Rumor - [billbill-kun] Battlefield 6 to be €80 on PS5 and Xbox

80 euros actually is a "good" price, since earlier this year it was said games were gonna cost 90 euros. I believe games have been 80 euros for a long time in my country now.

That's the standard price here in Europe for current-gen AAA games on XSX and PS5, so no surprises there, tbh.

The good thing is that at least BL4 ll be 75% off 2 weeks after its release

I ain't paying EA £80 for it. Love Battlefield. Thought the Labs was very fun and what I wanted from a new BF game.

But £80 for a game thats gonna be rammed to the brim with microtransactions is a tough pill to swallow.

80 already is quite crazy, but the other day I saw a store selling MKW for 85, apparently normally it's 90 euros. Insanity. I fully expected BF6 to be 90 euros.

So with all that in mind, this ain't bad at all. Yup.

80 dollars for a service game whose content was adapted and designed in the earliest stages of development in such a way that the game will continue to be supplied with paid content for years to come, even though this content could have simply been added to the game at release?

Damn I played so much BF V blasting music while flying the helicopters

Exactly, I'm right there with you. I've loved it ever since 1942 dropped. Yuuuup, I played SO much Vietnam as well. I feel like the BF fans/community are certainly due for one.

Same, I've always loved the whole music mechanic in the game. Hearing choppers blasting Ride of the Valkyries never got old. That was my favorite thing about Hardline, lol. They basically brought back the same music mechanic.

Hearing a chopper coming over the horizon with LMG gunners blasting Hush by Deep Purple at full volume! or any of the many other classic songs!

Ahhhhh, those were the days.

If this is true, then i want this game to be as dogshit as 2042. I want EA to be so humilliated for months after launch that it will take them years to recover. Actually, i'd want Ubisoft level of a disaster to happen if they charge $80 for battlefield.

DOA if £80 (€80) last 2 entries have been shocking (burned me on BF5) and they never listen to the community on what we want!

BF1 was a mess at launch and luckily they listened (losing money) and brought it back and it's one of the good ones. Still not as good as 3 & 4 though.

If it's another live service crap, a want it cheaper. Getting sick of these live service games they never live up what the devs say. Bring back the premium pass! A want my gold tags.

If your game is good folk will buy the pass, if it's a shit show like it's been the last 2 games then they won't and no one to blame but themselves.

Customer goodwill surely has to factor into the decision making when it comes to price.

If you're a beloved franchise, you sort of earn a pass to flop your dick on the table with a price increase. People will still lap it up. See Switch 2 and games like Modern Warfare 2 (2009).

Not so when the last BF games, BFV and 2042, were so loathed that they forced EA to rebuild the franchise under Vince Zampella.

Asking people to give the franchise another shot AND pay more to do so is a risky move.

I don't play these kinds of games but basically there are games that do this for free. Why would anyone pay anything with the f2p games out there that offer the same friendslop gameplay loop, I'll never know. This or COD, I'll never know why these are popular. I don't even get why the f2p were popular. I was tired of this kind of single dimensional gameplay in grade school. I guess it's like my love for soulslike. I can never get tired of them no matter how redundant they are or how many playthrus. COD and battlefield are like the normie soulslike. I think you have to care for others company to enjoy these games and that is why I don't. I have a friend that only games when his friends are online. I'm the opposite. I like gaming better with minimal social and usually story interaction inside the game. I can take a story if it is very good but usually I skip and just play the game. Mic banter, I don't enjoy. Maybe I'm just a mean old hermit.

The good part of this is that I don't get gaming slumps. I never need friends to enjoy my hobby, in fact it is just as good being 100% alone.

The best thing about Hardline was being a Medic and your character yelling "Medpack motherfucka'!"

If this launches at £80 it'll be DOA and obviously won't meet EAs already unrealistic 10m copies sold expectations. Then they'll shelve the franchise and blame players for not buying their expensive game, despite this releasing off the back of the disaster that was 2042 (even though they managed to salvage it somewhat eventually). This is looking like another Titanfall 2 in my opinion, which was a great game but flopped in their eyes due to the shitty marketing and launch date.

They won't do this, but they should launch at £50-60. This is the best chance they have of it getting close to their sales expectations.

Prepare for this to probably be the last Battlefield game we get if this one doesn't meet their targets.
