took some screens, going onto the ride is pretty cool and the graphics are pretty decent.

same game just in 3D.

This is pretty much one of the only things I'll miss about PCs. They've said there won't be a Mac version, period. :(

I loved RCT.

Damn History Quiz is keeping me from really getting into this...but I find the camera to be really wonky and weird to control. But, I only spent a few minutes.

It will luckilly run on this laptop, so all is well.

I just found out this morning that Mr. Sawyer isn't creating this one at all. Needless to say I'll be testing the demo thoroughly before dropping any cash on a non-Sawyer RCT. Looked nice @ E3, though.

In all honesty...I find the thing DAMN hard to control. A little on the diappointed side, but I haven't really gotten into it yet.

What kind of idiot would be disappointed by this...oh wait, shit, that was me.

Got into the Coaster Building, got into the ride placement...and it rocks. Seeing some of the stuff that is in the game (There's even ways to have SHARK and T-REX attacks on rides, as well as rock slides) makes me wish this both:

1. Ran better on this laptop I'm not able to upgrade.
2. Less Expensive.

As it is, to get my RCT fix, I'll pick up RCT2 and its expansions (Now nice and cheap-like). But I will be very bitter to not own this.

I think that micromanagement is really quite difficult with the way the camera works, and I think it would take some getting used to...but the rest of it is absolutely awesome stuff.

What are the requirements for this? I want to know if i can play this on my laptop

I'm running a 1.4 GHZ Pentium M processor, 32 MB Mobility Radeon, 512 MB RAM and it isn't running poorly or anything. Really kind of good, although it is on the low setting by default based on my machine.

But I don't believe there are any specs around.

He had absolutely nothing to do with this game.

This is basically the old games in 3D with some desperately needed additions (polygons, actually riding your creations, better AI, sandbox mode). Still though, judging from the demo they've done a fantastic job bringing it over to 3D and made a respectable sequel.

Anyone play Coaster Works for the Dreamcast? That was a pretty fun, if limited, game. I wonder if anyone would pick this one up if it were released for consoles.

Anyone notice any graphical anomalies? I'm getting a few for some reason.

I'm getting mostly just little glitches and there...and the camera is MORE than a little wonky.

But there's a lot of potential in those menus...such teases, they are. This is what the second one should have been. But, the originals won't run on anything past 98, and this just runs on low, so I think I'll just grab the second.

Yeah, quite a few. Whenever I build a tall rollercoaster huge walls of random colours appear across the entire map, and get in the way of the camera...pretty annoying. Also getting random patches of path disappearing when I'm placing buildings/rides, and I have to mess around with the path tool to get them to reappear. Glad I'm not the only one with these problems, thought my video card might be on its last legs. :P Hopefully this stuff gets ironed out in time for release.

The game looks great though, and runs smoothly. It's quite scalable too, which is nice.

I'm not having too many problems with the camera, although it can be a little frustrating when you're trying to micromanage a rollercoaster.

Oops looks like I jumped the gun. He has an advisory role with the product but isn't involved with the actual development of it.

Awesome, this should run alright on my Tecra laptop then - P4 1.5M, 64MB GeForce FX Go5200 and 768 meg of ram, yeah?

There's an official patch you know to play the original on win2k or winxp.

Very fun. Riding your ride is fun, and the game is pretty much the same as it was before (and that's a good thing). Lots of customizable option (you want cheese with that hotdog?) and don't worry about graphics too much cause that's very adjustable too.

I'm not sure this is a bad thing.

RCT is great. But RCT2 was a big time cash in game. I wouldn't want RCT3 handled the same way.

Downloading the demo now...

Is anyone else finding micromanagement really difficult? It's a huge ass park and I find I'm having trouble with my Janitors and with keeping the guests happy. They love my coasters (I've played a lot of the original, I've gotten really, really good at making 6-7 Intensity and Exctitement, 4 Nausea Coasters consistently) and they seem to enjoy the park, but there isn't quite a "All Guests Thoughts" button as far as I can find, and it's difficult to keep track of so many people. The camera does not help in this regard. The idea of groups is cool, though.

Where's everyone building their first coaster? I usually build my first on right by the entrance, bring it under the bridge.

My mechanics are dumbasses. One of my rides broke down and he never found it. I tried letting him be, but after two months I decided to grab him and put him by the enterance of the ride. He walked around, gets the phone call, and WALKS AWAY FROM THE RIDE!! The game ended before the ride ever got fixed.

Other than some "making a queue" problems, I'm really liking the game though. My favourite part was when I noticed that one of my mechanics thought "WHEEEE!!!" and I'm like... what, did he ride something? Yup! He was caught red handed and I fired his ass. You can displine your employees too, which rules.

And no one likes an entertainer. NO ONE!

Okay...the Ride Events are the one thing making me think that despite how crappy it will run, I want this game.

I got a coaster to go THROUGH the oil platform as it collapses, it looks absolutely awesome. Definitely a great feature.

Yeah I'm totally into it. Too bad the demo is over so quick. I'd love to fill in all that land.

Good tip - put a balloon stand right by the enterance. So many people will buy them.

anybody knows how i can change the direction of my rollercoaster?

i contruct those fuckers hours and hours and than the train drives the wrong way

:[

i ve done that. it went the other direction anyway!

"Z" changes the direction of the station platform, go that way and then built the lift hill.

I just wish the initial coaster wasn't so deep into the park; I really want to keep all of the rides isolated, and I don't like the people being spread out quite so much.

Yeah it is kinda nowhere. No one will ride it, I just ignore the fact that it's even there. I'd have put a train from the enterance to the ride, but that's not available in the demo.

3D view, click the ride, go to the picture of a rollercoaster car, click the button that looks like a videocamera.

I could have sworn the Transport Train is in there...

I usually just delete it, you get like $12,000 for it. I was able to build two Helix-laden Wooden Coasters, one intense one not as much so, at the front of the park, making for a much better area. Had a couple of gentle rides.

Also annoying; I can't pick up people and move them at my leisure. I loved that.

Yeah they're always like "PUT ME DOWN!" and get pissed off, even your employees.

I didn't really check the trains carefully. Maybe it is in there.

Has anyone really watched the customers? They...

-Take pictures of each other
- watch the rides, their heads will follow where the ride is at the time
- couples will make out
- kids will run ahead of their parents while the parents just can't go very fast at all

I just build Coasters. I became too accustomed to Arid Heights in RCT:LL, which had no money only a necessity to keep up a Park Rating.

I would build gigantic themed Coaster Parks, all around Dueling Coasters. I had one set...Medieval Magic and Medieval Tournament. They were at about 12 Excitement, each of them. The things were awesome. I would use scenery and theming to create these areas. Ice, Medieval, Alien, etc. I'd spend days just theming places. It was awesome.

I got addicted fast to that one. I haven't been playing with the people much, I usually like building, and then observing.

With the old RCT I would just play the Mega Park. Completely flatten out the land and build. I think I get it a 3rd full before I gave up.

People would get lost constantly cause it was so big, and I made just about every rollercoaster, gentle, thrill, water and train in that.

BTW, the train is there. I just missed it for some weird reason.
