I like Seasons 3 and 4 equally, but they're honestly kind of hard to compare directly. Season 3 of Enterprise basically feels like a season of Deep Space Nine. It has a prolonged story arc that stretches for a long season and really tries to break down the crew and see where their limits are. Season 4 feels like a season of Next Generation where the episodes are bit more episodic and it becomes more about space, the final frontier.

it wasn't juggling enough characters or plots effectively to feel like a season of DS9 (not that DS9 was perfect either)

to me it felt more like if the Voyager writers had actually gone through with the Year of Hell concept for real instead of chickening out

I dunno, I still think that last stretch of season 3 was the strongest part of the show.

4 was probably the best season overall though.

I don't remember the third season well enough to place judgement. Guess I should go back and rewatch that season instead of the fourth one.

I hated just about every character in the show, Reed gets a few bonus points for being one of the few competent people on-board the ship but even then it's still difficult to place him into the 'good' category.

Things seemed like they were finding a better footing by the end but that was sadly a couple of seasons too late for the show.

glad Trip died

I really wanted to like Enterprise. With Scott Bakula in charge I was pumped. Instead we got a Captain who is outright incompetent, and makes even Janeway look good by comparison.

The episode where he happily assists in genocide was disgusting, and the writers trying to pass it off as an enlightened viewpoint was insulting.

The rest of the cast was very forgettable. Most the crew was basically ignored for four years, even more so than on Voyager. Jolene Blalock is arguably the worst actor to ever get a lead role on Trek.

While season three and four were an Improvement, at best they were good episodes. The ending to S3 really blew the good momentum of that season.

About the only thing I liked about the series was the look of it. The uniforms were uniform and the design of the ship was pretty good.

All in all a big missed opportunity. Even more than Voyager was. At least with Voyager there was the occasional glimpse of brilliance. Enterprise at its best was "good".

The vulcans not being nice people was cool. For a couple of episodes entrerprise had the plot device of low tech winning over more advanced technology. But this was lost.

I dont liked the uniforms. Too much like pijamas. The ship exterior should be close to TOS than TNG.

I liked TPol/Trip thing.

I love the NX-01, it's a cool looking ship and I'll probably end up building that huge model of it someday.

I've only ever seen a few episodes though. TOS, TNG and DS9 were enough for me.

I always hated how the ship didn't have shields in this series.

So many times they would get into battles and get disabled so easily.

Remember the grappling suction cups? And that time the Vulcans had to use their tractor beam to rescue Enterprise's shuttlepod from a comet?

How anyone could say any medic rates higher than Bones boggles the mind.

I liked Enterprise and agree it's a shame it was cut short just as it was finding its groove. The ending was beyond terrible though, and that theme song...that was a disgrace.

In the end however, the show gave us one of my favorite Trek characters.

I'd love a new Trek show based just on Commander Shran, as Picard would say, "Make it so."

I liked the third season the best, which took risks with its characters and stories. The fourth season had some interesting ideas but there was a lot of fanwank and character development took a major nosedive in favor of plot-based mayhem. Still better than the first two seasons but a disappointment after the darker third.

The show got killed right as it was starting to blossom into the prequel we all hoped for.

It's interesting to read the ideas for season 5 the writer room had: http://en.memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Undeveloped_Star_Trek:_Enterprise_episodes

Damn, some of those proposed episodes sound really interesting. Someone should kickstart a season 5 or a Netflix miniseries or something. I'm sure none of the cast is working presently.

Interestingly the undeveloped DS9 and Voyager episodes on that Wiki sound like garbage. Glad they weren't made.

Getting towards the end of season three. Disappointed the studio cancelled the show as season three and four had some really great stuff.

Oh and I have since bought the full series on Blu Ray.
