Chinese Democracy is the worst musically, with both Pearl Jam albums close behind. Worst to play is probably Chinese Democracy unless you figure out how to completely mute the vocals.

Just buy a cheap Jackson, a lot of their guitars have them and I love the two I have owned.

What sucks is that you are going to have to keep the real-tar in tune or play the game at a decent level of volume to overpower the sound from the strings. It will especially be shitty on songs that use capo's or some bullshit c tuning. Drop D won't be an issue though, but there are quite a few bands that play a whole step down, so that could potentially annoy me. I'm going to buy the strat though for sure, unless its more than 300 bucks, which is doubtful.

Crossing my fingers for a jam mode where I can lay some flange or chorus on my own riffs though, that would be badass, to essentially use my 5.1 as combo.

Both are equally terrible, but for different reasons. BS is a good album that is absolutely butchered by a terrible live version, and BSSM just plain sucks.

Strats do not go out of tune from simply touching the whammy. Obviously if you're a jackass and bottom out the tremolo ... you get what your deserve.



BTW - Floyd Rose on a Strat is a desecration :p

They totally go out of tune easily, too easily, if you're anal about your tuning you notice. Not from just touching it no, but if you played a RB/GH song like most people play them now, it would most certainly sound very shitty by the songs end. Floyd Roses aren't that great TBH my Washburn is the only guitar that I like it on. They are a big hassle it's a pain to set the strings height and a pain to tune on IMO. Whammy is a bit of an over rated technique though, it's really not used that often and when it is, it's metal and those goddamned dime artificial harmonics that Zakk Wylde has played to death.

EDIT: Dive bombs are the only reason to have a whammy bar. You can acheive a similiar sould with some very liberal vibrato as easily, not exactly the same but very close.

argee with CSB at shitty RB albums, Cars is no fun on anything but vox, and Backspacer is OK on drums, the BSSM has some great drum tracks and so does british steel.

I got so frustrated with one of mine I went and got it professionally done, they are fun to mess around with but not as practical as you would think. But when I bought my first guitar with a FR bridge I was 16 and loved Pantera :lol So I thought it was the coolest thing ever naturally. It took me about 4 months to get Dime's squeals though, such a strange technique.
 
It's not like the PFO mode in RB is worth playing. Broken scroll speeds are broken.

and I apologize for wanting to play with IRL friends over an e-friend who doesn't even buy the same DLC as me.

Pixes are up there, though Dookie makes it take a good run for it's money. I think I may have bought only one song off Dookie if it came as normal DLC.

:p Well, probably. The intent of pro-mode is to learn to play guitar ... or if you already can, to learn some songs and have fun. If part of the former is learning how a non-floating tremolo reacts to stupidity ... the so be it :D

I disagree. There are plenty of situations where moderate whammy is useful. Particularity for chords, of for low frets.





As far as modding Fenders though, I'd first start out by testing a locking tuner (Schaller for example). For a full locking trem though, I'm pretty sure there is a Floyd Rose alternative that most people go with for Fenders. It's a similar overall idea, but works a bit differently.
 
Alright I'll give you that, it's useful for chords, but you can still apply a small amount of vibrato to chords, but yeah they are useful for chords and bending on those first 3 or 4 frets, especially the first :lol

Man I was really wishing that this guitar would have come in multiple bodies, I'd love a Tele instead. I love the 68 Mustang with the goofy 3 way switch. I had a friend who inherited about 25 guitars from his uncle, he has an original 69 gold top Les Paul, I'm sure his collection is worth well over $100,000

Yeah, right after the nut.

That's one lucky son-of-a-bitch. Only guitar I've "inherited" is an old Harmony hollow-body electric with bad frets past 12, uncared for electronics, and fucked up intonation. I wish I could have it restored, but I have been told not all of it is fixable. :/

Yeah the only one I have is an old Ibanez knock off the Gibson Hummingbird, it sounds great and looks cool, but it's not worth a lot of money. I have another friend whos grandpa is a at home musician, like for fun, he has his own studio and a shit load of guitars, hes pretty loaded. He also owns a gun shop, so he's gonna be set up when his grandpa dies :lol
 
Now that I think I got a Harmony Rocket from my grandpa that also didn't work well pas the 12th fret and was uncared for and hollow body, what a coincidence.

Here is hoping there will be a ton of great DLC that comes out after E3 (fully compatible with RB3 of course). Either big bands need to get in contact with RBN folk or Hmx needs to release like 12 songs a week :(
 
Worst album is easily Backspacer.

bSSM has a lot of shit, but there are a few good tracks to be found there.
British Steel is an atrocity when it comes to vocals, and is the biggest crime to date, but it's still shitty versions of truly awesome songs.

Oh, and some of the other mentions so far are laughable.
 
I have a feeling that dlc schedule will slow down considerably with the addition of pro. Ode tracks. The authoring of them must be a massive mount of work, unless they have the ability to auto-author from a playthrough

How accurate is shit like the hand animations in game? If they are spot on then I'd imagine it aint much more of a stretch, yo.
 
I was thinking the same thing and holding off DLC until after RB3 releases just in case there's a conversion charge for old DLC. I was thinking of "No More Tears" specifically because of keys integration.

Odds are everything released after E3 by Hmx will be RB3 compatible. Well, if it isn't it should be :|

The problem is, I'm assuming the reason RB3 DLC won't work with RB2 is because there's some massive difference in the files (and not because, say, they're evil). So how do you set it up so that RB2 stuff works in full RB3 mode but RB3 stuff doesn't work in RB2?
