Empire's reviews are the only ones I trust. They review most films very fairly and decidedly un-fanboyish. Whereas based on Internet opinion you'd think the Twilight movies would be the worst pieces of trash ever.Busty said:

Sure they miss the mark sometimes (who doesn't), but on the whole Empire is just about the only major publication that views movies for what they are. Event movies, arthouse films or whatever doesn't matter much to them though they do skew towards the mainstream a bit more. But that's alright because that's who it's aimed towards.

Cameron won't rest for a fucking second will he? He's now planning on breaking the world record for deepest deep-sea dive at 36,000ft. He's already helped design the thing and its already half built down here in Australia. I imagine this has something to do with the pic The Dive he's producing up in Queensland as well.

But I guess I'll see it sooner or later, although I doubt I'm gonna go watch it in a cinema. I ain't wearing glasses on my glasses like some type of internet meme.

Listen, this is is all my rag on the whole Rottenwatch "one by one add up the total" construction and fanboysim and expectation/creepiness in celebrating spastic twitter comments. I expect appreciation from major critics of course. I'm a bit more on board than at the start of the day. But I still expect reservations.
There are some tempered key spots in McCarthy's review which are going to trickle in.. and have already done so in a few critic's insights.
And um, Academy Award journalists? What, like the folks over at incontention and hollywood elsewhere? I mean.. those are news blog perspectives for me. Kris Tapley is readable, but he's a squealer too.

Really? I would say that 35mm and regular digital screenings probably take up 70-80% of the screens, with Digital 3D and IMAX 3D taking up a good 20-30%. It's showing in 3D -everywhere-.

I have to say I'm surprised... I haven't followed this movie at all, but I saw a trailer and thought it looked pretty awful... and then Cameron didn't do himself any favors with his rambling nonsense at Ubisoft's press conference at E3. Anyway I know nothing about this except that it's in 3D, it's by Cameron, and that the trailer looked like it was for an awful film.
The positive reviews are getting my attention, though. I hate going to 3D films though... I already have glasses, and wearing two sets is so dumb
And I don't have contacts (and don't really want them).

I don't particulary like going to the theatre at all in general, to be honest. There's rarely enough leg room and especially during a long movie it can be very uncomfortable. And in this case I'm not even hyped up for the movie. I usually prefer watching movies on a large TV-screen at home instead. The whole 3D aspect doesn't really interest me at all either.

The unfunny smurfs refrain reminds me if the pre Star Trek 90210 twattery. Unite and hate before seeing a theatrical frame? Makes me sad.

my mate and i can't stop fucking babbling about this movie. it was BEYOND epic. HUGE. absolutely immersive, beautiful, exciting, fun, moving (surprisingly) and just awesome in every way. the cast was amazing. michelle rodriguez was great. the atmosphere and world that he's created is unlike anything i've ever seen, i feel like i just woke up from a dream. THIS is what cinema is all about. excuse my enthusiasm, but HOLY SHIT.
