UFC champion Ronda Rousey files to trademark catchphrase

-Earlier this month, Rousey, the UFC female bantamweight champion, filed for a trademark to "Do Nothing B----." She also filed to trademark the shortened version of that phrase, "DNB."

On the show, Rousey said a "Do Nothing B----" is a woman who "tries to be pretty and be taken care of by someone else." Rousey said that she is not one, because "there's not a single muscle on my body that isn't for a purpose."

Two weeks ago, Rousey announced on her Twitter feed that she would be selling a limited edition "Don't Be A D.N.B" shirt, which featured Rousey sitting on a bed. The website where the shirts were being sold, with proceeds going to a mental health charity, stated that the goal was to sell 1,000 shirts in two weeks. By the time the sale ends on Friday, the site will have sold more than 50,000 shirts.

She should. It's an awesome phrase, coming from an awesome place, and from someone that seems to be ridiculously true to themselves. If anyone should profit from it, is her.

I laugh everytime Dana rapid fires the word "superstar" at the post show shit. Seriously.. make a drinking game around it for the next ppv and you'll finish you're night with a TKO.

props to Rousey though... she obviously knows punching/getting punched in the face isn't exactly a retirement career. Get the movies and the merchandise going as early as possible.

Decent saying though once again it's another case of a woman pitting herself against other women also don't see how trying to be pretty correlates to getting someone else to take care of you.

Like every new sensation? Anywho, if Nintendo can trade mark it's on like Donkey Kong, I don't see why she can't trade mark her catch phrase.
 
Not that big a deal...I mean, she's obviously planning on marketing merch with the phrase. First step is to get a mark on it.
I guess "Business venture seeks to protect product!" isn't as rousing a headline.
 
good for her. it's just a cheesy catchphrase. and the shirt's proceeds are going towards charity so yeah whatever. cool.

i like to consider myself a do something bitch tbh.

That doesn't make sense. I always try to be as much of a drum n bass as possible. Some days, I'm nothing but a drum n bass.
