It's out this week you dirty so-and-so's!

Shame we aren't getting some of the goodies (posters, seemingly Konami hasn't sunken to pillow f@cker promo levels yet) the Japanese are getting, oh well. We get the game four months before they do. I guess that's bonus enough.

Japanese sales charts are gonna be rockin' when this one is released. ^_^

I need this game to distract me from the $50 I wasted on that turd KoF:MI. Jesus, what an awful, awful game and I'm not the anal 2D sort to renounce any and all things 3D. I was just hoping for something good and got a hackneyed KoF / Tekken love child.

Well I got smackdown vs. raw, and im already sick of it .. yes .. so i may as well give this a shot .. plus i think its only $40 actually.

Shame about the localization, which is lowest-bidder CRAP. Horrible lines with horrible delivery. They should have had a wrestling fan write it :(

from what i've been hearing from the reviewers, this game has some fucked up / awesome scenarios / characters. and the story is by the guy who wrote tokimeki memorial: girls side (the one aimed at girls.) YES CRAZINESS. i might have to buy my first wrestling game ever!

I may have to buy this to make up for the not having DOAX. Only 40 bucks, hmmmmm. Is having women in skimpy outfits beating the shit outta each other and trying to humiliate each other in very sexually graphic nature?

I just went to ign and checked out some movies for it. PEEEEE~EWW!!!! WTF man! Worst voice acting EVAR! And the gameplay looks slows as molasses.

It's a poor replacement for DoA.

I do not know the percentages, but a german suplex from bosoms always ranks high! High! High!

The only comparison that can be made to this and DoA is the part in which Itagaki cries when Japanese sales charts are released. :P

Rumble Roses isn't even trying to be a serious fighting game. Arcade wrestling is where it's at. Used to love those stupid WWF arcade games. Hmmmm did Technos have anything to do with the Fire Pro series?
 
I like how the moves end up in the girl pulling the opponent's legs apart and jamming the panty-clad crotch into the camera. I would think that was completely offensive and degrading...

Heh, I caught this thread after 3 replies, but I wasn't planning on replying but since you insisted :P

It's funny you mention KoF: MI because I had just finished trying that game out for the first time before I saw this thread... yeah it's a dud.

I just opened my copy of Maximo Vs Army Of Zin... I made a decision to support every "good" game with anything remotely homoerotic in it... Prince of Persia 2 gets no sale from me without the shirtless cute hero from the first game.

Okay I ran out of things to say...

Yeah, we need to leave wrestling to adelgary, who has no problem admiting why he likes it, and the rest of the closet dwellers. Adelgary, are you a bad enough dude to out the rest of these boys? ^_^

adelgary: You should pick up THUG2. Create-A-Skater could be very accomodating for your tastes. :D Be warned - NO FAT CHICKS! >:|

You can't make fat ugly chicks and you can't make terribly fat ugly dudes. Kind of weak, but if you want a bulky male model skating around in briefs, you can do that. :P
 
Definitely picking this one up; it looks to be joining the ranks of few all-girl brawler games that actually has game play to go with the pervertedness. :)

KOF Maximum Impact is awesome though; it's not my fault if you guys suck at the game. ;) Although the U.S. version does suffer from hideous voice acting. Mind you, the KOF 2002/2003 pack will completely blow it out of the water.

Just a reminder for anyone interested in this game: It is a WRESTLING GAME. If you don't like the WWE wrestling games' game play, DON'T BOTHER.

Nope, voice acting is the least of this games concerns.

At least Street Fighter EX resembled the basic SF2 gameplay. KoF is f@cking awful. I don't understand the above average reviews it's getting. My only guess is because not many reviewers are familiar with KoF and don't know that KoF isn't Tekken on speed with fireballs.

Oh well, I got $30 trade-in credit for it. So I paid $20 for a Fatcoon interview DVD. :/
 
Never mind posters and other freebies, what I'm wondering about is if the Japanese version will get more characters/modes/moves. That would suck.

You do realize that despite the chain combo system, there are plenty of elements still retained from the 2D games, right?

I don't understand the above average reviews it's getting. My only guess is because not many reviewers are familiar with KoF and don't know that KoF isn't Tekken on speed with fireballs.

Maximum Impact is a great first step for the KOF series into 3D. Yes, there's room for improvement, but they did a good job making a 3D fighting game out of a 2D one and using both new and old elements together. KOF Maximum Impact IS a 3D fighting game, and it's unique in that it has special moves and supers like in the 2D fighters. Unless I'm missing something, there hasn't been a game like that in years. Street Fighter EX is NOT a 3D fighting game. It's completely 2D in its game play; it's an SF game that uses polygon characters instead of sprites.

Maximum Impact is also a way for SNK to get people introduced to KOF that might have normally passed over the 2D games. It's definitely more simplistic than the other KOF games, and it's quite obviously made that way. I was able to get my friends that never play the 2D KOFs very much into this title. There's nothing wrong with a game that's a bit more simplistic; it works for DOA, Mortal Kombat Deception, etc. Not every game needs to be Virtua Fighter. And with this game in particular, it stands out a bit more due to the 2D elements it retains and the special moves. I'm looking forward to seeing what SNK does with the sequel.

As for rumble roses, I'm torn.

On one hand I like the digital boobies. On the other hand I'm not sure if the graphics of this game are up to par. But I do like digital boobies, but on the other hand I don't like wrestling games (you know how picky I am with fighting games, so wrestling games rub me the wrong way usually). But I do like digital boobies, but on the other hand I've pretty much bought a game a week these couple of months and I"m running dirt poor...... I might have to start picking and choosing. But I do like digital boobies, .....hmmm

The rolling, the CD attacks, all the special moves, and even some of the same combos will work for certain characters. But it IS a new game play system, and I think they did a good job of creating a 3D KOF and making it accessable for anyone to get into it.

Just play Smackdown! Vs. RAW, and see if the game play is interesting enough for you to get into. RR *should* have some more exciting moves as well, since they are free to use whatever moves they want to; WWE games have restrictions on which moves get used for their wrestlers. Did I mention the boobs, too?

Ferrio: I don't even like wrestling games, but I'm buyin Rumble Roses. The graphics are top notch and strangely enough I love using wrestlers in fighting games (Wolf, Raiden, Hugo, R.Mika, Bass, etc.). Oh and I bought that turd Def Jam Vendetta. So it's not like I could do any worse. :D

You should rethink your decision if you didn't like MI. :P Seriously, once the boob factor goes away, if you don't like wrestling games, you're going to be trading this one in too.
 
I'm definitely picking this up. The music in the trailers I've seen got me really pumped and some of the girls (particularly the Eastern ones) just look too hawt to ignore. Besideis, I've just spent the past few days unlocking pervy costumes in DOA:U so you can tell which side of the digital boobies fence I'm on.

I played the hell out of the old school wrestling games I linked to earlier in the thread.

I also enjoyed Fire Pro on the Dreamcast.

I'm just not a con-I-sewer of them like Bishoptl or those folks. That's time better dedicated to playing fighting games.
