Most stuff in rock music are your basic power chords with a solo and/or guitar riff.

The problem I see with the pro mode are the solos. You can't do that RB style (randomly pressing buttons and struminng) if you're bad. You will fail in no time on that real thing. A Weezer/Foo song, no problem. But try playing some sick Metallica solo, you have like no chance at all and that'll be the case for 99% of the players that buy that thing.

But I hope there's a practice mode where it says you how to place your fingers and when to change a chord, etc. That would be really awesome and I'd maybe even buy that thing just to learn some more complex songs. But I somehow doubt that as it would be very time-consuming for HMX to program that for every song or even only the songs on disc.

I see the same problem. All I'm hoping for in pro mode is playing chords like you would normally and maybe simplified solos. I guess we'll know more next week hopefully.

Well the strings will be fake on this realtar, so they could just have the high E become the low E or something?
I want a realtar that I can use outside of the game..

Guess I'm buying PowerGig. FFFFUUUUU!

Y'know, if we can use real MIDI keyboards for RB3, I'm seriously considering getting a real one instead of the game one. That way I can at least apply it to my real band too.

...shit. Drumming and synthing? I'm becoming John Drake.

How would you connect it to the 360 and have it recognised as a controller?

I guess the best you can hope for is maybe some sort of MIDI to 360 controller converter box thing...

That's not completely impossible. Not too likely, yea, but not impossible.

Or maybe the official game keyboard has MIDI output as well. Who knows.

I need to hop on this parental-consent Waifu trend tonight.

I am also so excited about RB3. Except my wallet, he is fucking pissed. I'll probably end up buying EVERYTHING.

Keyboards are going to annihilate people that don't play the real thing, even more so than drums did in RB1.

I can't think of anyone on this board that would be unhappy right now. DIO.

You'd be surprised. :lol Though all the new info has definitely made my fucking day.

So it's very doubtful, but we're going to try to book the new concert hall for RB3. It probably holds close upwards of 1500. If that falls through, then we'll grab the auditorium that holds 300 or so. We've gotten that once before, so that shouldn't be a problem. It was fucking awesome running up and down the stairs to the stadium seating while playing!

Depending on the release date ... I'll be there!

And Archie ... where in southern GA are you? I'm just south of you in Jax.

If the realtar (the proper, hardcore one) is less than $250 I'll be amazed. The Halftar will probably be...I dunno, maybe $140-$160 or so? Just pulling numbers out of my ass but given how much the keyboard seems to cost compared to a traditional plastic guitar I can't see those prices being too off.

Probably about right.

I'll be in southern Florida from Nov 10-16 or something. If it's on one of my off days, maybe I could swing by too!

I've watched and read enough to admit I owe you money. What's your paypal?

Don't do it, Baker! $10 USD!
I sucked it up and gave him pounds since I was extra wrong.

Is your name not Dave, Dave? I hate when shit doesn't match up on paypal because I think I'm sending money to a random person.

I signed up for Paypal when I was like, 13, and had to use my mother's credit card. So it's in her name, and I have no way of changing it without closing the whole account. And I'm lazy :(

Also, your money is appreciated, now lets never doubt me again :D

Called it.

Actually a year or so ago when we were all talking about what we wanted in RB3, I said they should use tab on the hi way and use pressure sensitive buttons on all the frets to simulate playing a real guitar. Everyone thought I was crazy then!!! Now who's crazy!

You are still crazy.

The new features sound great, but if by getting the Maiden pack last year, we're not going to be able to use all the new features with it, I'm going to cry. I would have glady waited a year.

Also, not being able to playing The Final Countdown with a useless keyboard controller next to you would be sad.

You'll be able to play Sad But True on realtar when the Metallica 20 pack comes out, so I guess you're practically playing his best song.

"Expect more details at E3 w/ regards to the possibility of "enhanced legacy DLC.""

From @RockBandAide on Twitter. Dude was at the E3 event if I remember correctly.

bye bye iphone 4, all my money will go to RB3 this year

can you remind me of your bet?
I said there would not be a six string guitar that knew what specific note you were playing or a 160 button controller.

HMX ended up making one of each, labeling me doubly wrong.
