Excellent! I have this game on Steam, and remember really enjoying the first half of the game, but I never finished it. Really looking forward to diving back in on the Switch!

Def picking this up on Switch, I heard it was good, almost bought it for my Mac, but there wasn't a Mac version. So very happy to try it out!

The portable mode for switch sounds interesting. Being able to touch to investigate things could make the gameplay way better.

And if there is gyro aiming too...

I'm not sure I want to replay this. The gameplay was kind of boring?

I'd prefer a remaster of the GTA III trilogy.

Lots of people, including myself, thought it was boring. I couldn't finish the game.

RDR was a development mess and it's kinda a miracle the game came out the way it did

like that's the main reason the game never saw a PC release and more than likely that we will never see a port of it on any other system

That sucks

Intrigued, very much so. I played the game way back on PS3 but never moved on from the first desk; really liked it, but sort of moved away from what it was offering and never came back. Having the game on the move, a'la Phoenix Wright? That could easily hold my attention.

Hope it's a decent port.

Dont go in expecting that.
I would talk about the massive L the game hands you but thatd go into spoiler territory.

This is a game that's all about visual presentation. More detail in the faces and movement can add more to the experience then unique gesture controls. L.A. Noire doesn't really offer much in terms of gameplay. It's strictly a narrative game.
The game is so old, I seriously doubt visual cue clarity will differ that much if at all between the systems.

Already finished years ago on PS3, sure a pretty fun game, but a bit boring in the long term for me. Anyway I would be tempeted to play it again on Switch, let's see...

Yeah I'm in. Never played the DLC so that'll be new to me.

Switch seems like the perfect platform for this game, it was always more Ace Attorney than GTA.

Lol I'm probably in again at the right price for Phelps' complete inability to read the mood of a room and his incredible behaviour as a result.

Wow, I can't believe I'm going to be playing one of my favourite Rockstar games on Switch in just a couple months. I lost my save ages ago and never finished it, but I had a lot of fun with what I did play.

I find it really hard to believe that Nintendo would pay for some of the development costs for porting this. It doesn't sound like them at all.

Doesn't sound like Rockstar to port this to Switch at all either.

What do you mean it's a mess? I need context.

This has been long rumored but never really full confirmed, but the narrative goes that Red Dead Redemption's code base was "held together by duct tape" right up to release, explaining why it originally performed (and looked) so bad on PS3, that a PC port of it was going to be impossible, and why it's never been re-released.

It was a development rumor for years (no idea who the original source was), but the rumor got some credibility when the contract issues between Rockstar and former GTA producer Leslie Benzies came out in court 12-18 months ago, and there were email/text logs of the Housers literally begging Benzies to join the RDR project to save the game because it was such a buggy mess. Dan Houser in the court evidence is seen begging Benzies that "we need that Benz magic" or something along those lines. Rockstar is notoriously tight lipped about all of their projects, but this narrative has persisted since the game initially came out, and that we're going on something like 8 years without any other ports or enhanced versions since the original release seems to back up the argument.

...Why LA Noire? I mean it's good news and all, but I'm a bit confused.
They updating the visuals?

If their strategy is to sell remaster of most of their old games it makes sense to start with the one people are only moderately interested instead of GTA or Red Dead.

Not even 1080p on Switch...yikes.

Would that even be expected? I dialled back to see how the originals ran and they didn't really hold performance at 720p back then. With the Switch's Skyrim (albeit a derivative of the Special Edition) being 720p, it wouldn't have surprised me that this would have been the case here. And 720p is the native for the screen, so not a big deal I would say.

They just announced the X and Pro are getting upgrades. The game visually still holds up and I'd argue you already have a definitive version with the PC version. I don't see how the the new joy-con mechanics can make the gameplay enjoyable.

We have no clue as the resolution Skyrim is outputting in docked mode, only that it's native 720p in portable.
L.A. Noire will probably be 1080p docked as it's just a port of the PS360 game.

I wonder how they'd work HD Rumble into the game. I can totally see it working for switch(which would be an insane port now that I think about it) but not LA Noire. Anyone got any idea what the rumble would be used for.

It's a start for Rockstar with Switch support. Maybe they'll consider future titles on it.

I enjoyed LA Noire when it first came out, but not sure if I would buy it again. If this was a GTA IV or Max Payne port with updates I would be going bonkers. I'm still open to this though.

I would love to see a Red Dead Redemption remaster or even a Max Payne 3, but i guess this is the reason for the RDR 2 delay.

I don't see large sales of this at full price, and to think that Rockstar is now "friends" with Nintendo..

So with this news how high are the chances to see a GTV5 patch for Xbox One X and PS4 Pro now?

Higher than yesterday!

Picking up on Switch, hell yes I am.

I never knew I wanted portable LA Noire. Can't wait to watch Cole call abuse victims lying bitches again!
