Because you can no longer point out the fact that on average men are physically stronger than women. Even if its true. The guy paid her a compliment saying she is dominating her division as if she was a man competing against women. And sorry but yes the best male mma fighters, boxers etc will beat the best female fighters. It's not sexist to stats it.

I think it'd be pretty weird for him to be paying her compliments and talking about admiring her and whatever and then intentionally throw a sexist remark in there

Saying this is an idiotic statement isn't distorting reality. I have no illusions about the discrepancy of male and female athletes, I paid attention in biology class.

That doesn't make this meathead's attempt at an idiom any less stupid.

I don't think most people are saying that. Even most of the people saying he was trying to pay her a compliment are saying he phrased it poorly and said something stupid. They're just also saying that he wasn't trying to make a sexist comment with what he said.

Also, this is just silly. Intent is extremely important to take into account when analyzing what someone is trying to say. Trying to draw a parallel between this and racist comments from GOP members is a pretty poor comparison. This is pretty obviously someone poorly articulating his thoughts.

It's not, people clearly understand it to be stupid and sexist sounding on the surface but then examine the context and think about it to see that it was meant as a complement and just poorly said.

There aren't enough world class bjj, wrestling, or judoka specialists that are both in the weight class and interested in fighting. Striking wise, the entire class is miserable, Ronda included, so it comes down to having one of those skills, and Ronda is at the top of the mountain there.

Maybe there's a world class weight lifting female out there with wrestling experience that could get coached up to overpower her, but good luck finding them.

Dont care if its interpreted as an insult. You don't doubt the Beast unless you want a one way ticket to Suplex City.

Yeah, but Man amongst Men is an actual compliment. Brock (badly) tried to use it in the context of a woman, but it didn't work out too well. It's not incredibly sexist, just not well thought out with some negative connotations attached to it.

hmm well i think it's pretty great how people are defending brock lesnar as if we live in some reality where he isn't a sexist homophobe who told an espn reporter that he "doesn't like gays" and at ufc 100 said he was going to "go home and climb on top of his wife"

Its not like i'm saying I can play basketball with Lebron, you guys are hilarious, I got more than 10 years of serious grappling training, weight 40 pounds more and I'm a man.

I once got the chance to roll with the great Roger Gracie on a seminar, now he is impressive, and I got submitted without much trouble like 10 times.

And I don't know why I keep arguing with people that don't know much about grappling, on the internet, where I really can't prove anything.

Brock's comments are more of an insult to Ronda's competition than anything. She's really the Jim Brown of MMA Women fighters. WAY ahead of her time.

Cmon guys, this is meant to be a complement. It's clear male UFC is a step above female UFC. It's not even really debatable. The comment might be a little sexist, but the intended meaning can be understood. He's just saying that she's a strong fighter.
