Empire's reviews are the only ones I trust. They review most films very fairly and decidedly un-fanboyish. Whereas based on Internet opinion you'd think the Twilight movies would be the worst pieces of trash ever.Busty said:I just saw Empire's 5/5 review. I have no reason to doubt this film is quality apart from that review. I simply don't trust Empire reviews at all.
Empire reviews are notoriously inconsistent, over inflated for big fan boy projects and then sensible and fair for others.

Game-changing - yes. Spectacular - absolutely. Occasional dodgy dialogue and dramatic imperfections - of course. But still - wait for it - a titanic achievement.

Cameron won't rest for a fucking second will he? He's now planning on breaking the world record for deepest deep-sea dive at 36,000ft. He's already helped design the thing and its already half built down here in Australia. I imagine this has something to do with the pic The Dive he's producing up in Queensland as well.

Karma Kramer said:I really don't think Inglorious Basterds has a better shot then Avatar... yes you can say Sci-Fi never win... but from the reviews this is kind of a completely new film... not your traditional Sci-Fi.
Solo said:What reviews have you been reading? :lol Because almost everything Ive read, while positive, makes a point to mention how this is one of the more unoriginal concepts out there.
CassidyIzABeast said:looking at his reviews on rotten, This is it is better than Avatar and Avatar is on par with Terminator Salvation and Wolverine:lol
well he could have at least given it a 3 star. Avatar, Salvation, and Wolverine being the same score just ain't rightJohn Dunbar said:Always a terrible idea to look at a reviewer's history and go "he gave X movie this score but Y movie this score lol". Not a single reviewer could have all movies rated in perfect order on a 5 star system.
Also, This Is It got great reviews.

ItsInMyVeins said:I'm not so convinced about that yet. I still think it looks like a decent movie at best and I haven't warmed up to the character design of the blue dudes at all yet. But I guess I'll see it sooner or later, although I doubt I'm gonna go watch it in a cinema. I ain't wearing glasses on my glasses like some type of internet meme.

Solo said:3D is getting blown out of proportion here. People need to realize that 95% of screens showing the film will be regular 35mm.
duckroll said:Hey Sculli, you mind if I update the thread title with the current score like every Friday?
For example now it would be "Rottenwatch: AVATAR (100%)"

"Rotten Watch: AVATAR (Directed by JAMES CAMERON) RT says it's better than TDK AND Star Trek (10,000%) "
I let J.J. Abrams slide because he made Lost, one of the few things I enjoy more than TDK.Solo said:Still stinging from the potshot at TDK? :lol

Seriously, all the trailers and commercials I've seen just look absolutely awful to me, like the Grand Canyon of Uncanny Valleys (and not just the blue people).Hari Seldon said:Well shit. The youtube videos made the movie seem so bad, but now i will have to see it!
