Rumor - [billbill-kun] Battlefield 6 to be €80 on PS5 and Xbox

80 Dollars?!

If they are targeting 100 million players, I think they are making a bad choice. They have to really prevent against backlash early and often. I assumed their strategy was a beta to validate player preference for class/open weapons, price it low or free in some modes, and plan for emergency updates at launch that can address negative feedback more quickly than we typically see.

Otherwise, a slight bit of player dissatisfaction will just turn into 2042 all over again.

I definitely want this game but probably won't be paying full price. Fortunately the one good thing about EA is that have no problem discounting games....so I suspect this would be on sale on BF.

It likely is real but until EA says it I just felt it needed the rumor tag
If it's Bilbil-kun then it's likely real.

I think he gets his info from some retailer's listing databases because most of his scoops are about pricing, new bundles, discounts or new SKUs of existing items (like Dualsense or Xbox controllers).

Yeah with the source I am betting its real.

Plus not in the headline was the Oct 10th release date that he claims

Just be a great game. Battlefield is one of my all time favourite franchises. I bought a new GPU just for Battlefield 1942 and it took me a summer of working my ass off to pay for it, but what a game!

Hundreds of hours on Vietnam!

I just want it to be amazing again!

Exactly, I'm right there with you. I've loved it ever since 1942 dropped. Yuuuup, I played SO much Vietnam as well. I feel like the BF fans/community are certainly due for one.

Damn I played so much BF V blasting music while flying the helicopters
Same, I've always loved the whole music mechanic in the game. Hearing choppers blasting Ride of the Valkyries never got old. That was my favorite thing about Hardline, lol. They basically brought back the same music mechanic.

They would have been better off launching at £50-60 to win back some of the good will they lost with customers over the last few years, especially after the launch of 2042. I imagine a lot of people will avoid this at launch specifically for that reason.

The £70/€80 price point is a tough sell for many and will prevent a lot of players jumping in at launch. I know a few people that will definitely wait for it to drop in price as that is too much of a gamble for them if it's not perfect at launch (which we know it won't be).

Even though this price point is really the standard for now, I feel like it will only work with specific franchises. Battlefield simply isn't as popular as Call of Duty and this price will not pull curious players in.

I wish EA would sell their franchises (specifically Dead Space, Battlefield and Titanfall) to companies that know how to manage them, they're fucking clueless.

So, like every modern release? The game has a single player campaign, a full fledge multiplayer, and a battle royal mode. This seems like a good package to warrant the price (assuming the game is good) compared to many other games.
