i like to see an underdog play well, but if by some miracle cilic did win you might as well hand the title to nadal.

Women shouldn't make kids after they are 30. It's not healthy for the kid.

That's not true.

Also he decides that their ability to bear children is what defines them. Women "need to think about kids", as if that's their job and goal in life. And even if kids would be someone's ultimate goal, there are no issues with playing out a full professional career in tennis before giving birth.

I mean the statement is beyond absurd.

What he's saying does make sense but he phrases it weirdly :

"Women have it tougher as professional tennis players due to having to retire, or go on a hiatus, earlier than men because of giving birth."

I think that's what he meant more than anything ;)

Then it does make sense because at 30y.o. your career and life is hardly over, just beginning actually, so you have to pursue other career paths to keep on going.
Being a professional athlete is always a risk because the vast majority barely get by financially.

That doesn't make sense either. It's not true. He's an idiot, is the only explanation.

hopefully robredo wins this tiebreak. this should go to a fifth set, with four tiebreaks and 6-6 in the fifth.

Well, this clay season has been her most consistent yet. And she shouldn't be missing put-away volleys and routine rally shots on any surface. Ajla did play well, though.

She doesn't have the power to compete in clay. If she's gonna win a slam, it would be Wimbledon.

Though Gulbis is mostly a funny, outspoken guy he is also known to spew controversy from time to time. Its not the first time I have heard him hold such an old-fashioned view on a subject. So yeah, no surprise there. Guy got an attitude like no one else on the tour, but I wouldn't look to him for social commentary or some modern sensibility. He is almost like a caricature of a spoiled millionaire child, smashing rackets every match, arguing with the umpire over every line call or noise or whatever.

That said, of late he is behaving better, at least on the court, making sure he is taking care of business and not letting the pointless things get to him, which is good since he has such a good watchable game.

Nice recovery. Way to go Raonic.
Serve always a weapon, but the groundstrokes and court play are where he could improve. Looks like he's doing that.

Gotta work on that french, but not bad. At least he's trying.

I shot people I like more for less.
Oh holy shit, we already have Tsonga vs Djokovic in the next round? Hopefully it's good quality like the semis two years ago. That was heartbreaking when Jo wasted those match points :(

Gulbis should be a good test for Roger, provided he raises his level, and doesn't waste as many break points as today. It should be a good match.
