Here are some tidbits:

The Switch version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII with Power-Up Kit, announced last week at the Nintendo Switch Presentation, will launch in Japan for 9,800 yen on March 30, Koei Tecmo announced.

The Switch version of the game will offer a new officer creation feature using the Joy-Con controllers' motion IR camera. When pointing the motion IR camera towards a target, various officers will be born based on things such as the target's form and feel. Additionally, the Switch version offers intuitive touch-based controls. You can utilize the large screen to zoom in, zoom out, and swipe, move your units during battle, and activate officer strategies.

Also Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence with Power-Up Kit is due out for Switch in Japan on March 3

With this and Dragon Quest Heroes 1+2 Japan's Switch launch lineup is starting to look a lot beefier than the western one.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
So much for people saying no Touchscreen controls because they cant be used with the system docked.

Looking forward to IR controls coming back more though.

The point was about the games that use only touch controls. This game can be played also without touch controls.

But what about us lefties.
What about us!

It obviously is possible to just turn the Joy-Con but would that be a system level setting option? 🤔

Again, it's quite perplexing that Nintendo hasn't made any effort to announce that these games are coming, especially as this is coming in the launch month.

Wtf is this name ? Are they including something in the pack ?

Traditionally the version of RTK with PUK is kind of like an expansion pack, to the next level. New events, character editing, new technologies, etc. It's a simple way to say "'the definitive version" of the game.

So if I point to a potato, I'll get an officer with the shape and texture of a potato?

I don't even understand the thought process behind this feature.
"I spend so much time making my officers look like socks in the character chreator, if only there was a more efficient way to do this!"

Maybe they thought about toy soldiers. Or action figures. Or amiibo. I will have a Waluigi general!

I honestly think Nintendo purposefully didn'y reveal more details on Switch games launch lineup. They'll save that for future Directs. Whether you think that's a good or bad strategy be Nintendo is debatable. Glad we're hearing more games at launch for the Switch.

But this is a launch month game. How much more time do they really have to show us the full launch/launch month lineup?

The problem is that they didn't figure out that the IR in console mode is replacing the touch capabilities in handheld mode.

Since Nobunga is also made by the same devs I wonder if they'll offer different features.

I could be wrong, but I feel like this is the kind of thinking Ninty and Co. is working to break away from. Less focus on years/months long hype cycles (though still some, surely-) more focus on weeks/days long hype cycles; similar to what we see in the mobile phone world.

We are 45 days before launch. We will soon talking about hours long hype cycles.

I played a lot of Nobunaga's Ambition and Romance of the Three Kingdoms on the Super NES, but I don't know if I care for Koei's style of grand strategy anymore. The reviews on Steam are mixed. The game was $90 when originally released, though.

$90 on Steam? Wow, why so much?

This may be a system seller for me. I was gutted that Vita never got Nobunaga's Ambition or a Romance of the Three Kingdoms XII in English.

New trailers for the Switch versions of Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence with Power-Up Kit and Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII with Power-Up Kit:

and new details.

The Switch version of Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence with Power-Up Kit includes the new “Flowers Blooming in Ii” scenario themed around Ii Naotora, a large number of downloadable content, and a new officer creation feature using the motion IR camera.

The Switch version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII with Power-Up Kit offers the same new officer creation feature using the motion IR camera, as well as touch screen support.

I bought ROTK 13 for the PS4 when it launched and really didn't like it. I know they had changed the combat system and I thought I could adapt to the change, but I couldn't. I really miss the old turn based style combat that the older ones had. Wall of Fire was probably my favorite in the series.

For all of you who didn't quite like the original XIII, there's an enhanced version coming, don't know how good it is. It's called Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII: Fame and Strategy Expansion Pack Bundle and there's an official website up. Didn't create a new thread because it's DLC for a niche game.

Still no handheld version even with Switch taking over from Vita. I weep.
